  4. Good day folks, Good news. I picked up my Ohlins rear shock yesterday (built to MG127). This unit described to me by the local Ohlins Tech and Ohlins U.S.A as identical to the Piagio OEM Ohlins rear shock. I'm not sure if the OEM version came with a Pre - Load Adjuster, I ordered with Pre - Load Adjuster and It will be part of the Package in the group buy....,(makes life much easier). See Pics below................
  5. The latter # will of course depend upon the former. Kind of hard to commit until we know if the price is competitive: there's several suspension options out there these days; Ohlins no longer has a near monopoly on performance suspension supply like they did 15 years ago. Yes indeed Skeeve. I am trying to gauge the general interest from the membership on this opportunity. I have already committed to my shock, paid deposit and will pick up my shock once John (Ohlins tech) returns from his travels.in about a week or so. As mentioned in previous post(s) I will post all the info I can (price, specs, options, and pics). Cheers,
  6. ************** FULL UPDATE with PRICING ************** See Posts & Pics below (Nov 11) Hi all, The Ohlins tech is currently traveling for a few different events (testing and out of country races). He is expected to return the first week of November. As mentioned above the exact details will be presented here once everything is ironed out. The Shock I ordered from him is in his shop ready for me, so I'm also very anxious for his return and get my hands on my NEW Ohlins shock. I will post detailed info and pics. Of course I can't expect people to commit blindly, I just wanted an idea of how people would be interested if price and details are in order. Cheers, Raceboy
  7. **** FULL UPDATE ****** See Below & Pics Post below (Nov 11) ******* PRICING INFORMATION - SEE POST FURTHER DOWN ************ (NOV 12) Good day folks, Welcome to all who followed over from the other thread, or anyone who stumbled here in need of suspension help. Ok so, a short recap; I've asked a local Ohlins race suspension tech who has built a shock for my V11, if he would consider building a bunch of Ohlins shocks for the V11 and sell as a group buy on here (V11LeMans fourm). The details of what (specs) and how much ($$$) will be worked on and discussed in due course. Basically for right now I need a head count of who is serious and willing to commit to buy a custom built Ohlins rear shock. 8. Good day everyone in GuzziLand and on V11LeMans forum. I've posted on this thread and elsewhere on the forum that I've been looking to replace the leaking and beat up Sachs rear Shock with an Ohlins unit. After numerous attempts with local MG dealer to confirm for certain if an O.E.M. part is still available from Piaggio US or Italy. It has been confirmed that they no longer have stock and will not replenish stock. So on that note I've tried another route. I have found a certified Ohlins suspension technician who has assembled / built an Ohlins rear shock for me and is now also rebuilding the front forks (Ohlins). I'll get my hands on everything once he gets back from Daytona and elsewhere in November. I've asked if he would be interested in assisting the V11 membership by building a number of Ohlins shocks and selling to the group; he said he would consider it, so him and I will talk about details when he gets back in early November. I'll start this thread here: http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=18772 Cheers,
  9. Hey Jim, Yeah yeah back in the day. WOW!! I remember hearing Tims name regularly...was Pat announcing back then or did he come in later. I think that was when the Neilson Family still owned Shannonville. I never raced Loudon, but many racer friends went there regularly. I did race the 24hr at Ledges a few times and always torrential storm at some point during the race. St. Jovite, that was part of the Brimaco series wasn't it?? Cheers Jim, cool to cross paths and bench race a little..... John
  10. Good day folks, I'm in desperate need of a (new) shock, as i'm sure many you V11 owners are. The OEM Sachs has be pulled and i'm all the oil and gas i'm sure has leaked out. And now since I have Ohlins front forks I want an equally capable new rear shock...so on that note.... I've contacted Elka suspension in Quebec Canada in the past (2 or 3 yrs ago) and said they will do a group by for 10 shocks but need a donor bike for a few weeks, I'm about 6 hours away...and they can be difficult at times. Next I've also contacted a local Ohlins tech although not holding my breath on that one... Third possibility is a Penske fully adjustable unit, probably much easier to execute since they've previously built shocks for the V11 in the past. Has anyone though about a group buy from Penske??? Maybe a bit of deal to be had. Any thoughts, ideas, suggestions, etc.... Anyone in the U.S. want to take the lead on this and run the Group Buy??? Count me in!!!!!! Cheers, RB
  11. Good day all, So?!! What are the chances of getting my hands on an OEM Ohlins Shock???? ...new, used, beat up and leaking...I don't care. Well if by some miracle the Guzzi Gods smile upon me, if someone is parting out a V11 or similar with an Ohlins...please please contact me!! Thanks in advance, raceboy (John)
