I especially like the guy who faces the approaching plane and dosn't even flinch - my anus would have prolapsed at about 200 metre range and I would have been about 2mm high on the ground at 100 metres - nerves of steel !
Those flyboys sure seem to have lots of testosterone to spare !

A Spitfire flying low at full chat is an awesome sight. There is an airfield not too far away near Selby that has a historic flight based there, and if you camp nearby you can watch several different types of WW2 fighter planes throughout the day.
Strange that a deadly weapon of war can also be an object of beauty.

Not quite as cool as the jets but I am flying the one one the left side ...
I dunno, having been a helo crewman most of my career (both heavy lift -53's and later HH-1N's), I'd say it's at least a tie! We had HH-1N Hueys in the SAR team I flew with, and the sound of that thing beating the air from across a valley at altitude gets me all misty-eyed

I took the tenni over to the uk for the weekend, and got royally pissed on, we spent Saturday at the fairford airshow, and I finally got to fulfil a lifes ambition by seeing a Vulcan fly. Spectacular.
I don't know why military aircraft are sexier then civilian ones, they just are.
Certainly there's not a lot sexy about the A340s I fly for a living.

You know this 'There's absolutely no cause for this alarm - the wings are not on fire ...' sketch?
The Vulcan is monstrous even when it just stands around cold, makes me wish to have a black smoke generator adapted to my Ex-Box
