  1. I got my Nero Corsa from Mike Haven several years ago. Beautiful machine. The Ohlin suspension makes the bike ride higher than my Sport Naked. Same with my Cafe Sport. Both bikes have been gone through and resprung to my weight by GMD Computrack down in Georgia. Wick
  2. I'm looking for a left clip-on for a '03 V11 Sport Naked. I'd take a pair if someone has them taking up space in the garage after a handlebar conversion. Wick
  3. Drama aside, it appears that only 2 of three late model V11's I own have the spacer/shim/whatever. Now I get to take all of them apart and see what is going on. Great........... Next thing I know, I'll be holding someone's spindle. Really great............................. Wick

  7. It is just my opinion, but, cafe bike implies clip-on controls. The other factor is this set up matches my Nero Corsa identically. And, it is still all factory Guzzi regarding the parts. When I picked up the bike from Mike Haven's shop after the mod's, he commented that this was perhaps the best new Guzzi he had ever delivered. This was after he did the first 600 miles on the bike so as to deliver it to me with the first service done. I rode the bike back from Houston to Memphis straight through and never touched a wheel on the interstate. This bike should be a contender for bike of the month, but, I've never taken the time to send photos to Jaap. Thanks to all for your positive comments on my Cafe Sport. It's a special bike in my now 17 bike collection. Wick
  8. My Nero Corsa reset knob was broken on delivery, too. The Cafe Sport's knob still works. I have the new knob for the Nero, but the plastic piece came off leaving the brass insert still stuck to the shaft. Plan to get it fixed next trip to Houston. Wick
  9. MPH Cycles (Site Sponsor) has the bar risers. I've got them on my Nero and Cafe Sport. I also did the MRA windscreen on the Nero. Both parts are of real quality. Wick
  10. I thought that the ecu needs to see several revolutions in the start cycle before it is ready to light off the engine. I use the several seconds of cranking method and don't use the quasi-choke. It only cracks the throttle a bit, like a fast idle. I just increase the throttle until it catches and then back off a bit for the warm up. Wick
  11. Mike Haven modded my Cafe Sport to clip on's with the MPH risers and converted the front fairing to the old style handlebar mounted c.f. windscreen. A Bosch headlight assembly was required to complete the mod. The light that comes on the Ballabio sticks out about a half inch or so and and didn't look right and was replaced. This was done with all factory V11 parts, save the bar risers. I'll be glad to email you some photos, or Greg Field can send you copies of the some I sent him. Todd may have taken some snaps pre-delivery as well. This retro mod to a Cafe Sport is easily done. Just be prepared to pay for the parts and spend some time changing them out. The Haven's at MPH as they say, have been there, done that, and have a very happy customer. Wick
  12. How much were those pipes?? Wick

I think you both are the best Guzzi parts guys on the planet! Wick (infamous parts buyer)
  14. Hi Docc, I'm going to miss another of the raids as I will be at the RA rally at the Biltmore. My guess is that this will be the first and last motorcycle rally there and I don't want to miss it. (Hope not, really) Wick
  15. Hi Todd. Don't mind your reposting photos of the best set-up Cafe Sport on the planet at all. Wick!! (I think my next Guzzi will be a Stelvio fully bagged for rally raids)
  16. M-4's , no need for power commander, just a good setup. I have them on three spine frames. Great sound, superb performance. If we loose M-4 pipes as the only U.S. V11 after-market exhaust mfrs. and we loose big-time. If you want pipes for a V11 and straight up info, call Mike or Todd at MPH. On the other hand, if you are in the market for a Ducati 1098, then go for the 1/2 system Termignoni pipes. Awesome sound, maybe too loud, but, jeez, I absolutely recommend them. Anybody want any stock V11 or Ducati Multistrada or 1098 mufflers????? Wick
  17. Apparently, the Ducati 1098 is also running a voltage sensitive ecu. I was told to make sure the battery was properly charged in the pre-delivery setup so as to run 14+ volts. Wick
  18. I just bought a pair of them for my SR500 cafe bike project. Google will get you a bunch of hits. I got mine from bevelheaven a ducati shop. Wick
  19. Hey Mike, I'm betting there aren't over 40 of the Nero Corsa's currently running in the States. I'll even say less than 30. Besides you and I, who's got one? Wick
  20. M4's are light compared to the factory boat anchors. The red M4 logo's are removable by drilling out the rivets and either replacing the rivets in black, or, as Mr Haven did on my Cafe Sport, simply covered with a really cool silver aluminum stick-on that has a Guzzi-like Eagle on it made for that purpose. Call MPH for details.......... Wick
  21. I've got three sets of the carbon M4's from MPH. They sound great at idle and get quiet as you gain speed so as to not be irritating on a long ride. They fit up easily and are well made. M4's have gone to a different design on my last set. They are a bit shorter and the carbon fiber used wasn't as black. Matched my Cafe Sport color a lot better. Almost like it was made for that particular bike. I've heard a Quat-D. Didn't like its harsh sound. I do like the design though. Just didn't sound that good to me. Mistrals boom more than the M4's, but sound pretty good. Just my opinion............. Wick
  22. Stormsedge, I think I read some time ago that you should leave the bike parked in gear to take the load off the neutral switch spring. Apparently it is weak and will deform inoperative. Do you normally leave your bike in gear, or, out of gear when stored?? Wick

Just click on the MPH site sponsor tile upper left on the page. Then look for the tech manuals tile on their website. It's all there.............. Wick
  24. I've put Edge-guards and battery tender leads on all three of my V11 variants. I finally learned to grab the stack of terminals with a pair of hemostats to hold them together before unscrewing the fastener. It made it really easy to keep the original orientation and order. Of course, do the ground lead first to avoid shorting the battery. Wick
  25. I had a hard time believing how much that tank bag went for. I was as suprised that I got the rear rack for under 200 bucks. The Guzzi made racks are incredibly light and well made compared to some other aftermarket designs I've seen. Wick
