  1. I bought some thinner wall Gates mpi hose, its 8mm ID 14mm OD. This was more flexible and I was able to get a nice smooth run. I groomed the loom inboard a bit, so it runs up the side of the spine and doesnt end up in the same place as the fuel hose. There is still a lot of "contact" between the airbox and pretty much everything in the vicinity, and as much as I hate doing it, just pushing the airbox down and tightnening it up allow things to go back together. It doesn't help that someone managed to snap of BOTH side airbox rear bracker bolts, one side in the frame tab, one side in the airbox! I tried reverse drilling out the airbox one to no avail.

  3. Some have found the handling improved. Lots of opinions that a 170 on a 4.5 inch rim was just done to get in on the wide tire craze. Same for the 180 on the 5.5. Also, you can look at the way the sidewall pinches in and affects the thread profile with the wider tires. So, the 160 (on the 4.5) has a “rounder”, more natural profile. As usual: YMMV, riding preferences differ, and no small furry animals were harmed making this post.

  4. If it's the plug that I have in mind then the head won't come off at all. But as 68C said a several times now: take a big nut, M10, M12 or bigger even, lay it onto the plug, fill in the hole using a simple arc welder and then just screw out the plug. Easiest thing in the world. No risk of damaging anything. Opposedly to what you're trying now. Because of leakage problems it may well be that this plug is glued in with Loctite. In that case welding would be your only chance.
