  1. When you have a moment Andy, could you please take a more clear close-up photo? It's difficult to see where the zerk is. Thanks. As soon as I can....she is in the back of the garage...hard to get at. I guess I will start posting a disclaimer on my "hacks". I am not responsible for what happens to you. Yes... I put another access point in the u-joint cover...and yes I know what the u-joint cover is for. oh and yes I accept responsibility for my actions. I hope it enables you to grease the u-joint and go 130,000 miles just like me.

  2. My V11 had a Yuasa YTX14-BS in it when I bought her (2nd hand). This worked perfectly for 4 years (plus the time it was in there before I bought the bike) and then died. No leaks, nothing.... My bike is stored in a no-heated-non-insulated garage.... On the Ctek trickle charger once a month.

  3. Well my 2004 V11 LeMans arrived today. So I met the shipper, brought her home, then tried to figure out how to remove the damn seat! Eventually, with the help of the Internet and multiple searches, I located the keyed seat release on her throttle side. :-0 Rigged up the battery tender and hope to fire her up tomorrow.

  4. What I noticed about the packing was that it is dense and oval. Seems like it is adding support to the thin shell. The 2 stroke exhaust I have repacked in the past was always round and straight forward.

  9. Hi to all! The' made in USA' Yuasa, such as the one that was fitted in my 2008 Stelvio from day one come out of the same factory as the Hawker odyssey. I sold my stelvio last june ,12 years old with the original first day battery. It was never put on trickle charge, it got flat a couple of times in the winter but always came back to life. I think that there is a lot of luck involved in the life span of a battery, and a lot of unproven theories about them. Greetings from Cork.

  10. OK, be honest, who gave up on me and this Bike? Not done yet, made a lot a progress a few years ago, but got distracted. I will be back on it in a month or two as soon as I get my workshop cleaned out and organized so I can get her in it and finish it. All new paint, powder coated the frame, forks, swing-arm, etc. Rebuilt the engine (new piston and liners, rebuilt heads) did some transmission work, new wiring, a few custom touches here and there. A few issues I need to work out, rear wheel is dragging on something, I put new bearings in and shimmed them, I think I just need to shim the wheel, have the shims, just need to play with it. Bevel gear box is leaking at the input, I think I might have forgotten the o-ring, have new o-rings to put in if that is the case. I had some transfer on the inside of the left fork, I need to pull it apart and see if I can get rid of the transfer material, right now the fork is locked up, have a spare set of forks, but would need to powder coat the lower if I do replace it. Hoping to to be riding her this spring.

  11. It is true you are required to have a hi viz jacket with you in case of an emergency, you don't have to wear it whilst riding. The rules with regard to the reflective sticker only applies to helmets being sold in France, if you bring one from outside of the country it's no problem. Some other rules to keep in mind: - Riders and passengers are required to wear gloves (with a CE certification) - You need to have a breathalyzer with you - Your navigation isn’t allowed to have an option that gives a speed camera warning

  12. There should be plenty half dismantled old T3 availlable around with bashed body work etc, better resucitated into a Café than left to rot and waiting for the scrap yard. Anyway you dont need any bodywork or wheels if they are cast. Also,You will find plenty low mileage ugly ex police T5 in Italy for E3000 or there about ,you can swap the barrels for new 940 Gilardonis round fins and get Le Mans heads. Good Luck from Cork, Ireland (Pics are before and after)
