  2. Has #128 shown up anywhere yet since I sold her? I'd love to have another some day.
  3. 00000_iFpsr803D4x_600x450.jpg00H0H_3oiqkyiUzjE_600x450.jpg00k0k_46A9cCA0bzC_600x450.jpg00u0u_25o6hw74pto_600x450.jpg00Y0Y_j8aBcys52uf_600x450.jpg01212_9LS6Oyp0dnD_600x450.jpg That's my old Tenni. Changed hands a few times since I traded it off, and actually went and looked at it. It's been exposed to weather and sun since it left my garage, but certainly not too bad. It's still for sale in the S.D. craigslist.
  4. Can't say for sure...I bought it in 2005 out of a now closed shop in Oceanside. It had about 5,000 or so on it then, with a failed rotor and stator causing charging issues. I owned it until last year with 30,000 miles on it, traded it for a Futura, and it's changed hands twice since then (yet only collected another 2,000 miles between them for some reason ) Emailed the current owner...says it's not what he wants, but I suspect the persistent sneeze/cough at 2500RPM I'd never been able to fully solve is scaring them off. I just never rode it slow enough to care I s'pose. I've toyed with selling one of my airheads to get it back, but can't quite get myself there yet. Mostly because I can't afford to have it as just a toy, and I think my next main ride will likely be a used Stelvio. If I bring the V11 back home, any chance at talking the wife into a Stelvio will be infinitely more difficult.
  5. My Tenni is still for sale on CL in San Diego...I wish I could could buy it from the guy, but it's not in the cards at the present time.
  6. Anyone checked in as the new owner of #128 yet? The guy that bought it from me sold it on pretty soon after, and I'd kind of like to keep tabs on it.
  7. I used good quality heat sealed spades on mine. Closest thing I found to use there was a weather pack style but it was too bulky IMO.

    Brand-new Scura

Yeah, I used the wrinkled HD paint on mine when I bought the bike in 2004. Looked just fine standing next to it, and you couldn't see the difference unless you got right up on it. I knocked down the worst of the bubbling with a wire brush, feathered the edges with 600-grit, degreased it and applied the paint with the motor in situ with some careful masking. It still looked fine when I sold it last April. I recall it had some specific instructions to get it to do it's wrinkle thing, but it wasn't hard or overly sensitive to my ham-fisted and impatient methods.
  9. My old Tenni (128) is back up for sale on the San Diego CL...but fair warning that if my Futura sells this week I'm probably going to buy it right back.
  10. 7400 miles...I can only imagine what kind of 12 year old teething issues you'll find with mileage that low. Still, a nice bike. That's the color of the first V11 I ever rode
  11. Of course I sent him this direction...nice guy. The bike had become my only real commuter, since my BMW clean up turned into a full restoration. It needs to be someone's second, fair weather bike and it was going to be awhile until I could get another one. I have no chance of making it too long without a V11 so I'll be on the hunt as soon as the new child arrives and the dust settles around here a bit.
  12. Tenni #128 just found a new owner. Traded in part for a very well-kept Aprilia Futura. I am sure the gentleman that picked it up will be taking very good care of it, and I will get right of first refusal if he decides to let it go in the future.
  13. I'm having a moment of weakness, and after much deliberation I am thinking about selling my Tenni. 2002 LeMans Tenni #128. 30,300 miles and counting. It has a new front, and fairly new rear Pirelli Angels. Brakes are good. Turn signals are Buell. I have the luggage rack for it. I have both the black seat and the fake brown leather one. Back shock is a Penske, sprung for a 210 lbs rider. Front springs are 1.0 from Todd at Guzzitech. There are aftermarket K&N's on it, but I have the stock air box and lid. It has a PC3 with an 'ok' map on it. It still sputters and kicks a bit when hot around 2800 RPM. There's plenty of fixes for this...you just have to pick a side of the fence to go with. I've mostly just dealt with it. Runs like a cut snake when cool, starts to get a little grumpy once hot. FBF pipes and x-over. New brake lines, fresh fluids throughout. Tach is dead, and there's a functional but ugly generic one in the hole. It works. I think it's from a boat. It's kinda ugly. Left switch pod is new, stock one died. Has aftermarket Verlicchi (sp?) bars on it, and one 12V outlet for the GPS. Overall the bikes in good shape, but I ride it regularly and it's not a museum piece. Asking enough to get a Buell S2T maybe, or a Ulysses. Say, $5000 or so? Also available, a very nice (and expensive, I might add) framed four-panel picture with high quality color copies of the four paged Tenni brochure, and the original brochure. $5000 or best offer. Located in San Diego, CA Not extremely motivated to sell. In fact I feel downright guilty even thinking about it, but hey. It's just stuff, right? This has been a very, very enjoyable motorcycle for me and maybe it's time to let someone else enjoy a little 2V Tenni magic for awhile. You won't likely see another one...
  14. Ha, yeah I caught that. I missed the exhaust so I couldn't quite tell it was a Griso (I thought it was a Cali). but I did see the valve cover. What a wonderful sound that car makes. Too bad about the rest of the entire thing being such a waste of time.
  15. What an appropriate day for an update to this thread. I am just now, after a rather long day at work and having just noticed a new oil leak coming from the timing chest, sitting down for a beer. We did a crawfish boil this weekend and there's a cooler just outside the door full of Ballast Point Big Eye IPA. And it is delicious.
  16. 5mm...perfect. Thanks! And yes, docc, I'm referring to the little puck that sits in the housing.
  17. That's the technical name... I lost mine changing the micro switch, and need to know if anyone either a) knows where a replacement can be found, or b ) knows, or can mic out for me, the dimensions so I can make one out of something. Oh, and happy new years!

