  1. Glad you found it. I had that once, just a few weeks into ownership... stopped at an intersection, oil leaking out pretty significantly., and was the infamous timing chain cover gasket leak that a number of the 2002 bikes suffered from.

  2. My box was quite good before, with just the occational return binding, but felt even better during a quick 10km round the block. Crisp shifting and no binding. Add another happy customer to the list.

  5. Griso engine is substantially different. It runs smaller TB's, sump, lubrication set-up, crank/alternator set up all different.

  6. Nicely done, KINDOY! Instead of just pushing the bracket to the inside, consider loosening all of the exhaust connections and mounts, then "grooming" the system to de-stress the components, tightening in steps in a "star" pattern from the heads back ensuring all of the joints are tight together. On one occasion after this method, I lost a rather small exhaust leak and was surprised how much running and idle smoothed out.

  10. I recall, when so many hands pitched in to make a new valve cover gasket for Goofman's 1200Sport at a SpineRaid, the impressive amount of oil that came gushing from an unsealed valve cover . . . (Don't forget this requires copious amounts of "gasket-making fluids" in bottle or can! )

  11. I Didn't see anything,will give it a thorough once over when I do service but my guess is the A/F is out of whack,just like when I had cracked TB boot,same symptoms.New filter and back to normal...

  12. I'm probably in the wrong place to post this..if so..apologies..I'll figure this out soon.. Some of you probably know my bikes better than I do..at this point as both have been listed in this forum before, My "Greenie" was formerly "Scuds Greenie", and My Rosso Mandello is #49 formerly owned by Surj. Ive been riding Italian bikes over 50 years..Mostly Aprilia and Ducati..I havent owned a Moto Guzzi for 3-4 decades when I had a MK1....I Re inspired my self on MG while Riding in Italy 2 years ago and spending some time At Lake Como and in Mandello del Lario..And now I am seriously hooked on the V-11 I love these bikes and just cant get enough riding in, ..that is until this Covid 19 came along. Anyway I'm very proud to own these two bikes and be a part of this addiction ..I havnt put many miles on the RM..but have racked up a few several hundred mile rides on Greenie and she runs just flawless..Kudo's to Scud for all of his Fine work! Thanks All..I'm trying to learn as much as I can from the forum with out being too much of a PITA...lots for me to learn.!!

Thanks again docc..I loosened everything up but between the front balance tube connecting the header pipes together, and he Stucchi crossover connecting everything else together underneath, , their isn't much room for "give"..anyway..I loosened everything, I had to squirt a little "Breakfree" on some connections, then took my plastic mallet and tapped and moved everything around as much as it would budge until it seemed like there was the least stress...hard to tell if I accomplished anything but it seemed the muffler I moved from the outside mounting to the inside moved its angle just a little so the mounting tab is a little inboard and the there isn't so much torque on the 2 mounting bolts which go into the can. I Ran it until it was hot..I couldn't detect and leaks..so WE WILL SEE..I have barely ridden this RC as I was waiting for new rubber since I bought it , the old tires looked like new but the date on them told me 13 years old!!, The bike has been sitting the last 5 years so I wasn't willing to roll the dice on that rubber. Comparing it to my Greenie and my Rosso Mandello it does seem to shake a bit more when Cold and Slow idling but that may be just because I'm not used to having that big Le Mans fairing up there with the mirrors on it moving around..it revs smooth and crisp...further riding and a basic tune up should tell the tale!

  14. Thanks docc..I did loosen some of the connections ..but not at the heads..sounds like I have a little more to do..it was still pretty stressed ..more than I liked.

  15. So, the "V11 Sport" was produced throughout the model range as a naked bike (no fairing or fly-screen), "standard" (Marzocchi/Sachs) suspension, clip-ons, and fork mounted headlamp/instruments. The V11 Café Sport had Öhlins, a flyscreen, handlebars, and frame mounted headlamp/instruments (like the Ballabio) . This bike is rather a mix of features. There are, notably, no tail cowl graphics to help identification. It is, however, a nice example of both the bike and a legit ad. Tasteful mix of carbon fiber parts and meticulous presentation of images with appropriate asking price. I would love a broader view of what is wearing the white walls!

  17. Thanks Docc. I was going to go with eBay simply because buying Deoxit there also. They are 5 for $25, so $5 each. I will probably go with your suggestion as it is a little cheaper and exactly the same part #. Checked the main ground, and it was mounted to case. They left the paint on though so I scraped it off, cleaned everything up and brushed with copper antiseize. Probably go for a shakedown ride tomorrow and see how she runs. I think I'll leave the gas in it to minimize variables. I'm suspecting the relay could be the problem.

  18. Not sure what the added "1" designation is. I do not see it in the product description sheet from OMRON ("R" is surge suppression /built in resistor): https://omronfs.omron.com/en_US/ecb/products/pdf/en-g8he.pdf Indeed, the #1 Relay is the only 5-pin, but they (5-pin/"C" pattern) can be installed in every position, and therefor moved about freely as necessary. $10.80 each? Yikes! Why not just get them for $3.91 each from onlinecomponents, fill every slot and have an extra set?

  19. DeOxit is magic in a can. Trust me on this. Your Siemans relays are OEM, and known to fail. I have a drawer full of them that I've replaced on Guzzis. Get some good relays, take apart electrical connections, squirt some DeOxit on them, insert, wiggle around.. oh you know.. do a tuneup, and you'll be good to go. Welcome to the best place on Earth if you have a V11S, btw..

  20. Sadly yes. It now seems that Moto Guzzi are going to be condemned to making two wheeled Toyota Camry's for eternity. I suppose they'll be able to sell lots of accessories though like jars of beard pomade and ugly t-shirts with crossed spanners on them and similar junk.

  25. I've had her for around 4 days and 200 miles now, tweaking the suspension but she is doing well. Apparently she was the last bike he bought and he didn't get around to adding anything special to it. The front tire was worn severely on the left side, checked and found the steering head bearings to be loose and the forks out of line. Tightened and straightened that up and she tracks well now. I want to drop the foot pegs an inch and back a little. Possibly lower the front a 1/4 inch or so to see if it make it a little quicker to turn in. Gotta love all that torque

  26. Well guys, this post sucks. I was commuting home from work this past Thursday and a car pushed me into the back end of an SUV. The car kept on its merry way, leaving me tumbling on the freeway. Thank God for good gear, and for the cars behind me stopping in time. My bike doesn't seem to be too banged up, and the same goes for me, luckily. I did an inspection on the side of the road, and most of the damage was to the spark plug guard. It saved the head, but the plug was destroyed. I was less than a mile from home, and the bike started up. Obviously, only one cylinder was firing, due to the broken spark plug, but I was able to get her home and in the garage. I'll be assessing the damage more when I get some free time. I've always wanted to be more active on this forum, but this definitely isn't what I meant by that! Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
