  1. And the right tank, have a backup tank on there now. And the V11 replacement, I finally got back into riding some last year, Love the Quota, just had to play with the timing some to get it running well below 4k rpm.

  2. Well my 2004 V11 LeMans arrived today. So I met the shipper, brought her home, then tried to figure out how to remove the damn seat! Eventually, with the help of the Internet and multiple searches, I located the keyed seat release on her throttle side. :-0 Rigged up the battery tender and hope to fire her up tomorrow.

  4. LOL well that battery is as expected...REALLY dead! As she sat for 3 years prior to me getting it, it was to be expected. I'm just going to go ahead and pick up the pieces/parts to do all the filters and fluids (as well as a new battery) prior to firing her up. I'm just wrapping up doing this on a buddy's K75S that sat for 6 years so when I get that off the lift table, the LeMans will be there in its place. The LeMans is in much better shape than the K75S as that was parked with a bunch of ethanol fuel in the tank. What a major mess that was to clean the rubber/fuel goop that coated the inside of the tank (as well as anything related to that fuel system). His parking it this way wasn't planned as he broke his hip. The LeMans was parked knowing it wouldn't be fired up anytime soon and so it wasn't carrying that nasty fuel for 3 years. I just scoped the tank and confirmed no goopy mess in there. :-)

  6. OK, be honest, who gave up on me and this Bike? Not done yet, made a lot a progress a few years ago, but got distracted. I will be back on it in a month or two as soon as I get my workshop cleaned out and organized so I can get her in it and finish it. All new paint, powder coated the frame, forks, swing-arm, etc. Rebuilt the engine (new piston and liners, rebuilt heads) did some transmission work, new wiring, a few custom touches here and there. A few issues I need to work out, rear wheel is dragging on something, I put new bearings in and shimmed them, I think I just need to shim the wheel, have the shims, just need to play with it. Bevel gear box is leaking at the input, I think I might have forgotten the o-ring, have new o-rings to put in if that is the case. I had some transfer on the inside of the left fork, I need to pull it apart and see if I can get rid of the transfer material, right now the fork is locked up, have a spare set of forks, but would need to powder coat the lower if I do replace it. Hoping to to be riding her this spring.

  8. Yep I won't put anything but the PC 545 in mine ! The ole tart is turning 20 years old this year and I replaced the original Spark years ago with the PC 545 which as Doc says is same thing. That lasted until about a year ago. So in 20 years she's 12 months into her third battery ! They never get charged but then again I ride all year round here, But having said that she sat unridden for 3 months ( still can't believe that ) when we moved house about 7 years ago and still fired up no issues!! So I'm sticking with the PC 545. Cheers Guzzler

  10. It is true you are required to have a hi viz jacket with you in case of an emergency, you don't have to wear it whilst riding. The rules with regard to the reflective sticker only applies to helmets being sold in France, if you bring one from outside of the country it's no problem. Some other rules to keep in mind: - Riders and passengers are required to wear gloves (with a CE certification) - You need to have a breathalyzer with you - Your navigation isn’t allowed to have an option that gives a speed camera warning

  11. Yessir. It's my fourth (including the original "Spark 500" which was also an Odyssey PC545). The third is still in service in my Kohler twin cylinder garden tractor at 10 1/2 years old.

  12. The Bellagio uses a sort of hybrid Tonti frame, after a fashion. The other three frames are twin beam perimeter type using the engine as a stressed member. They're all steel and heavy as a very, very heavy thing but they are stiff and robust. Take a look at the parts diagrams and you can clearly see the differences.

  14. Just managed to lube the drive shaft. The advice here was great and helped heaps. Thank you. After reading everyones experience I decided to go the full hog and remove the wheel, transmission, one end of the rear shock and drop the swing arm just to get to the front grease nipple. I am glad I did because most of the bearings, joints and blots associated with the shock, swing arm and drive were pretty dry. I inspected everything, regreased and reassembled it all in about two hours. The LHS rear wheel bearing was clunky so I made sure it was well greased and will replace that when the tyre gets replaced in a few thousand miles. In fact, doing all this when the wheel is off for a tyre change seems to make a lot of sense and as the tyre lasts around 5K (about two to three years for me) the maintenace of everything in that area can be brought in line with that activity. I also change the fluid in the clutch at the same time. That was dead easy with all the other shit out the way. The best tool I had for the whole job was a hydraulic lift/stand. That made life so much easier and I didnt need to modify any other tools.

  16. After 2 1/2 years and almost 3,000 views, I hope this posting has been helpful to viewers. I admit, I refer back to it to keep my Sport up to the mark! I realize, though, that the thread is locked. So, please, if you have any suggestions, corrections, or additions please PM me on my profile. "We few, we happy few, we band of brothers!"
