  1. Installed the "Deep V" sump: Used all Ti fasteners. Total weight savings is approx. 7.75 pounds (3.5 kg). Deleted the oil return line and put a one way flapper valve on the vent line. Now that my front subframe is exposed, it quite obviously needs some loving!

  2. Hello all. Today among other things I finally installed a handle bar mounted oil pressure gauge. I'd designed, 3D printed and installed the mounting hardware a while ago but didn't get around to plumbing it in until now. The pressure at idle is just above 60 psi. Oil was cold, didn't really let it warm up much further than this, was just testing it out. Does that seem correct? I'll take her out for a spin and see what it says when she's at running temp. I have fresh Amsoil 20w50 in there.

  3. 60's good but to be expected with cold oil. The OPRV crack pressure is somewhere around 60 so it's working. When it's warm you'll find at idle it's really low but as long as it doesn't drop below about 40 when you're motoring in hot weather you'll be fine. pete

  4. The drain hole is an elongated slot where the oil is running out. I'll have to admit that I had a laugh when I saw the pictures. Sorry. You are *not* the first, though. It'll be ok. Do what Pressureangle says. Maybe a little over a quart of mineral spirits..

  5. If you haven't run the engine it's fine. Just flush the clutch compartment out with mineral spirits. You can plug the drain hole with a little piece of wood or plastic, then add a quart of spirits, wobble around as much as you can for a minute and drain it. What little lube stays stuck will be absorbed in the dust and be covered by new dust. Worst possible case is you find it's invaded the friction surfaces (shouldn't have, really, unless you pulled the clutch lever while the compartment was full) and you have to change the clutch, which is your only other option now anyway. Give it a shot. BTW, the hole you're looking into is for timing the engine. There are flywheel marks to use with a timing light.

  6. My Manufacture date was 2/2000 so I'd say its an early V11 an has greater potential to the fading. Thanks for all the feedback!

  7. Also missing from that view is the regulator . . . Why not put horns elsewhere and complete the "slipstream" look?
