  1. Dig it! You're right, that set up will roar. Mid range might suffer a bit though, but it would be worth the aural experience to fide it until your neighbors revolt! Andy
  2. I got the harness setup from Lonelec. It works perfectly and they offer the proper drivers and have good customer support.
  3. That's weird because he just told me yesterday that they had gone up in price from $230 US to $250 US. Whatever it is, he's got that from me, and if it is the lower price you quote, then he can keep the difference and have a few beers on me for the holidays! Andy
  4. I'm in! Email sent to you Pete. Andy
  5. I added a PC to my 03 after adding a FBF open lid airbox, Stucchi X-over and Mistral TI cans. After adjusting, it removed the stock mid range stumble at around 4K and added a lot to the top end, which was extremely lean with the modifications. The bike pulls hard now all the way to redline. Like anything, you have to start with a good baseline tune up, make sure that all settings are spot on for fueling, TPS settings, balance, etc. and then you can fine tune with the PC. A lot of guys will reflash their ecu's once and be done with it, but I like being able to do it myself, when and if it needs it, and have been very pleased with the addition. Andy

    WORTH $5500

Congrats you are now part of a very exclusive group! Estimates vary, some say only about 66 Rossos were imported to the USA. Use genuine Ohlins fork oil and change it regularly per the owners guide. Enjoy the ride! Andy

