  1. I'm repeating my self here. Rally has been cancelled - you know the rest by now
  2. I had Racetech springs & valves fitted to my 01 RM 10 years ago. Will try and find out what was done
  3. MM I understood that the RM had original RAM parts where as others had cheap copies that were liable to explode (Says owner of an RM with 75k on clock with original flywheel & clutch)
  4. Success. Got drive shaft greased at the weekend. Feels smoother or is that just my imagination
  5. Interesting to read every bodies tyre pressures. I've always run what maker recommends being about 36 F 42 R Over 40 years of riding I've always run the front tyres to a V shape and rear flat (we have a few straight roads here) Might try lower pressures I'm 190cm 105kg FWIW Oh and I've got 3 positions from front to rear that I can position my bars. p6x you might want to try changing yours for a better riding position
  6. That's a pity. Would have been great to have a photo to show how you had solved the problem that's vexed many owners of short frame V11's
  7. Could you upload a photo of how the 180 swivel fits onto the front nipple?
  8. I thought as much Mines way overdue for getting some grease in the front nipple If anyone in New Zealand with a long frame V11 wants a right angle coupler you can get them from Macnaught KDR Right Angle Coupler - NZ Safety Blackwoods
  9. Will the thru the swingarm method work for an 01 Rosso Mandello?
  10. Yup got same issues with after market centre stand as well
  11. New Zealand Moto Guzzi Rally is on this year in October (Fingers crossed) Details on website Motor Bike | Tattley Rappet Moto Guzzi Rally New Zealand | New Zealand (wixsite.com)
  12. I've got 75k service to do so ... Accidently picked up Penrite Synthetic 20w-50 instead on mineral at Supercheap. Seems Synthetic has the thumbs up here. Do I need to use something like engine flush between draining oil & refilling? (I'm changing oil filter)
  13. I've had a Sparkbright on my V11 for about 5 years. Thing to watch out is if you are colour blind it makes it a bit differcult to make out the different colours. Me I have trouble between yellows & green
  14. How about Metzler Roadtec 01s? I've run 3 sets on my 01 RM. Can not fault wet or dry. Have tried other Pirellis & Metzler Sport Touring tyres. Would like to try Michlen Road Sports but can't get 170's here in NZ
  15. Good ah. Think I will frame it. Its an extinct volcano. Now main shipping port for South Island
  16. Photo looking over Lyttelton Harbour in South Island New Zealand
  17. Raffa had habit as a pup to chew seat belts & swallow socks. 6 lots of X-rays,2 operations & 3 sets of rear belts $$
  18. Speedo behaved same way with both old & new speedo cable. So not so easy solution
  19. Fitted new Speedo cable the correct way around without the angle drive a few weeks ago Speedo back going again sort off Its back to its old habit of wildly swinging then settling down I think its only a matter of time before it dies completely I did find a repair kit on Ebay but clicking on sellers link caused computer to do the 'blue screen of death' Not good So be careful out there
  20. Any thoughts on how I'm going to repair the paint finish on my RM tank. Its bubbled next to the fuel tap. Only about 3-4 mm is visible when the tank if fitted I had a fuel leak from where the fuel tap connects to the tank. I've fixed that by replacing the o-ring (they are actually oval-rings) from local supplier as Guzzi agents in New Zealand had none. Make sure you get Viton ones which are impervious to petrol
  21. Great looking Rosso Mandello
  22. Done that. Its the Angle Drive that's broken. It didn't appear to be a month ago when I fitted new speedo cable. Must have been in process of failing Many thanks Doc for pointing me in right direction. Also found out I was fitting speedo cable the wrong way around Stumbled across fitting instructions when looking for new angle drive Moto Guzzi Angle Drive Replacement v11 SP 04768300-tlm gu04768300 gu047683 04 | eBay Yet to refit cable so fingers crossed it will solve speedo - tomorrow nights job
  23. I've just replaced speedo cable & run with & without angle drives & speedo still misbehaving (Posted a couple of weeks ago) But to eliminate possibility will disconnect speedo from speedo cable and run bike. If cable still turns its the speedo?
