  1. Today
  2. That's held in Melbourne here in in Oz... Never been in all these years so must make an effort one of these days! Cheers
  3. I actually enjoy some of those reactionaries- they're useful if they're experts in some aspect, like guitar players or voice coaches.
  4. I looked back through the entire thread and have to suggest adding a dedicated ground/earth from the regulator case to the timing chest. Also, to clean/tighten/seal the main ground to the back of the gearbox on the right (behind the seat latch actuator). It would be telling if the charging voltage changes after addressing the grounds.
  5. @GuzziMotothanks! I should have gone to the website and checked on this info for myself. I'm happy to say that when the bike is off 12.85 is what my battery reads and it's been hovering in the mid 70s mostly here in Kansas City.
  6. Bartlesville also has an amazing place to visit called Woolaroc...not to be missed, if you have never been there. But give yourself at least 1/2 a day to go thru the museum...I don't think they'll let a motorcycle thru the animal safari side however... There's a very modest hotel in Cedar Vale...much easier than riding over from Pawhuska or Bartlesville...but depends on your "luxury" requirements.
  7. From the Odyssey website; "the alternator should provide between 14.2 and 14.5 volts at the battery terminals." So you are just above their target range and below the maximum 15 volts they warn not to exceed. Another number for the Odyssey battery to know is voltage when fully charged. They say the Odyssey battery will read 12.84 volts when fully charged at 77 degrees F after sitting for at least 6 hours to settle out after charging. That is slightly higher then some other batteries voltage when fully charged. Finally, the Sparker battery that came stock in many, if not all, V11 Sports was for all intent and purpose an Odyssey battery by a different name. So, if there is any concern that the stock charging system will work with the Odyssey battery, well, I would say it seems the factory thought it would.
  8. that would be cool, if it can be sourced and evaluated.
  9. I don't know if I proposed this one before, but it sure feels familiar...
  10. I am checking the Price Tower stay in availability as I type.
  11. Bartlesville is neat town. Price Tower (Frnk Lloyd Wright) and Phillip's ranch Woolarc come to mind.
  12. @GuzziMotothanks for the post ok the allotted volts for the battery. This helps out my mind at ease. I see a lot of posts on here about the guzzidiag tool, can anyone link the most useful? I want to know where to download and what hardware I will need. During my boring day job I'm a Software QA so I feel more then confident working with the tool as opposed to my extreme basic understanding of power flow on this bike lol. Thanks in advance for any help
  13. I pencil this one too; also because I want to drop by Bartlesville OK, to visit REDA Pumps. https://www.slb.com/resource-library/article/2021/celebrating-90-years-since-the-creation-of-the-reda-pump-company-in-bartlesville-ok In 2000, I was assigned to the Esso Chad project, where oil extraction had to rely on down hole pumps from REDA. I got to interact with personnel from Bartlesville, some of them young enough to maybe still be there. Going quickly through their website, I can see the Electrical Submersible Pumps is no longer their core business, even if you can still find ESP products if you look: https://www.slb.com/products-and-services/innovating-in-oil-and-gas/completions/artificial-lift/electrical-submersible-pumps/agile-esp If my Quota is ready, and if the planets align, I would be interested, camping excepted. There is a "Cedar Creek Lodge" in the vicinity.
  14. The odyssey battery is fine up to 15 volts according to the people that make it. Here in the states you can't turn the headlight off. And the V11 Sport stock R/R uses the headlight circuit for its battery voltage reference as I recall. If you turn the headlight off it would stop charging.
  15. This weekend, we have the Spanish Grand-Prix at Jerez. Many pundits, including the grand guru Jorge Lorenzo, have predicted that Pedro Acosta should get his first win. This would rob Marc Marquez of his title of the youngest's MogoGP winner ever. Me think that Marc is probably planning to not lose that benchmark. It will also be interesting to see how Francesco Bagnaia is going to perform, as he is now in a pickle in regard to his principal GP24 rivals. Last but not least, Maverick ViƱales will probably need to confirm that his COTA performance was not an isolated effort.
  16. I don't know about the Englishman's pedantic narration. I like the well composed diction. I am unable to listen to anything when people try to squeeze as many words per minute as they can; maybe this is what they are trying to avoid? boring their audience? in my case, it has the opposite effect. That, the talking heads, don't forget to like and subscribe, my name is Gontrand. I am guessing that by now, the people watching YouTube understand the subscription and like button. In many cases, they forget that a video is to convey a message using images. Otherwise, it should be a podcast. My favorite, so far, are the guys "reacting" to a song, or a video, an event. It seems to be successful, because we have more and more of those too.

  18. The max voltage is too high. Is this figure with the headlights on or off? 14.6 volts will eventually cook the battery. As docc pointed out 12.6 is a little low at idle but then it depends on what the true idle actually is. Phil
  19. If you have intermittent operation of the indicators, then you have bad connections or bad grounds. If both sides flash at the same time after fitting LEDs, you need to modify your dash lamp circuit. See: https://www.v11lemans.com/forums/topic/30710-signal-indicators/?do=findComment&comment=291012
  20. I have had success cleaning/ treating the switch connections. CRC Electronics Cleaner, then Caig DeOxit.
  21. The low idle voltage could be down to a low idle. These tachs can read 300-500 rpm high. No big deal, perhaps, at cruising speeds, but setting your idle at 1,000 rpm with the tach when that is really 500-700 rpm is not good. Use Guzzidiag to confirm the actual idle and the "Decent Tune-up" for the idle procedure. Good to keep an eye on the charging voltage. The Odyssey is not to exceed 15.0 volts.
  22. @LaGrasta thanks ! I picked up a new Odesy from Harper's so I was also playing it safe for the battery's sake as it was not inexpensive. Riding looks bad here after today but great next week so I'll put some miles on it!
  23. I can confirm this true: It won't work with an LED unless modified
