  2. Glad to be a help! Figuring out these little qwerks is half the fun. "Life is too short to drive boring cars"
  3. Wait . . . a gorgeous, racy Italian lady you're not sure you can trust? haha!! Sounds like your talking about my wife. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  4. Check relays first. Then check barrel connectors under the front of the tank were the side stand switch is connected. If the switch has been removed find the two connectors that have been mated together under the front part of the tank near the steering stem, no tank removal nessesary. Good luck. 5. Covertibars!!!!!!!! I just got back from a 1300 mile round trip to Mid-Ohio for the races and my covertibars saved the day. I had them up high and close to me for most of the trip. At a gas stop while my buddys were cleaning there shields I could change the position of the bar, felt like I was riding a different bike. From the hotel to the track I dropped them low more like a cafe style. From sport tourer to Cafe in less than a minute.. Pricy but well worth it.
  6. Convertibars are great, not cheap but very adjustable even without extending the brake lines. I put them on my 20000 sport and can move them when I stop for gas for a different riding position. Can totally change the feel of the bike in about one minute.. I have learned that bar position effects the overall feel of the bike more than anything else.. Good Luck!!!
  7. I have a 2000 Greenie with the Buell 1 inch drop and I am 6'3" with a size 12 boot. I used a longer bolt and a spacer in the end of the shifter and brake lever to move it out about a half inch. The Buell peg is 1 inch lower but it also causes your foot to sit out further.
  8. There is an after market cf starter cover sometimes found on ebay for about $80 think i need to find one my green cover is missing a big chunk. I think a cf or black starter cover blends better with the motor and looks better anyway..
  9. I agree the factory color parts look the best but, the colored starter cover will break, the carbon fiber will not. I have a 2000 green and have had two starter covers crack and break off. the nuts were not over tightened and they never got hit the vibration and maybe the age caused then to break, stronger carbon fiber starter cover all the way.. Most Guzzi owners even if selling are a different class of people they will most likely be very honest and concerned about the bikes next home. They will probably tear up when you ride off with their ex girl friend.. Not kidding.. Good Luck!!!
  10. Same thing happened to my V11 Sport when I first purchased it, in fact it would not start when I brought it home for the first time. It was the side stand switch connector under the tank. If the switch has been removed like most are then the connector needs a jumper. If this connection gets a bit of moisture in it or comes loose the bike wont start. If the switch is still intact at the side stand follow the wires that go under the left side of the tank. Give them a wiggle while pressing the starter button.. Good Luck

    My new Guzzi

Nice Bike!!! and welcome to the club.. Guzzists are some of the nicest, coolest, and sometimes strangest riders you will ever meet. They understand that motorcycles are not about being the fastest, best handling, most reliable, smoothest or most comfortable. If it was we would all ride a Honda or drive a Toyota Camry. Its about the soul, character and the way it makes you feel. Now for the ergos: Buell foot pegs, gain an inch of leg room $35. Seat reshape your self or by a pro or wear padded undies. Handlebars www.convertibars.com expensive but the best thing I did for my bike hands down, cant believe I waited two years to do it...
  12. Hey RoyB, If your looking for mirrors I just fitted the Harley basic long stem Mirrors in black. They fit in the lever holes no problem, two minute job. They look much better than the original and dont vibrate too bad. Of course I do have the Convertibars that reduces vibration.. HD mirrors highly recommended, did I mention they are only $37 each..
  13. OUCH!!!! Check Ebay for the turn signal lens.. I found two for about 6 bucks after shipping beats $35. Lens is used on Aprilia and some Buell's.. Good Luck
  14. I like the Harbor Freight idea, cheap and local I could have it today. Does it grab the swingarm or the porkchops, is it stable enough to lift the front wheel like the Guzzi stand?
  15. After reading many threads on the best stand for my V11 Sport I have decided to get the MG shop stand or the Abba but, hard to find. Were is the best place to get either one in the US? Help, I need to spend the money before my wife spends it her bike...
  16. I installed convertibars on my V11 Sport last month, I highly recommend them. Great quality and can be adjusted in 30 seconds. Ditto on the Buell foot pegs 20 bucks, 30 minutes and an inch lower. I think the most important mod is the seat, it SUCKS!!!! I did some easy mods to mine and it is 100 times better. The stock seat used to hurt after about 30 mins. You can actually feel the bumps in the seat pan on your ass and it very slopped forward causing you to hold your self in position by the bars. I can now corner faster, better and safer with these mods.. Check out www.diymotorcycleseat.com
  17. Very nice!!!! Did you make the mount? How did you connect the line?
