  1. As important as it gets. You cant fully bench test it. You can check the continuity and coil resistance but sometimes they work cold and then break down with heat when the engine gets to operating temperature. Generally when they fail the engine wont start. Incorrect phonic wheel to sensor gap can cause erratic running. Ciao

  3. I made Jude a pair of earrings out of a pair. Sadly they are too heavy to wear really! If you'd like one to use as a 'Prince Albert' I'll happily send you a few. Just don't post pics eh?

  4. Yup. Mine ran well cold, but as soon as it got warm started spitting, running erratically, eventually quitting altogether. Next mornings, cold, beautiful again. I eventually ohmed the sensor on the bench with a heat gun, and it opened every time at about 230*F.

  5. Ist doesn't matter, sure, but here you pay 10 per wheel plus 3 for dumping the old tyre. I don't know any of you folks, but I remember well Todd's silly, angry and incompetent rants against Tuneboy and MyEcu. That was a long time ago, tho

  6. Pete and Todd do not get along anymore. I assume it hit the fan between them. That said, I also have a bike using a map from Todd ('07 Griso 1100) and it runs well. It isn't for sale, either. I like Pete, and respect his knowledge. But I also deal with Todd and I have not yet had a bad experience with Todd. I don't agree with everything Todd says or does, but the same could be said about Pete. But, in the end, everyone has to make their decisions based on their experiences. If you are using GuzziDiag, as Pete mentioned, you should be able to find a map that will work well. There is a fairly large community of people using that software. If you aren't the sort to do that sort of thing yourself (like me) you can pay someone like Todd to do it for you. I did that with the Griso (paid Todd) and I did that with the V11 (found a local DynoJet / PowerCommander guy, he is long gone). For me, I deal with technology at work, and so when I get home I really don't want to get into something like GuzziDiag. Maybe one day I will have to bite the bullet, but for now all my Guzzi's (except the Lario) have been flashed or tuned and run great. The Lario runs pretty well, but it could use better jetting or even better carbs. I just don't think I need to worry about it on a vintage bike like that. Perfecting that bikes tuning would only encourage me to ride it harder and then it would probably blow up....

  7. Unless you have made extensive mods you'll probably find someone has a map that will work. If it doesn't get some logging gear and WBO sensors and 'Roll your own' with Tunerpro. Sorry, I don't know who is 'Good' in the US but I know a charlatan when I see one.

  10. 80CX100: Yeah, have been trying for a few days. I'll try again to look at their site and then call. I like to have a rough idea (pic and description) of what they are sending me. Really appreciate the feedback, I know this topic thread goes back many years and am never sure how available these vendors may be. Safe riding. Tom

  11. Yep that will fit the V11 except for the gearbox input drive spline and MAYBE a slight mod to the clutch push rod. Ciao

  12. Hmm........I've never even considered doing this and now I do consider it I'm thinking "why would I". Cant really see any advantage and plenty of disadvantage. Ciao

  13. There is just "something" really sexy about the way a girl rides a sport bike. Mac Dennis's now x wife Patty came in to camp on a Lario, and I had to have one. That was a "be still, my beating heart" moment. I don't look as good on one, though..
