Huh? If you are attempting to remove the lever only, remove the nut underneath the pivot bolt. Push the pivot bolt up and out of the perch (while you watch for a ball and spring fall to the floor when you do the next step) and remove the lever. Reassemble everything and lightly grease everything you do not want to rust.

Go back to the dealer and have a conversation with him. Let him know you are concerned as a customer and a friend about what you found. Tell him you want him to know that you would not like to turn work out like this and he shouldn't either. Hopefully he will bring this to the mechanic's attention to turn out GREAT work. I treat everything I work on as it were my kid's personal aircraft. There is no room for error here.

I would use UFI filters. I use Mobil 1 synthetic 20/50. Get the Roper plate and oil filters from Greg @ Moto International. Get the brake switch (after pinching the connectors with side cutters) from Greg also. It is not going to hurt to buy OEM parts because that is how dealerships stay in business. I don't know if grand Rapids Guzzi is still open or not.You can call them for parts also. p.s. keep using the worm gear clamp on the oil filter.

A proper way to settle this would be to send a worn cam/lifters to a racing camshaft company for an opinion. Moving the assembly plant out of Mandello would not cure the camshaft problem.
