  1. Jorge Martin has shown the field: -"de quel bois il se chauffe"; which literal translation reads: "he has shown the kind of wood he uses to get warm". English translation is: -"what he is made of"
  2. One way to look at it; Jorge Martin is the second loser; said that he suffered a lot from chattering and vibrations, something he has been complaining a lot from the get-go... MM93 is fourth in the championship, minus 10. Looking at the Honda disaster, he can only be happy about his move.
  3. Is Marc Marquez going to make his first podium at Portimao this week-end? He seems to be going pretty well, on his second GP. If it does not get on top, he will not be far.
  4. The dealer says he is already offering a discount, the price is 14,500 including a warranty. Given the rarity of the Tenni, he is trying to max the profit. The pristine conditions are certainly part of it. 170 motorcycles is really nothing. The Ewan McGregor Tenni was sold for 9,550 USD October 2023. https://iconicmotorbikeauctions.com/auction/2002-moto-guzzi-v11-lemans-tenni/ I am sure the price can be negotiated down. Now, unfortunately, the cost of handling and shipping is no longer cheap.
  5. I own some exclusive guitars, based on the number produced, but also because at one point in my aspiring guitar player path, I thought that it would be better for me to get guitar built around my own aspirations. I think today's guitar market is oversaturated with the so-called "Boutique" and self-declared Luthiers. The prices have gone insane with little justification. I am wondering when the market is going to collapse. Yesterday's guitars priced around the 500 USD are today's at 1500 USD. The very well known brands are selling guitars well above the 10,000 USD. I am a big fan of Gregor Hilden, and I got a German luthier to make me a Gregor Hilden signature... Helliver; https://legendary-guitars.com/de/helliver-guitars-aus-muenster/ This guy makes incredible guitars at a fair pricing, and closer to you than Maton...
  6. I reviewed the V11 workshop manual "updated" 2003; the one I have is in Italian, Spanish and French. But it clearly says Fuse #5 15A "avvio, arranque, demarrage" also. Just substitute that fuse to be certain.
  7. Although they now have a visible way to identify when they are blown, it is always good to use an ohmmeter to be certain. If you do not have a multimeter, then swapping is a good way too.
  8. Yet, I found my Quota through Facebook Marketplace, and the seller was super nice. Prior to that, I had two good experiences with other sellers, including one when I flew to Boise Idaho. Like anything else, I think it is a hit or miss, depending on the individuals. Incidentally, I purchased my V11 from a dealership in Florida, from a Cycletrader add, and it turned out to be a much more frustrating experience. While the guy I interacted with seemed super nice and willing, the day I flew there to pick up the bike, I found out that it was far from "ready to ride" as I had been told throughout.
  9. I recently had this issue myself. I used the horn and lost the lights, including the low oil pressure warning. The 15 amps fuse in position 5 from the left had been somewhat swapped with the one in position 6. Adding the horn to the rest was too much for the 5 Amps fuse.
  10. Not my color, but the bike is spotless! It may have sold already? when I looked for a Quota, I found out that people forget to remove the bikes from the market after they have sold. I do too, however I am part of the Quota group now, and it works a bit like this forum, so I have at least found one use for FB.
  11. Accordion was big in France as the main instrument. We used to have some big names associated with it. Interestingly, most accordions were made in Italy, where all the good things come from... Cavagnolo, Fratelli Crosio... I just found that the tradition is perpetuated, still.... lots of Accordion based "Bal-musette" as they were known, and going strong with young people learning the craft. Notice she plays a Cavagnolo... who knows, she may have a Moto Guzzi too!
  12. Wasn't Tommy Emmanuel playing on Maton guitars? I did not know they made electrics.
  13. From the article published on Motociclismo.it March 20th, Moto Guzzi asked to renew the authorization to trade mark "Stornello" in the USA. Here is the article: https://www.motociclismo.it/moto-guzzi-torna-la-stornello-84285 While the Stornello made a brief come back as a V7 variant, (The article has photos), Motociclismo thinks Guzzi may use the Aprilia 457 twin vertical engine as the power plant which was already the subject of a thread on this forum. If this turns out to be the case, the answer will be shown at EICMA in November 2025.
  14. Mine was recently cured with a TPS and new ECU mapping. The infamous 3000 misses have completely gone, at least for now. This will need to be confirmed when the weather starts to become more Texas. I am guessing Florida is not so different, maybe a tad less humid? One of the side effects is that my gas mileage has drastically changed. I used to be in the +40ish, such as 42/44 stable highway posted speed. I am now around 38 MPG in the same conditions. Again, insofar the temperatures in Texas have been forgiving. My idle was low, around 800 rpm instead of the preconized 1200 rpm which has now been adjusted. However, before my 800 rpm were like clockwork. Today, my 1200 rpm is steady for the most part, but from time to time, it drops and comes back up. This happens when the engine is well in temperature.
