Just got this message from Ken: "We have 3 rooms open from [September] the 6th to the 8th. All are "standard" and priced at $129.00. Thank you so much for sharing! I have your flag ready to hang!" - Yesterday

This is more of the serious conversation sort than the fun banter usually found here. This is about a local family in a nearby parish whose lives were turned upside-down a few days ago. Kathi and I do not know them. Given, however, the motorcycle connection and compelling story, we gave. Please join us and others in that if you find it worthy. https://www.givesendgo.com/conlonemergency Many thanks. Bill

I would not assume they did because of that. From the little experience I have with forums (I used to be on many forums before they got extinct), if the members do not post, then there is less reason to check in because there is no traffic. The problem is compounded if there aren't many members. Take this forum for example. Some, but not all the traffic consists of people that only come here when they have an issue with their motorcycle. Some are one timer. Once their issue has received a reply, they leave. Other forumers post trivia so when members check-in, there is something they may want to read, or not. But it keeps the forum live. Such as posting about trips, or places, stuff. Try to gather attention so your forum is not a dead beat place. It is not easy. Nowadays, people do not like to write, they would rather watch a video, I am going for a ride today, so I don't have time to check your site. But I will later. -
No doubt some motorcycle prices are up there. But a couple years ago the wife and I bought two brand new motorcycles for less then $15k. And they weren't low budget off brand bikes, they were Husqvarna's. If we wanted cheaper bikes in that range there are a few available from Japanese manufacturers that would have probably been under $10k or $12k for the pair. While some models are amazingly expensive, there is also a large number of smaller bikes on the market for very reasonable prices. Back in the 90's and 2000's if you wanted a smaller bike you could typically only find a few options that were all oriented towards beginners. Now you can buy really nice sub 500cc bikes for reasonable prices. So, I think we are in a great time for motorcycles.

PX6, The Gilera group is on groups.io, at: https://groups.io/g/Sears-Gilera-106 There is very little action, few postings, so I must concluded that the two people left because of the vintage ad, which really isn't that salacious by any standards. I could see where some women might be unhappy w it, if they have thin skin. - Last week

Are you certain the two members quit because of the photo? I do not see anything offending, unless those members are extremely religious. When I was working in Libya, magazines with women in inappropriate outfits were automatically confiscated as prohibited to import. Staying afloat for a non "video" site is getting tougher nowadays. Even Facebook. Now, a lot of the discussions have migrated to Discord. I am on a Facebook Group for Moto Guzzi Quota, but it is not the same as this forum. When you make a post, only the first few answers are directly visible, else you need to click to reveal. There is no easy way to differentiate topics. It is just like a big box where you throw in everything. Not my type of information channel. Better than nothing. -

I run a vintage Gilera group, with few members. An offshoot of the old Yahoo group days. Mr brother, a big shot businessman, suggested increasing the group's internet presence to get more people, so I posted a vintage Gilera advertisement photo ... and two members just quit. Is this really that salacious, that over-the-top? I'm just trying to stay afloat in these facebook days. -
Guzzi meeting in John Day 2024

Intendance, not "indendance". I made a spelling mistake. As strange as it may be, the French Rafale can refuel from US tankers, and land and launch from US aircraft carriers. They probably communicate by hand signals.... lol... Back to John Day meeting 2024!! -

I have penciled it on my calendar; it is not yet a firm "I shall be there" as I need to work out the logistics and "supply corps" of the trip. I am not certain "supply corps" is the exact translation for the French "Intendance" which is a military term. There also was another translation, such as Stewardship and Estate Management. If you have been in the military, you understand what it means. -

I'll be heading there on the Stelvio. Looking forward to it. -
It seems that Joe Roberts may be riding an Aprilia next year. It is obvious that Trackhouse needs a US representant in their team, and besides Roberts, there is nobody else. It is early to say he deserves to be uped, but like with everything else, sometimes, being at the right place at the right time is a plus. The big question is, are we going to have a second MotoGP in the USA? Flatrock Motorsports Park is said to receive the FIM homologation with a shorter track configuration. The largest configuration is 9.5km or circa 6 miles, which makes it the longest out of all the current MotoGP tracks. The MotoGP configuration would be shorter at 4.3 km. If they do two GP in the USA, then they would probably take place back to back. It could replace the Argentinean GP which is probably never going to happen under the current government.

Yes, we got bikes with the 15M-RC and lambda input but not until pretty late in the day. A quick gurn at the parts lists says 2003 models got Lambda input.

I'm sorry, I have not asked Mikko's surviving family about any of his property. I think it is still a bit soon after his sudden passing in January . . .