    Tenni Owners

Best of luck! Mine's definitely not pristine...way too much fun to ride I have seen maybe three for sale stateside in the last few years that appear to have either been kept as collectibles or just unused. I'm sure they'll come up again for sale, just a matter of time.
  19. So, my LH switch pod gave up the ghost. Specifically, the hi/low beam switch quit switching on me, and the action on the turn signal cancel detent had gone south. So, I wired up the K&S 12-0030 universal handlebar switch today. I've had the switch on the shelf for a few years now, but it's still available when I looked online today. Quality is surprisingly high for the price (I paid $60.00 at a local shop) and the wiring wasn't too bad. Functionality seems pretty good, with all the switch positions working as advertised and the switches all have a nice, positive action. Anyway, it's done and I thought I'd post the wiring colors and what they match up to. Might save someone a little time. This is for a 2002 LeMans FWIW, and of course you'd want to verify your own wiring. K&S wiring: Guzzi: Function: Yellow-------------White Passing Hi beam Black--------------Gray Horn ground Brown-------------Red/Blue Left Turn Signal Green-------------Black Low Beam Brown-white-----Black/Blue Turn Signal Main Red/yellow-------Green Headlight Main Blue----------------Not used Not Used Pink----------------Blue Horn Main Dark green-------Red/Black Right Turn Signal
  20. It was referenced as an alternative fit for the two-pin, 552 flasher, Novita brand LL552. Now that I think about it though this one may not be solid state. I think it's just electro-mechanical instead of thermal. Either way, it's another example of a cheap fix for a silly problem I've been letting bother me for way too long. That's what happens when you have too many projects going at the same time!
  21. Well, turns out the thermal 522 flasher that's in our bikes is the same one in my 1964 Chevy truck, which says something, though I'm not sure what exactly. Anyway I swapped them around and it was the same thing...a full second's delay until it started. I think it's got to be in the resistance of the bulbs, since it works fine in the truck. Seems like the higher the resistance in the circuit the faster the flash. So, risking $7.00 on a fool's errand I picked up an electronic, solid-state flasher unit and that took care of it. Hit the switch, flashers flash. So, if anyone else is bothered by it, that seems to be the ticket.
  22. Yes. Actually, like I said at the beginning it's an annoyance that I thought I'd seen a fix for in some long-gone thread. I thought if it was something similar to the spring mix-up between the fast idle lever and seat release that once discovered, fixed an annoying trait, then it would be worth dredging up. Is it a huge problem? No, not really. But is it annoying and non-standard? Absolutely. Paricularly on the freeways here in Southern California where things happen quickly, that delay is a factor while making my way through traffic.
  23. I'll check out the pins and flasher. Like I said, I don't think it's a problem with functionality of the system as much as it is just...well, stupid wiring logic. In all likelihood it's just the flasher being normally open like Kiwi_roy said. Hmmm.
