  1. Looking for a Benelli Sei for years! The 750 (better looking IMHO) had pretty bad reliability, the 900 is better built but still some problems because of the pressure Alejandro De Tomaso (Benelli, Guzzi and Maserati owner back in the day) put on his team to have the model ready for sale in a short period of time. All the Sei models come with 3 carburetors but some people install 6 carburetors in aftermarket. GREAT SOUND!!
  2. Maybe the picture is tricking me but I think Chuk's spark plug is perfect for a modern engine where the mixture tend to be a little bit on the lean side because of the emission regulations.
  3. I'm curious to know if the author of this post find the V11 more "difficult" to ride or at least awkwardly to drive on winding backroads compare to a smaller, lighter Speed Triple.
  4. I have for sale my voltage regulator (genuine OEM Ducati Energia) for V11s equipped with the red battery light on the dashboard. regulator has been removed form my 6000 miles V11 and was working properly. The connectors have been replaced with fast-on connections. I do have pics Looking for $150. located in CA
  5. My bike is 2002, "old style" manual petcock (and of course is leaking) The wires involved where the white/light blue and black/black out from the regulator but just to make sure I replaced all alternator/regulator connectors. You were probably right, the 17V at the battery was caused by a bad connection causing an increased resistance under the 5 and 10 fuses, this resistance was causing an increased "request of tension" form the regulator to the battery. I hope I'm done with V11 wiring for a long time!!!
  6. Guys I think I found the problem of the battery light, one of the new connector wasn't done properly and the copper inside the wire was barely touching the end of the connector, replaced the faulty connector now everything seems working properly, the battery light is ON when I turn the key and is completely off when the engine is running!! EUREKA!! The battery now has less than 15v at 3000rpm so I think the problem was a not-completely-tighten connector under the 10 and 5 amps fuses. Thanks to all of you for your tips!!
  7. Ok so... while I was trying to check what you told me I found that now the regulator is working properly, I don't know what to say... The only thing I did before turn on the bike today was check again the loosen connectors under the fuses, the first two (start counting form the form of the bike were not properly tighten. Before to say I solve the problem I want to try tomorrow again. I stil have the problem of battery light OFF with the dashboard is ON while the motor is not running , of course it turns ON if I connect a wire on the black wire from the regulator and ground it as you told me but if I do that the light remain ON while the engine is running. And the second problem is the battery light slightly ON while the engine is running at any RPM.those are the symptoms that something is not working properly somewhere inside the Luigi's wiring Any ideas?
  8. Thanks Scud I red something about the Husqvarna Terra, you can find them for a really low price but there are some serious problems like the bike dying on you at low rpm etc. so I decided to start my off-road experiences with a 1997 Suzuki DR, not so fancy but far more reliable and relatively cheap. Doy ou guys know if there are any website or apps dedicated to motorcycle off road for Californians I mean something that tells you all the hidden trails etc? My buddy got something for his MTB and he's really happy.
  9. yes, it's a separate bolt, not the seat release box. Tonight I'm gonna try what you told me, about the difference between the battery and the voltage regulator tensions. Thanks guys I appreciate your tips!
  10. You mean the big ground on the right side of the bike just under the seat lock mechanism? Yep that's nice, clean and tight. battery terminals not greased, tight and clean All the fuses are in good shape, just removed the fuse carrier and also the wires under that are clean and not burned. The battery (Odyssey) is working properly as far as I know is still cranking the engine and even after hours of sitting unused still has more than 12.6V I'm getting mad trying to find out how to solve this problem!!
  11. I wish the relays were the problem but I replaced all 5 relays (it's something I had in my mind a long time ago so this was a good occasion for replace them) and the problem is still there, I also checked the connections under the fuses, some of the connectors were a little bit loosen but this wasn't the problem. When I replaced the regulator I add a second ground wire on the other side of the regulator so I think I'm ok now. I forgot to tell that with the dashboard ON but engine OFF the battery light is OFF, I tried to manually ground the light blue connector under the thank and the battery light goes ON. Can be a alternator problem? I don't think so because if tat's the problem I should have less tension at the battery, not an overcharge.
  12. I have the opposite problem on my Le Mans, red battery light ON in the dashboard, (slightly ON, not really strong). At 3/4000 rpm the tension on the battery is more than 17V!!!! I don't want to see a battery explosion! Replaced the tension regulator, still the same problem, what can be the cause? how can properly check if the alternator is working properly? Thanks folks!
  13. As someone else already mentioned I would start with a tune up before to search for defective components.
  14. I'm reading this topic, I'm getting more and more interested in dirt/dual sport motorcycles like KLR, Suzuki DR or Husqvarna TE/ Terra.
  15. I'm using an easy-to-find Valvoline 100% synthetic 80W140 in my gearbox, (I always used 140 for Guzzi's gearbox). The annoying leak is almost completely gone. Hope this help
  16. No, I think Guzzi is developing a new engine for the next Stelvio, Griso, Norge, Bellagio, (Breva?) platform. By the way a V9 scrambler will be done soon. P.S. The name Stelvio will be used for the new Alfa Romeo SUV due to a gentlemen agreement so probably the next Guzzi's ADV bike will have a different name.
  17. Latest news, new Stelvio proto at EICMA 2017 and for sale in 2018
  18. The Guzzi engine was originally designed to fit a small car so... it works on this 3 wheeler!
  19. At the 2016 Eicma we're probably gonna see the V7III, an upgraded motor now compliant with the EURO4 regulation and probably some minor esthetic changes and the instrument cluster more similar to the V9 with the improved connectivity. As it appear the V7 racer will probably be discontinued but a new V9 racer will be introduced on the market and showed at the EICMA too. Some Piaggio/Guzzi chief in one of the latest interviews said Guzzi's fan are going to see lot of new/upgraded models but no more than one or two per year due to budget problems (it seems Guzzi is selling good all over the world, Piaggio is doing great in the far east but Aprilia is struggling worldwide, it seems all the "Aprilia racing division" and the RSV4 originated from that program is not selling well and the engineering and production costs are too high for this kind of models.
  20. Mine do the problem after a long ride. You are probably right but I can't keep watching my RPM indicator going up and down like when I switch on the high beam or the turn indicators
  21. I have the same issue, sometimes it start, sometimes not. When "she" don't want to start I can't hear the fuel pump charging, playing with the key (on/off) and with the kill switch and finally I can hear the fuel pump and it starts.
  22. Having some problems with the battery indicator on the dashboard. I removed the fuel tank and I was prepared to find some melted yellow wires but it seems the previous owner had the same problems and replaced the voltage regulator connections. They don't seems in bad conditions, bike has just 6000 miles. I'm going to clean all the connections with a spray electric cleaner and putting a second ground on the left side of the voltage regulator. Do you suggest to replace again the electric connectors?
  23. yes, never heard about a Guzzi engine destroyed by using the wrong oil.
