  1. It wasn't the friction plate, that was the wrong way around. But there ware 6 holes in the pressure plate and they had to fit over the 6 allen screws that hold the flywheel to the crankshaft and they ware not aligned properly Problem solved

  2. i think we need to be careful, there’s a shed-load of mis-information doing the rounds: ‘sipping water can wash the virus down into your stomach and the acid will neutralise it’, ‘drinking hot brews will increase your immune system’, ‘laughter yoga is good for your chakras’ etc etc etc. bullshit piled upon bullshit unfortunately. I guess it’s best to stick to official guidelines at the mo. on a related note: i’m just back from a lovely ride all around derbyshire, came back thru matlock bath (traditional biker haunt) and it was absolutely packed. like rammed. apparently the coast in the uk is too, so as typical brits, it’ll take the police + military to be rolled out before people start treating this seriously 😐. my pal up in scotland said the authorities have been turning back folks in campervans who are scarpering oop norf to isolate... oh well, stay healthy guys. and no kissy kissy!

  3. Yes its an easy mod to do, a drill a steel rule a hacksaw a file, some 4mm (from memory) piece of scrap mild steel and a welder. My test iteration wasn't even welded but bolted together as proof of concept then Chuck got all show offy and made lovely crafts person type ones and retired to the Bahamas Ciao

  5. Stewgnu, The schools are closed here in Ohio so we're at home alot & watching funny movies; watched 'The Full Monty' last night, set in Sheffield. Had the subtitles on but the kids still had to have 'Yorkshire' translated for them

  6. Chuck....Yes, especially when it is the MG world! Lucky Phil...Thanks for the Euro Moto addy! I forgot about them, several years ago I bought a valeo starter from them for another bike. Anyway, I placed an order for the fuel hoses, their product is overall less expensive and I won't have to worry about bend radiuses. Gstallons... I've got an "87SE too! Have a good one & stay healthy, Art

  7. That's not true, Phil. My helicopter broke down, so I couldn't get to the yacht to go to the Bahamas..

  10. Thanks for the reply Chuck. I've been reading up on threads the last week or so, as for personal/business reasons I've neglected my Cafe Sport for several years and am now trying to get it back on the road. I certainly appreciate all of your contributions to this forum! Maybe we can get a run of at least 10 going, seems we have two already.

  11. Right, Docc. It *is* the future. Is this being overblown? I don't have a crystal ball, but we're doing everything we can to be responsible and reduce our chance of passing it on. There *is * no cure so far. Yes, it is "deuced inconvenient.. " I "need" to go to the lumber yard and pick up some stuff to build a wing jig that I ordered. Not happening..

  12. Sorry, I carefully used *all* of my material when I did the last run. For me to buy some more plus shipping, and talk my water jet guy into doing a few, then setting up the cnc and running them isn't really viable. I'd at least need to do 10 parts.

  14. Update (sort of): I traded my Volvo 240 for... a Volvo 240. 2 years younger and a lot less kms on the clock. (My GF started to worry)

  15. The bike is a very nice piece and worth your original asking price. With global economy nearly shut down, it might be an issue trying to sell it.
