  1. Fantastic. They arrived today. 2,5 days USA - Norway. Now I am back in business helping Guzzi injection drivers. Rolf

  3. Hi, why would one continue to use a PC after direct editing of fuel maps became possible escapes me. The PC is a wart on top of the ECU and the axis values don't match the ones used in the BIN at all, with all the detrimental effects resulting thereof. Which could be rectified, the Dynojet Power Core software allows changing the TPS % values and adding additional columns. They could be brought much closer to the degree values, at least on the 15M, where the low degree values can be represented with % values to a sufficiently good enough approximation. And Dynojet, upon request, also changes the rpm values and columns. Cheers Meinolf

  4. The highly derived stock airbox really is a desirable piece of kit. People ditch them for a lot of reasons, but it has major advantages when it comes to running quality and rideability. Plus. it is such a sexy thing! (as long as the side covers stay on . . . ). Helps mightily to bell the intakes, IMHO. Best V11 maps in the world come from Meinolf. Far better than using a PC. Also, what does guzzidiag say your CO Fuel Trimm is?

  6. If you pull the flywheel off, make sure you note the orientation. There are timing makes stamped on the flywheel that you may one day want to locate. It is very helpful when you locate the marks they are in the correct position andy

  7. This is something I'm very interested in. I have twin plugged heads on my bike, but haven't set it up yet. Biggest hurdle for me going forward with this is the prospect of having to change the ignition curve. I'm dreading having to manually edit the map. I have a table that was provided to me by a gentleman on this forum who went by the name "Motoguzznix". I will delve into this over the winter. If all else fails, I'll ditch the 15M ECU (which I consider to be the boil on Sophia Lauren's ass) and install a set Keihin flat slides and an ignition module from Eletronik-Sachse and be free of the whole mess that is this Magneti Marelli injection system.

  8. Don't take it all too digital, or black and white as it was called then, both systems have their advantages. Biggest disadvantage of the PC is its vulnerability caused by additional connectors, additional pcbs and so on. Not to mention the space it needs. Biggest advantage of the PC is the now finally available AutoTune / Closed Loop option (since when, btw?). Many are using it nowadays. Nomore need for a dyno at all (only if you can get on without impressive charts and curves, of course). Another option I can think of, especially for the US, is a TuneBoy key. Tuner in the US use it on their Dynojet dynos. TuneBoy also can read PC maps and use them to modify the OEM Marelli maps. Because of this feature others also still use TuneBoy in parallel to GuzziDiag. If you're new to this you should have a look at TuneBoy. You can still go to dynos, you can use PC maps, additionally you can change ignition values and correction maps etc. Costs should be comparable, if not better.

  9. Because the Power Commander can be edited in real time while the bike is running on a dyno is why. Editing the map directly on the Guzzi ECU is a slow and tedious process, and no professional performance tuners, at least here in the US, want to mess around with Guzzidiag. Dynojet makes industry standard equipement used by professional (or at least as close to professional as we have here) racers. So you can poo poo it all you want, but it's the best solution for getting a custom map and professional tune for the bike especially if it has been modified. If we had a more modern and open ECU like one in my Daytona 675, then the PC wouldn't be necessary. My tuner was able to develop a map for my track bike directly on the ECU for it, but will not bother with the Guzzi ECU. And he is a Guzzi and Ducati specialist.

  10. Stay easy, folks! It's the internet only.

  11. Griswoia, thx for reporting the solution. PC3s spoiling your driving experience are reported here quite often To enumerate all modifications right in the first post is an important part of the ceremony, as it helps to enumerate all theoretically possible sorts of failures , the fun part of the whole thing. But seriously, mentioning the PC3 would have solved the problem right in the first answer.

  12. Purloined's prose is worthy of greater readership than this modest forum offers, for sure. I'll follow this thread to the end just to read each unfolding chapter and bone up on my working vocabulary. I have SAFECO and while I could arguably return to USAA and get a slightly better deal, I exercise the benefit of the personal relationship I have with my broker. Said broker happens to be a fraternity brother with a history of moral terpitude who since recovered, repented, married, has built a very succesful business by increasing my rates and those of my fraternity brothers, at a metronomic pace. As we are quite close and share many things, among them a history of moral terpitude, he goes to the mat for me with SAFECO whenever needed. Thankfully, those efforts have never been required insofar as bikes are concerned, but his relationship with SAFECO and his book of business gives him some clout when he chooses to exercise it. I hope this works out in your favor and someone sees their way to take good care of you as a customer.

  13. Warning .. this is Country music. Today an indy radio station played a full hour of this guy. A great, sad story. I can't believe I've never heard of him. I love finding treasures like this, this way. If you have Amazon Prime and want to hear more, check out a dozen or so. Streams for free. No good videos I could find.

  14. If you'll remember I started this thread thinking this was a fueling (a la pump or injector) issue. The bike has had a PC forever, yep forgot to mention it. I've gotta say it's a dissapointing response that all varriations from stock need be enumerated before an issue can be discussed. Sweet baby Jesus these bikes are all 20ish years old. They must have a million modifications by now. Yep I've got pods and hey guess what a Motoscope Pro dash. Either of those might just be contributors in an alternate reality. This thread has given me tons of info I'll carry forward keeping these bikes on the road. All of the discussion is archived and who knows how many future problems will be solved after reading this thread. So guys thanks for the attention. It gave me a good push to solve this before winter teardown season. Here is my input for future readers. The PC rolls in at 1500rpm. So if you do fine and then can't roll on disconnect and see if the PC is at issue. Easy test that.

  15. So you didnt think it was sort of important that you would mention the bike is fitted with a power commander????????? It takes you half the thread to mention you recently replaced the fuel filter!!!!! Seriously, people come on here for troubleshooting advice and help and leave out the basic but highly relevant information. This is why I'm reluctant to get involved too much in these troubleshooting issues and waste my valuable time. Ciao
