  1. The Moto Morini Milano that I wish they still sold in the US and an MZ Skorpion Replika which through time became unobtainable. And a V11 Tenni.. No need for a pic. We all know what those look like....

  4. Got this gearbox in from a Rosso Mandello. its been apart before, recently I'd guess. When Michael pulled the back off the box.... You can see where the nuts have tried to mill their way out of the case! Repeat after me. "I will use Loctite and torque these nuts properly."

  5. It's a sign of low voltage. Mine blows if the battery is low and keep trying to start it. It's somewhat rare but it happens.

  6. Gotta get it colormatched. And I think Guzzi did it for a reason. These 2 colors (candy red and the champagne) changes colors over time. My Lemans over years in the California sun has a hue of orange(which imo is gettin better with age) and the champagne Ive seen lighten to a beige and change to more of a gold. I went looking for color codes to get my seat cowl painted to match the red and not the grey and it was like looking for the National Treasure. I took it to a paint shop with a sample panel and had it matched...

  7. Something different... Last weekend I racked up some kms on my 1200 Sport in the Sauerland, Germany. After a few hours intense riding my left hand cramped up (this is still due to a stroke I suffered from in 2002). It spoiled the rest of the beautiful day. So I've been thinking about the Aprilia Mana since then. I've done some reading and I although I don't really like the looks, the CVT transmission would able me to ride longer and more relaxed. I know that @pete roper has (had) one, and I would like to know your experiences and other input.

  8. Yeah, the guy who sold it to me is on here, and whilst it isn't his bike, he knows it well. The stack of receipts for regular servicing and replacement parts, along with the knowledge it's been all over europe (round the Nurburgring quite recently!) puts my mind at rest about how well it's been looked after. It has been well used (that's what they're for), and I guess after shelling out for a new stator, the mechanic couldn't source a stator housing at the time and did a repair. The owner was aware of this, and it has worked up till now. I guess as a new owner I'm looking to put things back to standard, and not knowing why it looked the way it did, put it to the forum for answers. I know that all I need is a stator housing, but finding one is proving difficult! Thanks

  11. Could be so. Quicker spinning cogs have to bear less load, can be smaller and lighter, see less pulsing

  12. You enjoy working on your bike, you enjoy the results when riding it, enjoying life is only a small step left then.

  15. however it did add a small residual current that would flatten a NEW battery in a hot summer garage in Mesa, AZ if left for 4-5 weeks. Another data point. Solution, ride more.

  16. Update; I'm sincerely hoping (and pushing) to get these engraved in the next few days. Anybody who wants one can order simply by sending a PM. If you're in a hurry to get one immediately, I can send it minus engraving. We can not yet take credit cards directly, so payment at the moment has to be USPS money order, checks, or PayPal. I have Google Pay also but have to discover exactly how to take payment with it. PayPal email is; pressureangle@gmail.com Surface mail box and check made to; Horst Manufacturing 9501 E. Center St. Windham, OH 44288

  17. Hi, Bob here. 66, retired. Bought a project Sport about 3 weeks ago. Have owned around 15 motorcycles over my riding years. The MG is my third Italian bike, the other two were dink’s, a HD Aermachi 65 and a Sears Gilera 106 I owned around age 15/16. My other current bike is a 2006 FJR1300. I’ve looked at 4 Sports and a Ballabio over the past 11 years, but never pulled the trigger, very happy I have now. Member of this forum since 2008, sure wish I had picked up that greenie I looked at back then. My Sport is a 2001, 9100 mi, has a Tenni rear cowl with a black tank, Ti cans w/Ecu. I assume it may have been dropped somewhere in it’s past. I bought it with a leaking fuel pump, dead battery, and 15 year old tires, plus 10 years in storage, from the daughter of a gentleman who was supposedly incarcerated for running a Ponzi scheme. He did not put any miles on it, just stored it away in a climate controlled warehouse, along with all kinds of other vehicles and stuff. All this was reflected in the price. Despite all this, I feel the owner previous to the last loved this bike. I’ve put a fuel pump, new tires and about 400 miles on it. The driveline fluids looked good enough to run temporarily as I feel it was prepped properly for sale/storage, but I really need to flush the root beer out of the brake and clutch lines, which I will start tomorrow. Anyway, happy new owner looking forward to riding, and reading about this charismatic motorcycle. Bob

  18. *Really* nice video, Brad. Nice try, but I'll keep the Mighty Scura..

  19. Reasonably available where? Reason I ask is that I reside in the poor old US. None of the "really good" bikes that we watch from across the pond. Case in point: the revived Moto Morini's 1187cc Corsaro. 87º V-twin. 120HP and Torque. Sigh... .

  20. Oh, I have.. a fair amount..but it's pretty tame compared to the SoCal canyons. I've been spoiled. This was on the last ride of the Mighty Scura in the Santa Monica Mountains. If you look carefully, you can see the road a couple of thousand feet below. Also, I have to negotiate the Indy "ant farm" between here and there. It takes me two hours to get anywhere good, ride for a bit and two hours back. It's just *not* a good place to ride a Monza.

  21. Ah...hem. Yes. Pete, you've given the MG community far more than you may know, or possibly could have received in return. Well done. I couldn't have made this happen so easily without Swooshdave and Chuck. It was my intention to let Swooshdave be the front man, but since the cat is out of the bag, they are made, and waiting only on engraving; I'm hesitant to let them go blank but the engraving is way behind schedule. The price will be $70.00US plus a medium USPS priority box, $14.35, total $84.35US. International buyers pay only what actual shipping costs, we'll send them anywhere. I have to set up a proper company PayPal yet, but checks and money orders are ok after clearing and I have to check on VISA/MC/AMEX before making a statement of certainty.

  22. Well, I'd just like to say a big 'Thank you' to 'Pressureangle' who today dropped a not insignificant amount of money into my paypal account. While handing over manufacture of sloppage sheets was not something that I was expecting to make any money out of really the last year has been pretty tough for my business with my understudy Michael busting his back and becoming a paraplegic setting up a 'Cripple Friendly' workshop has been both time consuming and expensive! Particularly as diminished income meant there was less tax money to use as write-offs for new tooling and equipment! While Jude and I are far from paupers the bank accounts, both business and personal, have taken a severe pizzleing this year. The cash injection is greatly appreciated. As well as the filthy lucre for me for every plate sold there is going to be a donation made to MSF for all their excellent work so please, if you need a plate buy one from Eric rather than the thieving twats in Huddersfield who stole the design and copied it without even so much as a 'By your leave'. Pete
