The guy that sold me the first bottle of S100 told me, "No need to leave it on." What he should have said is, "Don't leave it on.. spritz it on and rinse immediately, or it can do bad things." I still use it for a quicky clean up occasionally.

Not sure if we can make this a 'sticky' thread or not... This is the second time I've seen this scam - the other one was on a different motorcycle related forum like this one. I posted a "want to buy" (for the V11 rear rack - thanks for the tips there) and got a response from someone using the scotsimson01 ID: Hey buddy, I recently got some items from Carlos and he is willing to sell some V11 rear rack. You can email at carlosmaldonado60@aol.com if he still has it. I looked and that ID was registered right after I posted the "Wanted" note and his bike selection is "Harley Davidson" which seems a bit odd on a Guzzi forum... Having seen this before, I knew it was a scam, but to see how it would go I emailed the aol address and he sent a pic of a V11 rear rack that is on Google images. I asked if he'd take PayPal and he said yes but only Friends and Family (no way to recoup the money when someone rips you off with F&F PayPal, similar to Venmo CashApp etc). I said I want to use PayPal as a purchase so I will get my money back in case it doesn't arrive and he says no, only F&F. Anyways, definitely a scam. Admin - you may want to disable this account, but its not like that will stop him from registering a new one.

I had a similar situation after putting the Ram Clutch in the Scrua..The friction plate is slightly thicker..One of the things I did was to zip tie the clutch lever pulled to the bars and leave it while not riding it for the first several rides..I've done this with other bikes and it does help a little bit if their is any air bubbles in the line in clutch or brakes...over night they can slowly rise to the top. Another thing is , How many miles do you have on the new clutch? after I rode mine I noticed mine would just get slightly better and not drag as much and it began to find neutral a little easier.., I even intentionally slipped the clutch a little more than usual on occasion, It was suggested by an older and highly regarded mechanic friend of mine that it would get better after a couple of hundred miles..and it did...its about 80% better to the point it doesn't bother me at all anymore...... Welcome, Miro.. really, I wouldn't be concerned. If you want to touch it up, cleaning it with some lacquer thinner, and about any paint for metal applied with an artist's brush will do the job.

My Sport came to me from the oilfields of Southern California, with every nook and cranny filled with basically dirty, seasoned road tar. I've used everything trying to rid it of these evil dark bits, and it's clear that until it's stripped to the core I'll live with some of it. That said, the best two cleaners I tried were Westley's Bleche-White (do not let it linger, it's quite caustic) and WD-40. As an act of desperation trying to find something to clean the front wheel and fork ends, I used 'like dissolves like' and it worked. That said, I never got everything returned to new and eventually had the wheels stripped and powder coated and the forks rebuilt and vapor blasted.

I received the link in an email and it works now, thanks! The mounting instructions look like its a fairly straightforward install, with the rear inner fender needing to be trimmed to allow the Ventura crossmember brackets to protrude through it. Doesn't look like an issue and probably not really visible when the mount isn't on the bike. I'll order one and send pics!

Thank you for your answer, good to hear that I'm not the only one with this issue. No, I have not many miles (or km here in Norway 😀) on the new clutch plate, so I assume it will getting better. Jens Martin

This same scam is going on over on the AF1 Forum... I was looking for a part and put up a WTB..a new member to the forum contacted me thru PM he knew a guy who had it for sale and referred me to his e mail ...I e mailed the person he recommended and that supposed seller sent me a pictures of the parts supposedly on HIS bike. The thing he didn't realise it was one of MY old Aprilia's ( Ha Ha Ha) which I sold to a friend in Phoenix 5 years ago and still talk to all the time, so I called him and asked if he had sold the bike?..He said heck no...the guy had pulled the pictures off the internet!!..to use in his Scam..I didnt reply I just I reported them Both to the Moderator....

Thanks docc. p6x - PayPal (via their normal fund transfers - NOT Friends/Family) will refund a payment if the seller doesn't ship the product, or if you can prove to PayPal that you didn't get what you paid for. In my experience they lean heavily toward protecting the buyer and not the seller. I'm guessing this is because if I use a credit card to fund the PayPal purchase, and I request a refund from PayPal and they deny me, then I can challenge the payment with the credit card provider and Visa will freeze the funds which are now PayPal's. So instead of having their own money frozen, PayPal will freeze the funds from the seller and make them prove the buyer got what they paid for. Its a pain, and leaves honest sellers open to dishonest buyers with little recourse, but it beats Venmo/CashApp/etc where the money is just gone. The wire transfer does prove the person has a US bank account, but if they don't follow through, the money is still gone and now its up to you to try and get it back. I had a bad experience with a guy in Texas (no offense ) who I actually sent the $1200 item to with the agreement he'd pay when it arrived. 8 months of excuses: "Sorry but I had to sell that bike... medical issues... can't find the stuff you sent anymore... Lost my job and have no money...", I finally got pissed enough to exhaust my Google skills finding info on him. I got his wife to send the money after I called her at her work and threatened to call all of her co-workers and her boss to tell them she's married to a thief. All that to say, even with someone in the US its hard to get money back. I used to be much more trusting (obviously, given the story above) but unfortunately there's just too many scammers out there. You can usually tell if someone is legit by asking a few questions that require moto-specific knowledge to answer properly, asking for pictures and/or getting on the phone with them. If they send pics that are already on the internet somewhere, its not real. If they won't talk on a phone, its not real. I've had buyers ask me to send a pic with their name on a piece of paper next to the thing I'm selling and as a seller, I was happy to do that.

