  1. During a recent tune up I removed the tank. When fitting it back I noticed there was a hose on the bottom fitting of the Pressure Adjuster. Does it go anywhere or did someone just put it there to keep the end open and clean by routing the hose out of the way? Did not remember removing thehose from any point on the system. Can't see any hoses on the valve in the repair manual, but mine is a reprint and kind of fuzzy. Thanks Bob
  2. Noticed a couple of things recently with my Lemans that had not been happening. First, it is harder to crank. Have to grind on it for a while when it is cold, been sitting for several hours or over nite. Tried turning the key on, waiting for the pump to stop buzzing, cutting off the key then turn the key on again and waiting for the buzz to stop on the fuel pump and then crank. Seems to do better that way. Have to crack the throttle some to get it to fire up ( has always helped to crack the throttle some when starting cold). Secondly i have gotten a loud back fire when restarting when the engine is hot on a couple of occasions, not everytime. Not sure if it is back firing thru the intake or exhaust but it is loud and sounds like a gun. Could an injector be leaking? Causing the fuel pressure to fall over night or give a very rich mix when restarting hot? Does the fuel pump have a one way valve to keep the pressure up on the system? Have not checked the fuel pressure yet. Still runs good, just don't like having to grind on the engine to get it started. BTW, these issues did not seem to start until after changing the fuel filter and replacing fuel lines. Thanks for any feedback. Bob
  3. My V11, when first started up, has a clutch rattle sort of like a Ducati . Is this normal or is something going wrong. Got about 12k miles on it. Rattles only when clutch is engaged. Thanks Bob
  4. I have a like new set of Tekno bags and racks that fit my 2002 LeMans, and other years just not sure which ones but probably all of the V11 series. I have seen a wide range in prices so I'll ask $350. If you would like pix email me and I will send some. Thanks Bob Lexington, NC
  5. Looking for seat to fit my 2002 LeMans. Pan must be in VGC condition, cover does not matter, want to get one modified.
  6. Got worried that the spring might fail on my 02 LeMans so I purchased a new one from MG Parts and opened up the side cover. Once apart I noticed that the original spring was free and loose on the boss, great news. I measured the boss and it is 16mm in diameter. I measured the new spring and it has an ID of approximately 17mm, just like the original one. Lots of info on filing down the old boss or ordering a new one with the 15mm boss. Looks like Moto Guzzi or MG Parts has made sure the new spring fits a 15mm or a 16mm boss. Anyway thought I would toss this info out there. I believe in all the threads there may have been some mention of the larger ID spring, not sure. This is just what I found yesterday. Now I feel comfortable riding the bike on long trips, at least the spring won't be a mental issue. BobC
  7. I have the '02 LeMans and have read the FAQ about this topic. I'm going to order a spring as a spare, but have a question about pulling off the plate to replace the spring and check the boss diameter. When you unbolt the plate/cover, according to the diagram in the parts book, it looks like the whole assembly in question is attached/mounted to the plate. Looks like you just pop off the c-clip, pull back the boss and put the new spring on. When you reinstall the plate, what has to be aligned? Do things fall back in place without any fuss or do certain parts have to be aligned carefully, etc? Should the transmission be in a specific gear or neutral prior to removing the plate? I hate to pull off covers and things fall off or get out of time, etc. Any step by step hints will be greatly appreciated. In the FAQ there was a note about frame numbers that had the problem. Is this acurate, if mine is a higher number I would not need to be concerned? Thanks Bob Collett Lexington, NC
  8. Hello to all. Just picked up my '02 V11 LeMans with 7k miles, Stucci exhaust and PCII. Great bike, really enjoying getting aquainted with it. This is my forth Guzzi, I've got a'73 Eldo and a '80 CX100 at this time. First question, what is/are the differences between the Sport and LeMans seats? I've looked at the Corbin site and it says their seat won't fit the LeMans? Is it the overal shape or just the way it hooks into the frame. Can the Corbin be modified to fit on the LeMans? Thanks Bob