    WORTH $5500

This is a good deal. I have an 03 Rosso so I can compare my bike with this one. My cam sensor weeps a bit also, but I havent been bothered enough by it to deal with it. Check to make sure the odometer and speedo are working as these are problematic on low miles bikes of this year. The body work is stock, seat pan is stock. The headlight looks to have been replaced at some time with a BMW one. The stock lights had clear glass, with a fluted reflector and replacements have a fluted glass with a clear reflector...no big deal. The carbon ferracci cans are nice, see if it has the open lid airfilter kit, or any other add ons like a new cross over. It should pull hard with no stumble around 4000 rpms. If it stutters and grabs, it needs to have the ecu adjusted or have a power commander installed (maybe it already does) to richen it up. I do all the maintenance on mine, have had the original seals in my Ohlins, now with 11K miles on them. These are simple bikes to maintain, and loads of fun to run. I wouldn't sell mine for this, so I think that it makes sense. You can stalk EBAy for another tach to replace the one with broken glass.
  8. Les Miserables!! Great video, but it didn't make me want to go out and do that kind of rally anytime soon. Talk about hard core? Just imagine what it took just to start up some of those 2 strokers after they froze down over night. Thanks for sharing this one. Dx
  9. Most folks seem to report the flat spot with pods. I have been using a FBF lid eliminator kit with good results. Make sure that the aluminized self stick heat shield is well stuck down, because it can be sucked off the fuel tank onto the top of the air filter! Andy When I put pods on my machine I experienced a flat spot mid rev range, I added the runners back also. My winter project is to replace the rubber with some nice SS exhaust pipe to make a couple of velocity stacks.
  10. Is anyone still selling these plates? I didn't get in on the initial order run, and would be interested...anyone have one that they want to sell me? Andy
  11. I used to take my '74 Norton Commando down to Sonny to have it tuned up when I lived in San Diego in 1977. This was a real bike shop, and Sonny is a great guy. I am sad to see the shop closing, but happy that Sonny has some good folks around him now. Andy
  12. Yeaah, that is the most asked question of any Guzzi rider...next is trying to get someone to pronounce "GUZZI" correctly... heh that's just part of why I like 'em. Good work!!
  13. Got a new one....be sure to put a protective cover over yours......mine now wears a CEE BAILEY headlight armor unit..only 18.95
  14. What about a used Triumph Street Triple. These get consistent high praise from moto publications, look like a blast to ride, and sound great too! 675cc's, maybe the bugeye headlights are a leave it or love it proposition. I kind of like them.
  15. DD, Nice looking Rosso! It looks to have most of the most common and very useful mods applied already...footpeg relocator, crossover, MG Ti exhaust, carbon rear hugger. I like the look of the carbon instrument holder too. These are great bikes, that really come into their own with miles. I love my Rosso Corsa, you will too. Welcome and congratulations on your find.
  16. [attachme nt=8761:Rosso_edited_1.jpg]Rosso Corsa #ZGUKTC0083M111228 checking in! Purchased new on 4/02/04 in from Vespa New Orleans. She's been a great ride, rock solid, no problems save a cracked left header replaced under warranty within the first year of riding. I bought her because I wanted something different, that I could do all the maintenance on, that handled well and could do some miles without complaining. I did most of the recommended performance mods.... Mistral Ti oval exhaust Stucchi X-over FBF airlid removal kit Power commander....custom "Seat of pants" mapping Mobil 1 full synthetic oil in the engine Pirelli Diablo Tires Some of the comfort stuff I changed to my liking... CRG adjustible levers Superbike grips Stainless heavy barends with cruise control Lowered footpegs Rich Maund Seat with Gel pad -nice! Recommended! MRA extended windscreen Fourmotion temp and clock Guzzi Tank Bag - RKA soft bags for traveling Some of the just for looks stuff I added.... Stuchhi carbon rear hugger carbon inlay on top triple clamp Rosso Puro black anodized head guards Temperature reading dipstick I was amazed to get the "Best Spine Frame" award at the US National Guzzi Ralley this year...what a great time! Here is Red, taken at the Rally, down at Malibu, earlier this year:
  17. Not feeling it. I just don't care for the lines, it's not organic enough, too many mismatched shapes, finishes, textures. I like custom stuff but he missed the mark on this one. What is the big radiator looking thing in front of the engine for?
  18. I noticed that all the settings were minus (-) 10 to 15 in that area. I enriched the mixture +10 throughout the 2750 to 3500 range. Andy
  19. My 03 Rosso had exactly the same problems. This is my experieince, YMMV: I tuned it, synched, valves, TPS adjusted, no air leaks on intake or exhaust, but still a pop/stutter at about 3K RPM throttle at 5-15%. Mine would be fine cool, and then act up when operating in warm/hot conditions. I have a Power Commander running a map down loaded for a bike with an FBF open air lid, Stucchi X-over, and Mistral Ti ovals. I finally decided to richen up the mixture in the "Pop zone" and voila! No more pop...solid pull through 3000 - 4000, and able to crawl in traffic in 1st gear without bucking and snorting! Andy
  20. I'm rooting for Spain! Germany barely eeeked out a win over the dark horse Turkey. Goalie Lehman was caught off guard (time to hang up the jersey, sir) many times and Lahm, whom I despise) was a wanker, until he got the winning goal at 80 some minutes. Go SPAIN GO!!

    Rossopuro Italia

Yeah, great service. Took only 3 days to get a part from Italy to my doorstep in Southern California, USA.
  22. Welcome Rob, It's looking like we'll be having a very nice spring in CC, already been on a handful of rides around the Vineyards around here. Keep us posted with your experiences, it's always fun to hear Guzzi discoveries! You'll find a lot of very helpful folks here in V11.com. Andy
  23. Yes, you can reach him at: http://www.guzzitech.com/ I have been battling the x-over blues too. I have a Stucchi X-over, and 1 cracked head pipe and so many exhaust leaks. Aaron's stainless steel shims have helped and after 2 complete assembly/disassembly with aluminum beer can shims and Henrys roofers paste I have finally sealed up that sucker. When I get some more cash, I'll be buying Todd's head pipes and ditching the X-over altogether. It's a pain when you remove the alternator cover, and a leak prone design. Dx
  24. No not really at all! I'm the 'nuck that bought your MG bag and I know what you mean about it's limitations. It's a pain to install and remove, and the underlying attachment is fuggly. I did make a synthetic sheepskin sub pad that has kept the paint good on my Rosso....so that is one option. Any dirt or grit that encounters the stock pad will make it into sandpaper!! Andy
