  1. are they seimens relays that came on the bike..? if so replace them all.. I wonder about a dirty ignition switch or it could be bad?
  2. could the noise be tank suck? if you open the cap do you get a woosh?
  3. you can get a new micro switch from Radio Shack for a couple bucks.. bring the old one in and go thru the drawers to match one up.. you might have to break off a little tab on the new one to make it fit.. don't expect the clerk to know anything about your needs.. in the old days the guy would know what you need but now it will just be a kid there who knows nothing.

    My 950S

    thanks for posting.. real nice!
  5. Ratch, the cali's have a cable. motomoto, do you have one o them one plate clutches? sounds like it might be going bye bye.. how many miles? actually it's the 03 with the single plate clutch but you could still have it. http://wildguzzi.com/forum/index.php?topic=25317.0
  6. sounds like you need to rev your motor more, these thing love it over 5k.. I ride over 4 k all the time,in or out of town.
  7. SH, NICE! tell about the Breva cam please.
  8. THANKS! I finally know what the attraction is for me, I"M A LEFTY! If a Nero showed up near me for say 6500. I'd try to sell my car, dog and other motorcycle to get it.. that would be a good deal... If I owned one I would value it around 9,000. that's just me.
  9. sounds like bunk to me, they must be hard up for work.. have you ever had the throttle bodies balanced? on the Tonti bikes the sidestand switch is known to cut out the motor over bumps, do the V11's have the same SS switch delicacy? that seafoam is pretty magic stuff, I would start there, was your gas old? your bike needs a good thrashing and it will probably respond!
  10. a friend made an extension to my clutch lever to fit the original hose w/bar backs. didn't need it on the brake side.
  11. I take off the alternator cover and turn the motor ( clockwise looking from the front) w/a socket on the front nut. (plugs out) that way you can be near the hole to watch for the D or S.. I put my thumb over the plug hole to feel for the compression stroke. grossohc- you must have the compression stroke TDC not the exhaust stroke.
  12. my favorite gas comes from Leroy's it cost 247./gal yesterday.. It's premium NON-OXY and sold at a lot of petrol stations in MN and Wisconsin.
  13. spose the proper way would be to drop the motor out of the bike then? I want to ride so prolly not til next winter.
  14. did you strip the old paint first? how?
  15. http://www.guzzitech.com/guzzi007/schematics/2000_Jackal.gif bad regulator?
  16. I think switch is the wrong term but never mind.. Yes I did re-set the base line TPS and re synced TB's then brought the TPS voltage up to near 525Mv at idle (last summer). I don't have the software to set it by degree but I believe I am pretty right on, man I hope she rolls out ready to ride maybe as soon as tomorrow if the weather holds out. I have my other ride out but not tuned so I'll be doing TB sync on the EVert first. and I've been riding the toy since New Years Day!
  17. from what I have gleaned here you need an aftermarket cross over (Mistral) to settle the low speed surge or ride at higher RPM. by all means check the throttle body sync, that might solve it. a PC will help too. I filled my bars w/BB's and it helped considerably w/the clip on vibes.
  18. bleeding the clutch is the easy part getting your hand and a tool in there to loosen the bleeder valve is the tough bit...
  19. Yes, I have one in now. 34 bucks from chicagoharley.com. i read the same article. had a stumble/cough @4200rpm, it got a little better. I need a Mistral crossover, used and cheap, anyone? seat of pants? can't tell any difference. I don't run max speeds (around here it's hard to get into 6th) so I hope the lean condition is a non issue... I just got the Roper plate installed and have all next week off, spring has arrived in Minnesota and if it's not raining for days, I'm gone !
  20. thanks for the instructions! got mine done today home on sick leave.
  21. welcome! I like bar end mirrors too but I need bar end weights to tame the vibes. Switching to handle bars might get rid of some of the vibes.
  22. my experience w/the friends cal 1100i (I think '96) the TPS is much larger physically.. the EV and my V11 Lemans use the same TPS. I have tried the HD sub and can't notice any difference from a good stock one, accept the price 42.00 from chicagoharley.com I know someone else w/a 97 cal and he made a new holder so he could adapt the HD TPS to the older throttle body. but I don't have a pic of it.
