  1. Here's one for those people that say I never do anything. Me pushing our rider off again after a pit stop in the Senior race. John Williams is putting the re-fuelling gear back and the two guys in the red black and yellow are the marshals that give the bike a look over during the pit stop and make sure there are no mechanical issue. If there is they wont let you leave the pits until it's rectified. I didn't like the re-fuelling job just in case I gave the rider a crutch full of fuel. I stuck to the clean the screen and/or change the visor and give the bike a look over. We didn't need a tyre change. And here he is under the paint flat out past the pits lining it up for the run down Bray hill at probably 160 mph on a flying lap. Not a great image behind the fuelling churns. My memory of all the riders going past here wide open a meter away flat on the tank looking through the fly spattered screen is one I'll never forget. Imagine the commitment of pointing the bike down Bray hill between the curbs flat out, needing the line to be near perfect, especially the boys on the big factory bikes. Like threading the needle at 180 mph plus with the consequences of getting it wrong not bearing thinking about. Respect. MotoGP riders, not quite in the same league. Ciao

Took it out today (2 miles)it ran ok,have to wait for warmer weather to road test----Now the tps is clockwise max +,seems to me it should be the other way about 10mm from the end going counter clock wise------confused yet???? thanks for your help

  5. So if you slide the throttle body to airbox coupling back into the airbox and look down the throttle body inlet and turn the throttle full open is the throttle blade going to the wide open position? ( you may need to use a mirror) It wont go totally 90 degrees because the blade only goes 87 degrees for full open but it will look pretty much just the edge of the blade pointing back at you. Ciao

  6. Well boys, now are we havin fun!!! The tps is new with two miles on it----the one I replaced was nine months old with about 20 mi. on it,the 2 I bought came from ca cycle the other 3 came with the bike from the po,of those 1 was the Davidson type+ one I took apart just to see how easy it is to do-----trust me on this one it is very difficult to take apart. I sent to England for the tps cable testing harness,I think it would be difficult to screw that up ! My lovely ev has42000 mi.,of witch I did 10,000 myself,+I would guess was brokedown 12 times minimum (I've owned this magnificent machine 26 months . Tomorrow I will start over as I have done many times before, starting with oil change, probably # 12 with about 30 mi. of riding. Fuel finds its way into the oil + that isn't good,(I'm talking a quart/quart +half over full). As always thank"s for the advise-----I try all tips

  7. No docc around 4.9-5.0 volts not 490-500MV. The reference voltage is 5V and full travel one way ( towards throttle closed) will be zeroish and fully the other way ( WOT) will be around zero resistance so 5 volts/ish. Ciao

  8. Great illustrator docc, I'm so envious of people with artistic talent as i have none. I'm a very harsh marker of motorcycle books I'm afraid. Any technical mistake and it's dead to me. No point telling an historical story with the factual errors. Same as it's pointless reading Biography's of world leaders until all the official documents have been released after 50 years. Read recently a Bio on Churchill and was reminded of this. I'm currently being educated on WW2 fighter aircraft which I had a passion for as a boy. Now with the internet I'm actually learning a lot of actual facts about them and WW2 that just wasn't available at that time. Changes things quite a bit in reality. Ciao

  9. Sounds to me like you may be checking the wrong TPS wires. I believe WOT that gives zero voltage is because you are checking the voltage between the 5v input and the earth instead of the variable output and the earth. So at idle you will have your 330mv and as you open the throttle the voltage will decrease instead of increase. If this is happening you are checking the wrong wires. If that's not the issue then you have a bum TPS. I don't have a wiring diagram for the EV11 but the wiring colours are different between the earlier and later v11's and with the earlier PF09 TPS my bike uses the sensor or output wire isn't the centre pin as it is with the PF03 TPS's. 10. I watch Dr. John Campbell on YouTube. He is pretty much Covid central there. https://www.youtube.com/user/Campbellteaching

  11. I concur with docc. A piggyback shock is a shock with a reservoir directly attached to the shock body. A remote reservoir shock has the reservoir attached to the shock body via a flexible hose, usually steel braided because of the high pressure. There likely would not be enough room on a V11 for a piggyback reservoir on a rear shock. You would want a remote reservoir shock. Also, the nature of the suspension geometry of a V11 is nothing like the geometry of a typical linkage suspension. So the valving and possibly travel of a shock made for a linkage rear suspension would likely not be very suitable for a V11 with its cantilever ( I believe that is the right term ) rear suspension. That said, there are a number of options for having a shock made for a V11. It hardly seems worth it to go with something not suited for the job.

  12. I don't usually touch this subject in the wild, but I'll stick this out there. I did a lot of homework, read a lot of medical and white papers and here's what I've discovered. Disclaimer; the Medical Industrial Complex does not endorse this statement. Melatonin. early research into why age was such a significant contributor to mortality found that Melatonin uses the same ACE-2 receptors that COVID attaches to. Kids have a ton of natural melatonin, after 40 we make far less, and less as we age. Melatonin blocks COVID from attaching. I take 20mg before bed every night; discussing with a friend who has an unspecified congenital lung condition, she and her pulmonologist discovered that 20mg/day of melatonin is actually a known therapy for her condition. I'll save space and tell you that I and a few friends also discovered a marked improvement in lung capacity and ease of breathing after a month. You will feel like a 15 year old kid who sleeps all day for a while. YMMV. Vitamin D. Get it from the sun if you can. Sweat in the sun and don't wash it off for 3-4 hours. UV rays convert cholesterol in your sweat into Vit-D and you reabsorb that as a lotion; this mechanism is important to know, as the reaction takes place mostly on the surface, not in the skin so if you wash it off you get far less effect. Zinc. Zinc kills apparently nearly all viruses. But to do that it must be inside your cell walls, so you need to have a steady appropriate diet. Hydroxychloroquine has been in the news since day 1, but nobody wanted to say why; HCQ is an anti-parasitic, but in an unrelated mechanism chemically transports zinc to inside the cells. Even better, Ivermectin does the same, costs less, can be found everywhere (without prescription if you use veterinary Ivermectin and can do the math on dosage). I have apple-flavored horse Ivermectin, $6. I'll take it only if I get infected, though it has been around for 70 years and has zero side effects. I use Airborne or Emergen-C daily. Airborne works so provably well that the US Military has a NSN part number for it. I'll not be vaccinated under any circumstance, but that's a different and less friendly thread.

  13. p6x tells me the book is in both Italian and English in the same printing. I see in the description, now: "italiane e inglese (Multilingue)". Apparently, it not a typical sequence of models, but more focused on the history and people of Moto Guzzi. I am ordering my copy for "the library." FWIW, I really have been enjoying Falloon's new book, in spite of some of the disappointments. I'm pretty bad about spending most of my time just looking at the pictures. Something I picked up from certain periodicals that others claimed they got "for the articles" . . .

  14. When this lockdown thing ends and life gets back to normal I'm going to see the guy around the corner thats a retired sheet metal craftsman that used to specialise in remaking and repairing bodywork for exotic cars and classic restorations. I'm going to ask him to teach me this art form if he will. I thought a good thing to learn on would be a V11 sport alloy tank. I'd like to actually make all the formers and bucks so I could make quite a few.....dreams,dreams. Ciao
