  1. Pretty sure I bought it at a show - I think it was a part of a kit for an adventure bike. In my defense it was a few years ago now

    Jealousy

“He is a wise man who does not grieve for the things which he has not, but rejoices for those which he has. ” ― Epictetus Though I don't quite understand how some ancient Greek philosopher understood what owning a V11 LeMans feels like
  5. These guys may be able to sort you out - http://www.osmc.co.uk It looks like they do the crossover from the picture . . .
  6. Looks like no one wants to sell theirs at the moment, can't say I blame 'em - I rather like mine Can't speak for the other four of us though! Moto Guzzi V11 Le Mans Tax/SORNLooks like there are 3 Rosso Corsa's & 11 Tenni's out there too, so the pool is preetty small . . .
  7. The rear disc bolts came out fine, I was very gentle when loading up the torque on them. The front ones were just seized up. I see that these bolts were upgraded for the later models, so I will up spec to those. I also thought about using copper slip, then another thought reminded me that these are the brakes and if they say loctite in the book there could be a reason and they certainly know more about it than I do . . .
  8. This weekend was spent spannering on the Le Mans, new discs and pads all round along with a new back tyre and the indicators seem to have slowed down so a new relay is on order. The front disc bolts - what were they thinking of ? A 5mm hex key on an 8mm bolt that was torqued up with loctite 16 years ago. I destroyed every one, 12 in all, to get the front discs off and the new bolts I ordered still haven't arrived. Good thing I enjoy playing with spanners

    handle bar weights

This is what should be in the handlebar: 1, bar end weight, held in with a short Allen bolt. To remove this hold the weight and undo the Allen bolt (I had to wrap a bit of leather round the weight & hold it with a pipe wrench). 2, this reveals the end of the counter weight, with an O ring & a roll pin to remove. 3, next is the retaining bolt (24mm spanner, M18 thread). 4, now the counter weight can be pulled out, which has a short rubber tube to stop the whole assembly from working it's way out of the handlebar. If it won't come out, you can get a 5mm drill between the counter weight rod & the handlebar tube to remove whatever is jammed up there.
  10. Been playing with the handlebar weights today, which were working their way out on every trip. Managed to source some new rubber damper tubes but the old ones would not budge - I tried hammers and everything! Turned out the innerds were replaced with lead tape & glue at some point and was all jammed in place, all a bit worrying attacking it with a drill and getting metallic flakes out when I was expecting rubber. Back to standard now. Rode her in this morning and what a difference - all the nasty vibrations have been damped out
  11. All I need is 3 wheel Mog for the set

  14. that's Ok cause the seat doesn't look very comfy. there are a couple of pics in the comments showing the seat (still not too comfy) and an alternator cover being machined from a huge chunk of alloy (Smart!).
  15. So, now he has worked out how it's done, will he be building any more V11 'Shark' exhausts?
  16. I got one with a ball on a stick that jams into the steerer tube, You just pop the cover off, grease up the 'O' rings and slide it in. This stops the GPS from interfering with the fairing and out of the rain!

  18. I'm really liking the 'Zorsts on the Greenie, Are they local or could I get hold of a set for the golden one?
  19. Headlamp reflector for driving on the right side of the road . . . Ahhhhhh, yes. and I should have added the color being in the '02 lineup...was for the US market. I love that color Yes, she is definitely a 2002 spec with black forks & a strange rubber pad on top of the tank, but registered in 2003. I assume sales were slow that year. 20. Strangely not, the bottom of the oil pan is a bit flaky and the alternator cover could do with some TLC but that is about it ☺Headlamp reflector is all present and correct - it is just for the wrong country . . . Sent from my YOGA Tablet 2-830F using Tapatalk
  21. Here's a pic of my 2003 LeMans - She must have been a 'Grey import' as the speedo is in KPH & I had to tape the headlight so it doesn't annoy approaching traffic.
