  2. By the time its hot, the midget is too worn out to pick up the hammer. So drown the wee fella in Redline.
  3. After six years of the standard bars, I guess I`ve got used to them, despite having arms that are shorter than a very short short thing. As for the steering bearings, they`re next, just as soon as my supplier delivers my swing arm brgs so I can build the back end up and remove the front. The drive side brg was totally shagged after 22,000 miles. Lack of grease! I think they packed them with olive oil and pesto at the factory. I`m not expecting much from the front. Twats!
  4. That is a very very nice bike. Takes a lot for me to comment on a reworked Griso, but this has it.
  5. This is my Ride. Griso 1100. Likes petrol and dunlop roadsmarts. Me? I like food and beer.(and single malt)
  6. Is the only way to setup the tps on a g1100 with an axone or vdsts software? or can it be done with a fine voltmeter, ie, is it read in mvolts or degrees?
  7. Hi Jaap. If you could get yourself over for sunday morning 17 may, you could visit duxford air show- http://duxford.iwm.org.uk/server/show/nav.178. Even so, you could still visit the air museum any day. Not too far from Thetford, just off junction 10 of the M11 motorway. And as for roads, it`s a great pity you`re not going to Wales.
  8. Had to send my tri-oval titanium end can back to Quill ehausts recently as a small crack appeared in a weld on the inlet to the can. Got the can back last week and stuck it on today. Fantastic service, lifetime warranty. They didn`t just weld up the crack, they replaced the whole end of the can, even repacked it with new packing. And the sound? ooooooooooh aaaaaaaaaaaaaah dribble dribble.
  9. Well done, Excellent finishing result and an equally excellent report.
  10. Awesome. I tried some of those tricks on my Montesa 349 many years ago.................... Nearly f*&%ing killed myself! Respect to that lad.
  11. I suppose I need to ride an 8v before I can make a comment on it really, but at the moment I`m not ready. "Showroom fever" the wife calls it when I walk into a dealer and see the right bike. I just gotta have it. Been fancying the Griso 1100 since they unveiled the concept bike a few years ago, then I walked into a guzzi dealer to buy a new crash helmet and came out with a griso. I just hope to god that they don`t have a nero in there when I go for some filters.
  12. After just servicing the 1100 griso, I was giving the fresh oil a good workout, and I was pissing myself laughing `cos I was having so much fun. Then my thoughts turned to the 8v. Bit of a bummer to start with but at least guzzi has got on to it, but why would I need anything other than a griso 1100. A barrell of laughs in the real world where horse power means f**k all but the right attitude means everything when you`re giving it a handfull. Maybe one day, someone on an 8v will be having the same fun as me now that guzzi has got onto the cam issue. Weather is looking good for tommorow too, so bollux to cutting the grass and weeding the garden, I`m off to clip a few hedges with the griso
  13. redline shockproof in g/box and carc if you can get it. But even silkolene will do. And yes, I do have a `73 commando 850 interstate.
  14. I`ve put a quality synthetic in both the carc and box, same oil in both. It doesn`t break down as quick as mineral stuff, and 1 litre is sufficient for both, so change it often.
  15. Hi Andy, and welcome. we`re both new here. Can`t make it that weekend I`m sorry, but I`m off to the Coupes-Moto-Legende in Dijon on the 28may-01june For great roads, great classic bike festival and lots to drink. If anyone wants to come along with us, you`re more than welcome.
