  1. Musical relay chairs while live-blogging on the forum. Tell me you wouldn't pay to see that?
  2. So can you find the Scura style fairings? Are they available new or do I just need to find a used one?
  3. I'll pack my multimeter. Any specific voltage tests you recommend? I'll stay Thursday night at my friend's place and have a chance to go over the bike and check electrical connections and the like. Also try to get a little acquainted with where things are... like the seat release... Is there an owners manual I can download? Let me guess, go check the FAQ section? Yeah, I'm headed there next.
  4. Yeah, I know, I don't even have the bike in my dirty little paws but I have to ask, where do you get a fairing like that? Were they optional for the bikes originally? Are they hard to find? I assume any fairing from the pre-2002 bikes will work? Thanks! (PS, I searched for "fairing" and didn't find anything specific to this style fairing.)
  5. I'll ask about the date. Now I need to start thinking about what to pack for the trip. I'm only taking my backpack so space will be limited. Very limited. I need to pack enough to stay warm, but also have enough space to store gear if it gets warm. So considering it's an unknown bike (to me), what should I take with me? The owner said he never did anything with the relays so those are an unknown. I think I have some Bosch relays laying around I could take. Most important thing I'm taking? AAA card. I have a small tool kit but I don't know how much of it would make it past the TSA. Do they allow zip ties on a plane? Other suggestions?
  6. There were several MotoStudio bikes at Barber last year.
  7. Not sure of the build date but it's listed as a 2001. What is the build date ? Where is the build date located? On the VIN plate?
  8. No, it will be raining in SF and then all the way up. Given the choice I'll chance the weather next week.
  9. Alright kids, rest easy. I had a flight booked for Friday to SFO but then I did the partially prudent thing and checked the forecast. Rain from SF to Portland. And a lot of it. The whole way. Not fun, doable, but not fun and if it's not fun, why do it? Ticket rebooked for next Thursday... The good news is I know how much rain gear I can stuff in my backpack... all of it! Hopefully next week I won't need it as much. Thanks for all your help, the price on the Greenie ended up being too much to pass up. Unless it breaks down somewhere in the middle of nowhere. Then I blame y'all...
  10. Not sure of the build date but it's listed as a 2001.
  11. I only dropped my Triumph once, I showed up at a bike night and was too tired. Forgot to put the kickstand down. I was too tired to even pick the bike up. Probably shouldn't have been riding...
  12. Of course if I get the green one I can start to exhibit the Greenie attitude that this forum needs more of...
  13. Let's put it this way, all things being roughly equal do you go for the bike in better condition? Or do you still go for the Greenie even if it has some wear and tear? I'll post some of the scrapes and bruises later. Which models had gas tank problems?
  14. I did say green, but if I start to have a modicum of sense I might want to look at the later bikes. I'm getting nervous about the cracked transmission now. The green bike has 18k miles on it so it's not fresh. Nor has he done anything with the electricals, unless they were done in the first 7k miles with the first owner.
  15. I'm just wondering if I should look at the later bikes as there were some improvements.
  16. So then the question is do I go for the green one (and you know I like the green) or something like a 2004 Lemans? The fairing is tempting as I'm planning on riding to Barber next year. Help me spend the money! Of course I could just be patient and see if a Rossa Corsa or a Tenni pops up...
  17. That stupid green bike made me put the Triumph on Craigslist. Super nice guy came by 5 hours later and bought it. I just texted the green bike, unless one of you %^%^& got it first.
  18. I wish that was true. I've had some bites on the Triumph but they've been on the east coast.
  19. It shows the miles. But yes, well loved.
  20. A couple shots of the Scura and some friends...
  21. In the end I'm going to try to find the best bike I can afford, with preferences as stated. It's not like they made an ugly V11 Sport...
