  1. I'm thinking about selling my 1100sport ie and buying a V11 LeMans. One of many questions that comes to mind, do you grease the driveshaft in three awkward places on the V11 too, like the 1100sport?
  2. Thank you for comments. LowRyter, yes I know. There's going to be some hard thinking before I sell it. PDoz,thanks for the link and info.Great! There seems to be some reason to choose the 2001-2002 then.Good to know about the forks on 2003 on. Docc,146000 km !! That's alot.I guess it was just some odd bikes that had bad valves then. I entered location now.Sorry about that. The ultimate bike would probarbly be Rosso/Nero Corsa then,or maybe a 01-02.I'll look at the bikes for sale here in Sweden and see.
  3. I currently have an 1100 sport ie and I'm thinking about selling and buying a V11 LeMans instead.I love the 1100sport but could use just a little bit more modern clutch, gearbox, softer seat and better ECU. So,first what year should I look for? 2003-2005? I've read that it got some upgrades compared to 2002.Better paintwork on frame and better electronics? Are there some technical issues that got better with the 2003? I read somewhere that the valves or something goes bad on just about every V11 after 35000 kilometers. That there are some wear on a component that needs changing. Is that true? Help apreciated.
  4. I would go for the same red paint as the frame.
  5. sp838, It's the 1100 05-08 at Stein Dinse I thought of. Thanks for posting the link. They also have the sparkplug-protectors. Maybe the bolts too.
  6. I bet it looks nice yes. Maybe pitcures in the future then.
  7. What is the fairing on that greenie, it looks good! And look how tight the headers fit! Sweet! The valve covers really fill the space. Excellent! HaydnR,I'ts the fairing from a Daytona RS/ 1100sport. DOCC,I'm not sure what exhaust system is on there. It might be a conical from dynotech germany,or daes. Not sure.
  8. It's a good thing they don't rush the developement and start designs from scrap every other year like the japanese factories. Hope you find the look you want.
  9. http://www.guzziclubforum.nu/Forum/download/file.php?id=1398 Here is a link to the picture i posted on the swedish Mg forum
  10. Many thanks Pete. That's great news. AndyH,i'll have a look around for pictures. The ones i saw was in an ad at a german site www.mobile.de but the ad is gone now.
  11. I've seen à picture of a v11 sport with valvecovers from griso,it looked very nice.As i'm about to change to a new one on My 1100sport i got curious. Is it an East fit?
  12. I would hope for that.I kind of had the same sound from the right hand side, but discovered it was a really small exhaust leak between the joints in the exhaust. Anders
  13. Yes,that thread was the only one i could find too.But i have a vague memory of someone else trying it, but i can't find it. sorry Raceboy.I suppose you could ask Jens Hoffman at Dynotec by email. Anders
  14. Thanks Paul. Someone on this forum or www.guzzitech.com or www.wildguzzi.com did put a fairing from a 1100sport on a v11 and showed pictures as he progressed.I will try to find it. Anders
  15. Here it is. www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?act=Search&CODE=show&searchid=4e386e49bcf7f3687f522a73bdca9233&search_in=posts&result_type=topics&highlite=mike+rich if the link doesn't work do a search "for mike rich" it is the topic "Anyone dualplug a v11" If it is interresting. Anders
  16. Eerh...I'm not sure but isn't there an older topic about High comp. pistons where someone said the Mike Rich Pistons are a better option than FBF ? I could be wrong though. Anders
  17. If you want a sportier look, maybe try something like this.I think someone on this forum has done it to his v11.It is a fairing in the same shape as a 1100sport by Dynotec. But maybe it is possible to put a stock 1100sport fairing on.Anyway, this is what it would look like. Anders
  18. Is that a full system about 44mm OD all the way? Unlike the typical V11 or LeMans the muffler pipes seems to be the same size as the rest of the exhaust and not bigger. In that case that design is very close to a Staintune system except that the Staintune pipes are about 1mm thinner ID than stock. As i've said in another thread ,what i have found is that with a full exhaust alittle bit thinner than stock gives really good midrange from 3000-6000rpm.And if the pipes leading into the mufflers and the mufflers themselves are bigger than the headers you get a little less grunt at around 3500-4500rpm. I think that is the reason why the stock v11 has less torque there compared to the 1100sport inj. Well it looks nice on the bike anyway Anders
  19. I hope someone who has will reply you.I just wanted to mention that i have read somewhere on this forum that the front x over helps a little with the dip at 4000 ish rpm when the bike is very near stock. If you modify with Stucchi/Mistral/FBF xover(under gearbox)or something and also modify the airbox/put pods on,the front xover is not nessesary.Apparently it does the same job as an under the gearbox xover but maybe not as much difference as under gearbox xover. I have a sporti and i also thought about the same thing.I even thought in my desperate chase of midrange torque that as heavily tuned Lemans engines has exhausts like that ,that has very much torque, than it's got to work on the 1100 engine too.But they are different in valve size, stroke, and so on. Anders
  20. Do those pipes come together under the gearbox ,or is it just 2-2 and not 2-1-2? Anders
  21. I have thought about the size difference from the crossover to the silencers too. The headers and crossover are both about 45mm od on v11 and 1100sport aren't they? And then the pipes from xover to silencers are 50mm.From these tests (In the link)there was not so much difference between 45mm all through and" Termignoni"44-47-50mm.There seemed to be a little bit less at 4000rpm with the 44-47-50 so,maybe it feels like it's more torque above that. http://www.moto-one.com.au/performance/sport1100_update.html On the other hand,as i thought i would finish my own 1100sport once and for all and the leave it,i finally bought a Staintune header collector set, which includes every thing exept the silencers. I have tried: BOS 2-1 ,headers 45mm xover about 47mm the silencer pipe 50mm.As it was a 2-1 the preformance was ocourse different to 2-1-2.With that system there was a steeper climb in torque between 4500-6500 rpm partly because there was a dip 3500-4500rpm.Dynoresults 84nm77hp sae. Stock headers 45mm xover Stucchi 45mm silencers mistral 45mm +kn filter in stock airbox. Not the best mapping was made for that and it felt more tamed as the torque climbed more evenly.80nm75hp on the same dyno. Staintune header collector set about 44mm ,(i think it has an ID of 1mm less than stock)and Mistral silencers.I am currently having this system on with the same mapping as the stucchi-setup. The difference in throttlerespons is very big and it pulls like a train ,in comparison ,from 3000-6500. I am very happy with this set up,it fits my riding perfectly. So what i have found is that the size right between mistral 42mm and stucchi45mm all the way through is a really good compromise. You get more torque between 3000-4500rpm than a stucchi xover. Anders
  22. I take it you are talking about an American shop or do you mean this one? www.moto-spezial.de/deutsch/index.moto The cost would be quite big with shipping and customs i suppose. On the other hand ,just a wild guess, is n't Pete Ropers sloppage sheet (or what ever it's called)supposed to help the oilsupply needed during acceleration, and keep the oil where it needs to be. I mean,i know a guy in Sweden with a Daytona RS ,heavily modified with the Dynotec 1200 cc and cam ,supposed to make 130hp.He does n't use the deep sump, but was advised to just put in an additional 0,75 L of oil or something which is supposed to work according to Dynotec. If the extra amount of oil is used with Pet Ropers sheet ,wouldn't that work? I could be way off base here though. Anders