Hello there, Being a new here, let me start by thanking you for this and many other threads I have been consuming on this forum. I have followed your instructions and decided to take off the whole swing arm, just to grease the drive shaft. No problem with that whatsoever. After inspecting the drive shaft I have notices small flakes of paint peeling off (pics included). Nothing major, but still, me being a detailist, I would like to treat, just to have a peace of mind. I don’t think I need to go as far ar coating the whole drive shaft. I was thinking about applying a small amount of coat only locally where needed. Have you treated the shaft (or maybe other parts such as frame, et al) with locally applied paint and if so, what paint did you get the best results with? (If this topic belongs to other thread, I will be happy to remove it from here) Thanks in advance. Miro

One way I found to separate the good from the bad on forums, is to check the number of posts the individual has submitted. I would also automatically discard anyone who called me "Buddy"... this is so 60's. In any case, there is so much scam going around that it is a real challenge to understand who you are dealing with. Personally, I would always avoid PayPal and similar to settle transactions. Everything I sold I request a wire bank transfer, account to account. For some reason, people are afraid to divulge their bank account details, so with a scammer, this is the ideal deterrent. On both sides of the transaction, people will have to share Bank name, account number, Bank address, Individual's address. The transaction is recorded on both sides. To open a bank account, you need to be legitimate. If the scammer is operating from a remote country, he cannot open a US account. You cannot have a US bank account with a false address. To me, this is the safest way. Even the so-called "escrow" accounts can be forged. Bank to bank transfer is the safest. Even more now than before, since access is verified with a single use code sent to your phone.

Not as good as Stoddard solvent on grease and harder on paint. A quandary. I spent some time R&Ring the muffler brackets and compounding the paint back to where it was. So, S-100 gets used on metal, basically.

I thought that a hammer was to be prominently displayed in workshop photos...🤔

I realized the bum stop pad is the same material as the chin pad . . . Looks good, but also the rubber feels "nourished."

FWIW, here's how I solved my tailpack problem on the 1100 Sport; this worked out perfectly. I used heavy velcro on a spare pillion, cut the bag straps and screwed the buckles to the base.

I developed this exact problem on my '04 Ballabio last year. It occurred after a particularly high speed burst on the motorway. In my case, it was indeed air in the system. I bled the slave cylinder but also installed a bleeder banjo bolt on the master cylinder at the high point of the hydraulic system. Made of titanium, it is of excellent quality and not all that costly. A good addition in any event.

I assume there is a similar pushrod available for 6 speed boxes. Or, as mentioned, you may be able to use a single ball bearing to extend the current pushrod setup. If the clutch is working correctly and has no air in the system, it may be an issue with the pushrod length.

This is above my pay grade, but I have read of similar problems in older guzzis with different thickness of new clutch plates. Iirc the solution is a longer push rod or inserting a small ball bearing into the clutch throw out rod assembly to increase the overall length. Could that be your problem and how that plays out in the V11 hydraulic clutch assembly I have no idea. fwiw

Aproved with plates the way this bike is without any S problems is great up here. Yes l do like the Dynotech.de engines. The guy who did the mapping, yes please. Have l been looking for a anything odd in the 3000 area, nothing ,superb. Only about 300miles now, added new relays and better grounding to regulator, rest tlc winther hobby. Fun day out yesterday, 3 days in a row of perfect weather to ride, and a nice rendezvous up in Navasota and surrounding areas...great to have lunch with P6X, look at the red LeMans, and enjoy a little run of the big blocks thru the back roads as well as pick up another tag on the Great Tour of Texas from a different angle than a day earlier.

Stop #27: Navasota Classic Rock Café; This is actually my third Texas Tour stop, but the other two were done in my 911, so I did not report them even if you are allowed 5 without your motorcycle. Today's ride was nice because it gave the opportunity to meet with @PJPR01, so we could hit the road with two Guzzi instead of one! Here's the detail of our trip today: 130 miles, with two Bluebonnet stops on farm to market 362, and an ethanol free gas fill at Buc-ee's Waller. A very pleasant excursion, in a incredibly nice Texas weather. Nice because we had a cooling wind tempering the heat. On a less positive note, there is oil on the right hand side of the sump. I was so happy to have the starting cured....