  15. This is what happened with the Quota; In Europe, sales tax is only due when the vehicle is new. You don't keep paying sales tax multiple times, which makes sense?
  16. My Quota is also soon to be 25 years old, in 2025. I checked the Texas rules: The language is broad enough that I can "parade" my Quota every day for public interest.... That said, the "state inspection" is just a money grab, when it comes to motorcycles. The French which have so far managed to resist the European obligation to do the inspection for motorcycles have brought factual evidence that less than 5% of the accidents are caused by equipment failure. I also found that in Arizona, there is no tax involved for motorcycle private sales.
  17. It's official today, Fermin Aldeguer will ride on a Ducati from 2025. It is either at Pramac or the Factory team. Pramac, Gresini, VR46 have their Ducati contracts up for renewal in 2025. As Ducati confirmed his arrival to ride on a Ducati, at this very moment, only Enea Bastianini's bike is available until Pramac, Gresini, VR46 have signed their new contracts with Ducati. Everybody expects Pramac to continue with Ducati.
  18. Yes, obviously finding one in the US would be ideal. Given that the Tenni has been officially imported in the USA when it was commercialized, there is no federal impediment, nor should there be any at your state level. When I moved to Houston in 2008, I imported a lot of personal property devoid of vehicles, since I was provided with a company car. However, having looked at importing a car that was never commercialized in the USA, it is not really complicated, especially if the vehicle has reached 25 years since manufacturing date. But the Tenni has been imported in the USA, so it should be in the list of accredited imports. You should be able to find it on the web. If you are not fazed by the financial aspect, you can easily mandate a company for a turnkey deal. They will take care of everything on your behalf, including clearing US customs and registration in the State where they operate. Thereafter, you only need to transfer the title to your state. There are many companies offering the service; here's one: https://www.schumachercargo.com/usa-car-imports/ They are not the only ones! there are plenty, including in Europe. Or you can wait until one turns up in the USA, which is the easiest and cheapest.
  19. Agreed with the rationale... However, this one has an o'ring. Typically, o'ring act as a lock when pressurized, since they expand into the gap to seal it.
  20. Here's one: https://www.moto.it/moto-usate/moto-guzzi/v11/v11-le-mans-tenni-2002-03/8622739 This add was posted on December 31st, 2023. This is from a dealership, probably easier for a US based customer to deal with. A quick translation of what the listing states: 15,000 km (I let you convert in miles) Pristine condition Carbon terminals (originals are included) Original sides are packed (I don't know why) Full history available, two ignition keys. They also offer a warranty. Discounted price is 14,500 EUR. The Moto.it site has an email reply option and a telephone #. You could probably negotiate the price a bit further, given that you would export the vehicle outside of Europe. Looking at the number of motorcycle you own, I am guessing you do not need any further assistance. If you did, send me a personal message. Good luck!
  21. I always have been under the assumption those oil filters are supposed to be hand tight. Even if it "does not feel right"... This is a subject of endless discussions across every forum. On my V11, I do "reasonably" hand tight, and so far, did not notice anything astray. Using a worm clamp around the filter feels "overkill". The fine thread pitch of the oil filter access makes it easy to damage. They should have opted for a coarser one, making it easier to engage.
  22. Lots of VW adds here for the Taos... In my neck of the woods, we have a plethora of soccer mums running around in Cayenne, Maican, and the occasional Taycan. The 911 remains a boy's toy. I have seen a few young ladies running Boxters, but that is about it. The 911 is not up to today's comfort standards. There aren't many Audi SUV either, BMW seems to dominate the market. Tesla aplenty!!!
  23. looks like it coming out of the showroom....
  24. I have currently four vehicles, maybe five if I get a sports tourer. None of my vehicles get to renew registration on the same date, and for the sake of coalescing unwanted tasks, I went to my tax office and ask them to pool together the registration dates; obviously prorating so it remains fair for both sides. The clerk I spoke to said it was not possible to do it, as their software has no provision for that; she also said nobody would want to pay the registration renewal in one go, instead of having it been spaced. I really cannot believe nobody else thought about doing it one time per year, instead of multiple times along. It may be only me? I pay in person at the tax office. I have seen that many of you have a lot more vehicles than I do. Can you group your registrations in your respective states if you wanted to?
