  1. Gentlemen, Thanks to all! I dug through my garbage this morning, found the old filter and, sure enough, the gasket was missing. Gee, I wonder where is might be! Looks like I made a real amateur mistake which makes total sense when I think about it. You guys are the best! Thanks
  2. I just finished changing the oil on my V11 Sport Cafe Coppa Italia. As usual I completely removed the oil sump including detaching the oil line at the rear. Changed out the filter and replaced the sump. Filled it with 4 qts of oil. I started the engine up and the oil light would not go off! I let it run for a few seconds and shut it off. Started it again and shut it off again after a few seconds as the oil light still stayed lit. Now I do not want to start it again until I can figure out what is going on here. Any ideas? Anyone had this problem in the past? I am wondering it I could have damaged the oil pump but I really don't see how that could have happened. Also wondering if something has blocked up the oil line perhaps. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  4. When I receive it I will let you know if I can get it to fit.
  5. Thanks Troutman!!! I just order one.
  6. TroutMan, Is this still available? If so can you post a website through which I can contact them. I need one of these. Thanks, Mike
  7. Shipping from the UK will cost as much as the item. Besides, my stock piece is broken and needs replacement. Not sure what the stock piece costs or even if I can get one. At least this one comes with turn signals.
  8. Shipping from the UK will cost as much as the item. Close but not quite!
  9. Ok, Made my best guess from your pics. This is what I ordered: http://www.ebay.com/itm/253162149637 Hope it works! Mike
  10. Any way you can be more specific on that tidy tail? I did an online search and seems that there are a lot list for YZF R125. Not sure but it looks like it might depend on model year? Anyway, any help you can give me is appreciated. Thanks, Mike
  11. Installed the crankcase filter. So far so good. Had some real sputtering issues on a hot day though. Pulled the plug. Look a bit too sooty so I used the Power Commander to lean out the mixture at low throttle settings. Seems to have done the trick. So far anyway. I have to say I like the look of the bike much better this way. I can now see that beautiful Ohlins Shock for the first time. If I can get it running properly I will be quite happy with the mod. Thanks to everyone for your help!
  12. Thanks. You would not happen to know which filter fits?
  13. Ok...Here they are fitted. So far so good. One question. There is a hose that runs down the spine in from of the airbox that I had to detach. Is this a drain or intake? Do I need to get a filter on the end of it or re-route it? Thanks
  14. I think that the length of the inlet duct, and the shape of the bellmouth at the end are important. There is a filter that will fit, see the picture in this post: http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=19581&page=2&do=findComment&comment=215103 This is what I was intending but it seems to me that you either have to cut the bell off of the stack in order to fit the 60mm filter, buy a larger filter that can fit order the bell mouth, or perhaps the 60mm can be stretched to fit over the bell (this would be ideal I think). By the way, I really like the way that one is set up. Looks great in my opinion. Mike
  15. Took a look at the stacks. I see that they are easy to remove but they flare out at the end so in order to fit 60mm pods it looks like I will have to cut off the end which means that there is no going back without getting a new set. For now I guess I will just go ahead and attach directly to the throttle bodies.
  16. I also wonder about what Triumph has done with the Thruxton. That is adding water cooling in such a way as to maintain the classic look of the bike while giving it a more modern feel and level of power. Perhaps MG might consider something along those lines? I also wonder what MG would look like if they had not dropped out of racing back in the 50s? Perhaps I would not like them so much in that case.
  17. Welcome to the MG family and the forum. I think the black rocker covers look great. Better than brown for sure. I imagine you will be very happy with your decision. Keep us posted!
  18. Since I am considering pods I have been checking out various details in and around the air box in preparation to remove it. I noticed that just behind each intake snorkel (point down) is a plastic port/nipple that looks like it SHOULD have some tube attached. Neither of mine does and they just appear to be open. Is this normal? Should I be looking for some loose vacuum hoses or something? Thanks!
  19. I kind of wish they would produce a V7 style bike but with a V11 motor. Not sure why they stopped a 900cc.
  20. Just curious if there are any former (or current) V11 Sport owners out there that have switched to the new V7? If so, why did you make the switch and how do these two compare? I imagine that the V7 does not have the same power output but being that it is a more modern design I thinking that the gap is probably not as wide as I imagine. I am guessing they also handle very well. I ask because, who knows, someday I may be in the market for a new bike and the V7 is one I would probably check out. I have test driven a Cal 1400 and that was really nice. Just a bit on the heavy/big side but a really nice ride. Never ridden a Griso and the new V9s just don't appeal to me aesthetically (although I have only seen pics). Kind of wish they would just have put the 900 engine in a V7 frame and kept the styling closer to the original V7 Sport which I think is one of the most beautiful bikes ever made. Thanks
  21. Thanks for the advice everyone. Good advice on the stacks. I did not know that they can be salvaged from the airbox. I will check that out. I do want to have longer stacks but it seems about impossible to find them anymore (like everything else Guzzi). There used to be some really nice aluminum ones available years ago I seem to remember but those are long gone. I have a power commander and live in Morristown NJ. Anybody happen to know if there is anybody in my area that does custom maps? Thanks!
  22. Two out of three ain't bad. That being the first two.
  23. This is a question for the guys that have installed pod filters (particularly K&Ns). I have a 2004 Cafe Sport Coppa Italia and I am thinking about giving this a try. What size do I need? I guess I can just pull the collar off of one of the throttle bodies and measure but I was hoping one of you could just point me to the correct model and size. Thanks, Mike
  24. Im right now debating on getting a set of these for the Scura. This guy also sells these with a black crinkle coat... I've seen them with the "Guzzi" brushed on the black. They really pop... If you do order them from ebay I suggest you get a set of 'good' gaskets. The ones that come with the covers are crap in my opinion.
