  1. Oh and I confirm the midges are out in force!!!!!!!!!
  2. Popped down to say hello to all the guys at Ken Bridge, sorry I couldnt wait any time. Here is awee pic from tonight.
  3. Hi, there is an bike auto-jumble in Peebles on the 11th of May.....nice bit of country....or if looking for good roads /veiws just head west. My favorite is to head over to Dunoon(short ferry crossing by Western Ferries, not Caledonian McBrayne) Glendaruel,Otter Ferry(smashing restraunt). Basically if you stick to the west coast you cant go wrong. Also check out Ardnamurchan Point (the most westerly point in the UK) Its a single track road and a dead end so you need to retrace your route back but well worth it. Then there is Mallaig, Glen Coe of course, and the road south of Oban and ..........sorry I am rambling again!
  4. Funny you should mention heading north east. I had a route all typed out in my original post but deleted it at the last minute!! So how about A702 via Moniaive to Thornhill. The A76 north then back onto A702 through the Dalveen Pass. Then double back via Leadhills, Wanlockhead (the highest village in Scotland) and back via New Cumnock Dalmellington.
  5. You are probably right about the Ayr /Stranraer it can be a bit busy. But dont worry about the cameras, they point forward and cant get motorcycles. But the reason they are there is that it is a busy road and can be a bit dangerous with people rushing to get the ferries. So in second thoughts how about heading inland after Girvan? Again its just a thought for you guys to decide.
  6. Hi Guy, I live pretty close to Ken Bridge so here is my 2p worth. A712 to Newton Stewart, A714 north towards Glentrool village take the little single track road to Straiton. You would think you are in the Highlands on this road. Then You could head up to Ayr and visit Moto Ecosse (Guzzi Dealer) and head back south on the A719 via Dunure, Maidens ,Turnberry joining the A 77 south to Stranraer. On a clear day you get smashing veiws along here over to Arran and Ailsa Craig. Then back across to Newton Stewart, New Galloway. There is a smashing tea room at Clatteringshaws Loch just outside New Galloway. There are also lots of smashing little towns along the coast. I have already mentioned Dunure but Kirkcubright is also worth a visit as is Rockcliffe. Or how about heading to Arran for the day and doing a lap around the island?
  7. Dont trust the automatic cut out. Wire it so when the ignition is switched off they are off. I found this out to my cost.
  8. you could try here.. http://www.superfast.com/
  9. Check this one out. Cant speak the lingo but the pics are good. http://cgi.ebay.de/Moto-Guzzi-Harley-David...1QQcmdZViewItem
  10. Went once a long time ago to the Italian Owners Concours with my Mk2 Le Mans. I spent 2 weeks polishing it prior to going. I think mine was the dirtiest there. A 500 mile round trip but was well worth it. By the way Rumbled, I used to live in Hunmanby in my youth and have fond memories of that area. I had a Honda SS50 then and used to travel go to Scarborough Tech from Hunmanby. I dont think there was a corner between the tech and home that I didnt crash at some point.
