  1. It's been a weird year. A veritable roller-coaster ride for my work - but managed to stabilize and do better than the worst-case scenario we planned for. My quarantine project was planting a bunch of fruit trees on the slope behind my house, and putting in some raised garden beds in the side-yard. I know several people who have had a hard time with COVID, and several more for whom it felt like a bad cold. My family and I have managed to avoid the virus so far. I've had a few good small rides on the Stelvio - mostly out to the local fruit stands around Palomar mountain (strapping 25 bags of oranges on the Stelvio for fresh-squeezed OJ at home). I managed to get the Husky 701 into some snowy single-track, which was my favorite ride of 2020. But the Scura is sadly collecting dust. My garage is stuffed with things I moved out of my office. Starting to chip away at it so I will have room to work.

  2. Those forks should bolt up. You will have to change your front wheel bearings to accept that axle. thats the Ducati style hollow axle...same size bearings on both sides. There are no more new rear Ohlins. Docc got the last one of those. There are other rears available that work quite well...but then there not Ohlins. sorry I did not look at your location. if you are an eastern guy, there is a great shop in Henderson NC that does Ohlins. I would have them serviced with fresh oil, new seals, and have them set up for your weight Andy

  3. New LED tailight carefully frenched into the rear of the tail with a custom made steel number plate hanger carrying the superbright LED micro indicators.. This really helped to tidy up the rear of the bike. The tailight has a clear bottom section which illuminates the license plate.

  5. My cut-off spacers are 23mm plus the 20mm I cut off (yes, of course I saved those pieces twenty years!) plus about 1mm for the saw kerf = 44mm. So, maybe even 45mm taking into account some measuring and rounding error and the cut-off being slightly out of square?

  6. Good to see you getting closer to where you want the specs to be The exhaust note as you bring up the revs is intoxicating

  7. this was the Ballabio donor bike it is based on!

  8. Thanks for your positive comments guys! Its based on a 2003 Ballabio. It has a much modified replica Ducati fairing with custom mounts. The idea was to create a bike that looked like it could have come from the factory. There a lots of subtle detail changes to give the bike a cleaner more aggressive look. The colour is Kawasaki candy burnt orange code 17L with a charcoal grey centre stripe and airbrushed logos. The centre crossover was custom made in stainless to match the new head pipes (the fronr cross pipe was removed). The silencers are Delkevic 350mm stainless ovals with the dk killers removed. It not too loud but has a lovely deep burble!

  9. Anyone who can confirm this? I have a set of re-made racks. The PO of these racks had them on for years so they corroded and he had them re-made by a local shop in stainless steel. However, I am fairly confident my top spacer is even longer, like 60 or 80mm. I'll measure tonight.

  10. If it were mine John I'd make a mould of the upper fairing and then abbreviate and style it to blend in to expose the engine then make a new version. You might need to fabricate some additional brackets. I'd then store the original fairing. Ciao

  11. How so? Could not a LeMans do with the shorter frame? I thought the V11 was basically a naked LeMans? btw, thanks all for the encouraging info on an Ohlins / red frame marriage. I’ve not ridden a long frame bike, but I find my short red frame bike stable enough and fairly nimble considering her weight. The suspension feels a bit harsh at times, and I am sure that when I finally get around to sorting out what ever it needs it will perform better. But perhaps an Ohlins equipped red frame V11 would be a grand thing!

  12. A piggyback can be fitted. I have one on my Scura. There's room behind the airbox and above the shock under the seat. If it's thenstandard Scura/Corsa stuff it'll go right on.. The problem is the Ohlins front. It'll bolt up straight but the front fender won't. The front fenders for the Marzocchi to the Ohlins are completely different. He'd have to use the Aprilia fender and just paint it. Screw finding a Scura/Corsa front fender. Almost unobtainium and if found ( a huge IF) people want a fortune for them.

  14. Responding to Kane triples are all 54mm so they'll work either way. The neck post and bearings..? I ain't positive but why would they be different? Overall length of the Ohlins is 20 - 23 mm longer than the early front legs. You'll just have to run them up into the clamps a bit to maintain the same geometry. All the post '01 bike forks are longer to accommodate the new frame specs and allow for the new style clip-on. I'm still of the opinion that the later frame was designed primarily for the addition of the LeMans to the expanding line. The axle, I do not know but the correct axle and spacer should come with the forks. Front wheel and bearing 'should' be the same

  16. A few of my distant family members have had it, none died but a couple of them came very close.I'm still waiting to get my first shot, I scheduled it over 8 weeks ago but March 10th was the soonest I could get..My wife, my youngest Son and I don't go out except to the grocery store or an occasional ride/drive and long early morning walks 4-5 days per week, We always mask up around anyone outside of our 3 way circle and have since last March 13th, We are fine with that,We DON'T WANT IT! I've got my 70th coming up next year,,,I want to go back to Italy and ride next year. I do miss seeing friends, and riding to the local hang outs in the mountains. All of this is just a minor inconvenience in the overall scheme of things in my opinion....We enjoy our home, we enjoy each others company and I have plenty of time to tinker in the shop,I can get any parts I need online fairly fast, my Wife has a awesome job in tech that hasn't been affected at all by having a home office, and she has become an outstanding baker and Chief and gardener, We both like gardening. Things will be much better...life will go on....Happy to be here!!

  18. I have tried to place 3 separate orders with Harpers for items related to the Lemans and 73 Eldo. All orders were ignored. I even called him twice for the seat pan which he said he had to go get from his seat builder. Never followed thru on that commitment either. I simply don't give them business anymore.
