  1. Learning to know your bike is rewarding So easy to remove the fairing, and there she is. Vintage car H4 led version fits perfect, with a H4 halogen light pattern. 4 more on order. Cheers Tom.

  3. The transmission is not likely the culprit. The weak points for "mis-shifts" are as stated, poorly adjusted linkage, and the rider. Once the linkage is sorted one needs to "get to know" the needs of the shift process, ie: proper shift timing, rpm's and positive toe pressures. The V11 likes to be revved and will shift better at higher rpm. Adding a Lucky Phil/Chuck modified shift linkage arm will make it shift even better. ... and a Ballabio is just a trim package with the same drive train as the others.

  5. You can actually get access to a significant portion of the fuel on the Right hand side of the tank. The fuel is delivered to the pump from the left hand side of the tank but it returns it to the Right Hand side. I took the return fitting out and extended it up with a 45 at the top side so it would throw the fuel over to the Left Hand side. In theory if the tank is low and you tilt it over to the Left it should take a while to migrate back to the Right.

  7. The bench set-up on the later style eccentric (as on your 2004 Ballabio) is captioned in the "V11 Shift Improvement" thread between images #5 and #6 in the first post: "Note the different covers, the later type on the left with the shift selector arm return limit adjustable eccentric and the older type on the right with the fixed roll pin. Set up the eccentric with about 0.030" clearance to the shift arm at its closest point in the travel. This later unit also has the extra banana shaped support plate. Guzzi sell a mod kit for the earlier bikes."

  8. Hey sorry for the delay ( moving sucks lol ) pardon my ignorance, what is ETS ? Engine temperature, sensor? When the engine is on the temperature of the engine increases … I can see it on Guzzi diag. I am moving so I had to chance to ride the bike etc. Will do asap thank you

  10. @Tomchri My attempt to replace the H4 lamp with a LED fell flat on its face. There is no room for the driver inside the head light bucket. But it was a good experience to remove the fairing entirely.

  11. This issue has closed quite a few tracks over here. Tracks built and run for 40 years miles from any housing then the developers move in build housing and the people that buy them in full knowledge the track's there then get together to get it closed down due to noise issues. As the old song go's, "Money ruins everything" Phil

  12. I went to the MotoA race at Road Atlanta this year, love the track, remember seeing Nicky Hayden in his early days of AMA racing. But I have concerns about the track lasting many more years, several large neighborhoods being built within miles of the track, we are talking 1000+ homes, at least it looked that way, the city of Atlanta will swallow it soon, and I doubt another will get built in the area. I think VIR is safe for a while, Barber also, but it will take Barber money to make a new track and keep it in business.

  14. All: Sorry for the delay and for being incommunicado. April and May are always busy months for me, then my kids wrap up school, so lots of other priorities. Now on vacation (hang gliding school with kids) and next week off to Colorado for wedding (I decided instead of renting a car, I'd get a bike, so I have a used sport touring waiting for me to pick up there). Not much free time for Guzzi stuff between all this. Meanwhile, the fabricator had his big show in Vegas, lost his mold maker, and had a TKR. Between him and me, we haven't had a confluence of time to connect at great length. Last I spoke with him, he was planning to work on it last week and see if he could get quality edges with a different technique. I told him I don't need at mold that can be released a thousand times, so let's see what happens. As far as commitments go, there are none. I didn't want to take anyone's money for exactly this reason: the stars not quite aligning and people being pissed at me. It hasn't been a priority for me lately, or the fabricator. It'll be after July 4 by the time I get around to dealing with it, and then I'm at the mercy of the fabricator. I'll update when I know more, hopefully with pics of a sample. But no guarantees this will be soon.

  15. I've had a Ballabio and a I have a LeMans. Mis-Shifts for me are 90%+ position of my foot. In fact my lever is setup for the boots I wear, and if I wear shoes instead, it's all sorts of problems. Yeah!! I know !!! but seriously. Asjusting the lever position can make a world of difference. The other 10% is when I start to "find" nuetrals, it's because it's either time for an oil change or not enough oil in there. YMMV

  16. I was recently inspired to try and improve my headlight. Didn't succeed, but thought my experience might be useful to share. The deflector inside my original shell came loose some years back, and though I've been able to wire it back in the sort of vicinity of its proper location, the output and pattern is silly poor. I tried a 7" Grote sealed beam from Summit Racing (https://www.summitracing.com/parts/gte-90941-5), hoping it could be adapted without too much fuss. I found that some fuss would been needed. I may eventually go that route, if I can convince an engineer buddy to design and 3D print an adapter. In the meanwhile, I'll be sticking to daylight riding. I would be happy to hear of a source for a fully intact OEM unit.
