  6. If you're referring to my Greenie. The bags are aftermarket Hepco Becker JR. They offered in two sizes that will fit the mounts. The questions is whether you can locate the mounts? Try Moto Machines, they're the US importer and can get anything that's available. https://www.motomachines.com/ My bike has a handlebar conversion by previous owner, the bars give great leverage when cornering but not as comfy as the OEM clip ons. I am stretched and arms into the wind but it works OK. It might contribute to my weave issue. Realy, a flyscreen and bags are about all you need to tour. The only mod you might make to the bike are Buell pegs to give a little more leg room.

  7. All is right with the world. She’s back together and probably running better than ever. Left side valves seems to make more noise than before so I’ll be checking them soon. Hopefully that oil in the bell housing is from my recent breather hose leak. Two things the machine shop asked me about. One is, the original(?) guides look to have a step on the top side. Does this indicate a liner at some point? The other question. The shop asked me who did my porting? Do all Guzzi’s have these shaping/grinding marks in the intake and exhaust ports?

  10. Having looked at all shipping options, there is a considerable savings in using a padded priority envelope for these plates, particularly for international buyers. I'll offer that up as your option, and the plates are stiff and durable but there is always some small chance of getting bent. To those who have already paid but not received, let me know your preference and if you'd like to go with the padded envelope I'll refund the difference.

  11. I am same size as you Kane and also have a Sport (orig. owner). I have taken several 1000 mile trips and would say it has been very nice though I did upgrade the padding on my seat (added small gel layer) after one of the trips. I only go about 300 miles per day. I use small removable soft bags and the factory rack plus factory tailbag. Now I have an Africa Twin and tend to use that for additional route flexibility on long multi-overnight trips.

  12. The mount holes appear to be in the correct position for a Ballabio. The left-right adjustment screw relief hole as well. It appears to have 5 windshield mount screws, which is consistent with a Ballabio. Also depends on the original color. If it was red and the silver sprayed over, it might just from a Ballabio. If it was silver and the red sprayed over, well all bets are off. As to the frame mount used on the Ballabio, MG went to an awful lot of trouble to design and cast up/machine the rather massive frame mount, which also holds the signals. But that mount, by itself, was deemed to be insufficient, as a V-shaped tubular mount extends from that cast mount up to the center windshield screw on each side, to steady the top of the screen.

  13. I've ridden my Greenie from Okla City to the Spineframe Raid in North Carolina. I've ridden it to Austin Texas to MotoGP on several occasions, twice to Springfield Ill to the Flat Track races and ridden it several times to the Ozarks in Arkansas and Missouri. That doesn't count day trips of 300 miles. I have 45k miles on the machine. I find the airflow and seat to be fine. The only downside is leg room, I do recommend frequent stretch stops. I usually can't make it more a full 140+ miles for a full gas stop. I already mentioned how to set up the suspension with big bags on the back. I've also trailered the bike in my Toy Hauler to Daytona Bikeweek, Colorado, Indy, etc. This one also has a carbon factory flyscreen like the Scura.

  14. I have done LA to SF on the Mighty Scura, including twisties now and then. A long day, but satisfying. After that, I thought a V11 LeMans would be perfect for the plains and interstates of Indiana, so looked for one for quite a while. Finally found Rosie, a Rosso Corsa, and was disappointed that I preferred the fly screen of the Scura. The only place the LeMans fairing was "better" was in the rain. There was turbulence around my helmet, and cross winds were more bothersome. Of course, all this is subjective, and rider size and position, aerodynamics, etc. say YMMV. Per your first question. Yes, the V11S with flyscreen is an all day tourer. For me.

  15. I love my Tekno soft bags and Stucchi flyscreen that were original Moto Guzzi accessories for the Sport. The faring is still available from Stucchi, unpainted but with mounts. The panniers come up from time to time here or ebay. The 2nd generation have better braced mounts and the bags look more reinforced. The backroads I like make a mounted GPS very helpful for sport-touring. I will probably replace my 12 year old (!) Garmin Zumo 550 with their latest motorcycle unit before my next trip. I'm good for 250-300 mile days of good twisties, still . What a sweetheart of a bike!

  17. I own some Triumph 2-strokes from the early 50ies and it's really an amazing thing to watch them slowly idle and hear nothing but in- and output noises. No gears, no valves, no clutch, nothing. Maybe a faint hum of the primary chain, that's all.

  21. There's a YouTube vid of a fellow in Europe doing a track day with his Corsaro. At one point he almost lost as it was wheelying mid-corner. Not that is some kinda torque.
