  2. Hello, So I started getting the itch for another air cooled Italian. I came to motorcycles fairly late in life after decades of being a bike freak (the pedal kind). My first motto was a Sporster, which grew a bit boring after a few months. Bike number 2 was a shiny new 2003 Ducati M1000 that turned out to be may first moto love for a number of reasons, but went to a new home in 2010. I have had a handful of bikes since then and still do, but not an Italian so before my time runs out I decided to give in to the desire. I have always been Guzzi curious and even looked at the Lemans when I purchased the Monster but landed on the lighter less $$ machine at the time. Anyway, I hunted down a Rosso Corsa and brought it home. It's a 2003 with 20k miles, good shape but a few items to sort out. I'm looking forward to playing around with it and I am already appreciative of this forum for the tech information. Marco69 - I am just up the road from you and you are welcome to a close look and ride to see what the v11 is like. I also really like the 1100 sport and considered one that popped up at SUB a while back. It's a good place to look for cool bikes. They have a 81 Lemans, Centuro, and MGS-01 at the moment.

  6. Hello to all , We are looking for wheels for our Le Mans Race motorbike. We are allowed to use 17" wheels because of the difficulty of finding race rubber. So to that end does anyone out there know of a wheel manufacturer building carbon fiber or mag wheels to fit our motorbikes. I can find 18" ones but finding 17's is starting to be a bitch and Guzzi OEM wheels weigh a ton ! Thanks in advance Rich

  7. Agreed @docc the bellypan doesn't have a great deal of clearance at the base either making a Vee Sump impossible. Add to that the reduced clearance perhaps restricting the ability of the finning to reject heat and the heads also being partially enclosed, won't help either The other Australia I mentioned is a series I bike and I wonder if it has a more generous belly pan then the series II Anyway apart from a larger oil cooler perhaps in the Winter I don't think there's much more I can do or check. Looking on the bright side though the bike is fine once on the open road, but city traffic is to be avoided at all costs. It is nice to look at though

  8. Welcome X! Both beautiful bikes. this forum will be a great source for sorting the RC. The SUB link is interesting. The '81 LeMans seems reasonably priced.

  10. Awesome, In the early 80’s I was invited to an informal “ 🌶 cook off” benefit at in Pepperdine University Malibu Ca. ,it was free and a daytime event , maybe $10 bucks for the chili, they played this song .. With no additional musicians, no fancy equipment, it sounded great! ... I was so impressed...

  12. Kudos to author Robert Smith for getting the origins of the Moto Guzzi big twin right in this December, 2020, article on an interesting Eldorado for Motorcycle Classics magazine: https://www.motorcycleclassics.com/classic-italian-motorcycles/zm0z21jfzols/ "(That the V7 engine was developed from Guzzi’s “mechanical mule” military project is now refuted by most authoritative sources, including marque specialist Greg Field in his book Moto Guzzi Big Twins.)"
