  1. more rubber to the ground while breaking makes a huge difference on tracks with hairpins and sharp turns.
  2. Totti was cold as ice and crushed Australias dream. Italy played a extremly tactical game, specially after the send off of Materazzi Lippi just didn't think the Australian was good enough to break through the italian defense. Maybe a gamble, but he was right. Italy had the best chances, even if they let the ozzies roll the ball. Ukrainia or Switzerland in the quaterfinal does not sound too bad for gli Azzurri. the real test will be the semi against Argentina (or Germany).
  3. Consistency makes boring, an "boring" wins no hearts and hurts the sport. Despite being called Steady Eddie he wons 31 races in 500GP He also won 4 titles: 1984 (4 wins) 1986 (7 wins) 1988 (7 wins) 1989 (4 wins) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eddie_Lawson
  4. year 2000 and (from memory) 5 wins Rossi was the runner up and Kenny secured the title in the last race in Valencia. about status: Rossi is already a legend like Doohan, Hailwood and Ago Hayden, if he wins, will be a more forgettable champion like Kenny jr and Criville

  6. What is the rap about van Nistelrooy and van Basten in dutch media?
  7. Randy DePuniet did have great fight with Ant West in the rain soaked 250 race in Donington last year. He was pushed onto the wet grass but managed to stay upright and went on to win the race. Great stuff This year he had crashed a lot and injured himself, but he is adjusting to the bike and I'm sure he will be on the podium some race next year.
  8. I use a Paioli unit taken of a Laverda Zane, its fully adjustable, even a bit in length (seat height). I works very well on the heavier V11 since a was a bit on the stiff side on the Laverda according to reliable sources.
  9. I have a spare Sachs unit laying around somewhere mail me if you want to buy it for a decent price.
  10. this symbol might be more suitable: today was bad sportmanship day in Germany: first England got 2 yellow cards for delaying the game, not what I expect from english footballers then the "fist fight" between NL and Portugal.
  11. Dani Pedrosa, of course he is 2nd in the championship now, and bit more experience with 4-strokes and the new 800cc formula which suits him better than 999cc, he might even give Rossi a real run for the money next year. Valentino shows who is the boss, 8th when he shouldn't be able to ride at all. Ellison and Checa: sorry but Ellison is their because Dorna needs a brit on the grid Checa is there because he is one of the fastest men in the world. He has done a tremendous job this year, helping Dunlop develop a tyre that last more than 5 laps. the 9th place in Assen shows that they on the right track finally.
  12. I had Italy vs Argentina in the final but that's not possible anymore, so that will be one semi Holland vs Brazil will be the other Italy vs Brazil in the final and Italy will be champs just my
  13. Forza Svezia! Apparently the german press and fans are already looking at how to win the final. The swedish side really has nothing to loose, and will be national heros if they win, quiet the opposite for Ballack & co.
  14. or maybe, God forbid, the US side just wasn't good enough. li Azzurri came back and played with great smartness vs Czeck Republic Brazil, at last, starting to show their brilliance,
  15. this is our speciality too, a couple of years ago in the UEFA Women's Cup, Frankfurt refused to play the final again Umeå (from northern Sweden) on artificial grass. It was a tactical move to take away Umeå's home advantage, and it was a BIG mistake. Playing a natural grass in november really meant playing on half-frozen mud. The poor german girls got the arses so kicked!
  16. brilliant game, 2 balls hit Robinson's overlayer within 5 minutes ... England were lucky truth is that these teams plays very similar games and knows each other very well, so a draw is the logical result. England has a few more skillful players, Sweden has a little bit better organisation and discipline. statistics is an important part of football, England hasn't beaten Sweden since 1968 the worst part is that Sweden has not beaten Germany since 1958 Ecuador saved there most valuable players today, so 3-0 against Germany doesnt tell us much about what England will fac on sunday.
  17. .. but Isaksson should have taken that, a moment of lost concentration and he fraction of a second too late. Paraguay vs Trinidad is 1-0 so right now Sweden vs England is just a match too avoid Germany in the next round. Germany beat Ecuador with 3-0 missed that match .. so I can't commented on that
  18. Nicky retook the WC-lead today at Catalonya since both Melandri and Capirossi was out after an awful crash in the first corner, he just needed to stay on the wheels. Only 11 bikes finished the race Kenny jr:s return to the podium was the sensation of the weekend
  19. France played better but without heart, again, instead of killing the match they played to control it and of course Korea got their equalizer. Brazil, again, didn't impress against Oz. Weak performance from most of the big teams so far, only Italy's first half against Ghana, the Czeck against USA and most of all Argentina has impressed me.
  20. that was unaccepable too and ask any italian and he/she would agree completely. I've followed football for 40 years, and played myself for just as long, not so often nowadays though, but what do I know
  21. yeah right. Pirlo was deep into his own part of the field facing the wrong way so the tackle was totally uncalled for. And tackles with full force against the wrist often cause serious injuries. If you see nothing wrong with stunts like that, USA has no business in football whatsoever Just cut the numbers of teams in the world cup to raise the standard
  22. come on, McBride was standing in the line of the ball and almost seemed to lift his foot to let the ball through No, it wasn't forced, it was a clean error by Zaccardo He wasn't under pressure, the ball just rolled over the foot when he hit it. and Yes, Italy did play far below their capacity, I'm not happy with them at all tonight. If I had been Italian I had been really upset
  23. I think li Azzurri underestimated the opponents, in the world cup you can't go 75% and still win games even if you have superior skills. But in fact USA got one goal, but they didn't score, and in the end you have to score goals to win matches.
  24. you must be yoking, he is in he's 4th year in the best founded pit and on the best bike. Il Dottore has taken the 1st pole of the year and in impressive style in Barcelona today.
  25. It was absolutely correct, in civilised sports to willing try seriously injure key players has no place.
