  2. My pork chops look like a 10 yr old with a chipping hammer had an afternoon to play with them . Perfection ? You drag a tool box drawer across a four coat of clear on a CF front fender . I went from Klingon to Ghandi in a few minutes . I realized there are worse things in life than scratches .

  3. The Sport has not been out for six weeks. Just 32 miles and a tank of fresh fuel, but she ran like a Labrador Retriever on his way from the truck to the boat . . .

  4. Looking at other's pics of their RC... yes, the valve cover should be red. Kane, aside from some minor imperfections (paint nicks on left porkchop, dents in right canister) it seems to be relatively well preserved. Unfortunately and neurotically, I'm used to perfection in all things Guzzi. On top of that I had forgotten the difference in ergonomics between my previous 01 Sport and 04 Coppa and the LeMans. Priced 'bout right though.. but he might raise price now that Ive told him what an exclusive model he has. Nice fellow and easy to deal with, not like the drama Ive come to expect from Craigslist.

  5. I think the seat I used had been cut, lowered and gelled, with soft appearance foam filling out the cover. I removed the 1/2” gel pad and cut the remaining stock foam below it. I left stock foam filling the pan depression because the seat pan is far from flat. I cut 1” Sunmate to fit in the hole where the gel was and a slightly larger piece of 1/2” over to cover the seams. Still managed to pull the cover back over all that, even with the appearance foam in place. I like the medium firm foam, as it conforms to my posterior after a few minutes, or less if sitting in the sun. The firm needs to be sanded/ contoured to shape for a base layer. I’ve never used med soft or softer, I found the firm/ med firm combination great when shaped properly, sort of a good Corbin. The soft or medium soft might work well for a comfort layer over a firmer layer. https://www.sunmatecushions.com/pages/motorcycle-seat-retrofitting-with-impact-absorbing-foam-applications They do sell a sample pack of different foams cut 4”x4”so you can get an idea of what might work, and offer good advice over the phone. My experience is that firmer is usually better. And I always keep my stock seat, and work on a second, in case of failure. Also, check out their overstock page.

  8. So I decided to defer the tuning fuel tank job, just a bad time to do it really when you need to ship stuff and fitted up the fuel tank instead to do a leak check. Popped the injector connectors off and did repeated pump primes to pressurise the system and fill the lines. All good except for an externally leaking fuel tap when in the open position. These thing really are a POS. My original one jammed in the open position and this one inexplicably decides to leak from the shaft seal when open. Anyway I got my old one that had jammed open which I had after that event reworked somehow and fitted that. Hopefully it wont repeat the same defect. I then moved on to fitting the airbox so I could attack the side covers. The side cover fitment really is horrible on these bikes as they eventually crack due to the poor fitment strain. Need to have a think about solving this as I have 1 brand new cover to fit and one reworked one and I dont want them cracking. Couldn't resist fitting the tank and tailpiec to get an idea what its going to look like. Ciao

  9. I just returned from a look at a 03 Rosso Corsa which I'm thinking of buying. Can anyone answer a few questions for me... please? 1. Should there be a badge somewhere on the bike showing the special edition number? 2. The Rosso I looked at had MG Ti exhaust canisters and ECU. Did these items come stock on the Rosso, or are these upgrades? TIA for any information.

  12. Yes I'm happy with the way it looks. Raising the tank seems not to have had a negative impact. I might leave the rack off, initially anyway as my wife cant get pillion for the moment. I only had it fitted as a really good pillion hand hold. Its a great looking engine that's for sure, a look that engenders a feeling that danger may exist here. Bit like a big radial aircraft engine. When you know whats thrashing around inside one of those thing its a little bit worrying and scary. Ciao

  14. Hi, Kelly.. you are number 8. I have no idea about time line or if we get 10 that want them. I would have to order material from a place that may or may not be open, and get the stuff that doesn't matter done by a water jet shop that may or may not be open, either. This thread is where it all happens. What I've been doing is have you send me an email or PM with your shipping info, and when I ship them out tell you how much shipping is. Shipping has been running roughly $3.50 US to roughly $15 US for furriners, except Kanukistanians, which are around $8.50 from memory. People can either paypal, personal check, barter for beer, etc. Previously, after having material in hand it takes a couple of weeks to work into the water jet shop's schedule, then run them on the cnc, form them, bead blast and paint them.

  17. I am always impressed with how fluent Noraly from Icthy Boots is, even on complex topics. Whenever I watch the Isle of Man, I can never understand anything when they interview those guys. Half time I can't even understand the announcers. They should use subtitles. Have you watched the film on the Dunlop bike racing family ? They are barely understandable Classic stuff !

  19. Well, I never understood why they were called "pork chops" when their profile much more closely approximates lamb chops, but they look nothing like "stilettos" so I'm sticking w/ pork chops so folks here will know what I'm talking about...
