    Charge Light

I just had exactly the same thing happen to my '02 Lemans - replaced the charging light bulb, but it only comes on after a ride when I shut the engine down and then turn the key back on to restart, then it goes out (as it should after the engine is running... It never comes on when the engine is cold before starting. I am getting a 14.2 volt charge, so all is well with the system. I guess we can chalk it up to the ghosts... (or a loose connection somewhere)
  3. So my switch just gave up the farm - but strange, it shows conductivity with the multimeter, but does not turn the light on or off, if I jump the contacts on the switch, the brake light goes on... Must be low/bad conductivity? Any guess's? Jamie
  4. Yes, if you do not have any luck here, Ebay has worked very well for me over the years, you just need to be concise and clear on the description and do not allow folks to bid with no or low feedback - this routes out the scammers. Good luck!
  5. I guess I'll chime in one more time and say that sometimes an idea for a tattoo is better suited for a t-shirt, at least you can take it off easier!
  6. After much indecision and reflection, I just finished stitching a Moto Guzzi 'wing logo' patch on the back of my leather jacket, so I understand your situation, but even more so!
  7. Yes, it is pumping out 14 +/- volts @ 2000 rpm - seems correct...?
  8. I found that the charging light comes on after I turn the ignition switch on/off/on quickly... it happens every time - but it does not come on with switching it to ON... it also works correctly after a ride... (and goes off after the engine is running) I wiggled and fiddled with the wiring and the light will not go on unless the above conditions are met...? At least I know it's not the bulb!?
  9. Hilarious! Seriously though, there is a slim line between customization and bastardization!
  10. If you don't know where you're going, you'll probably end up somewhere else.

  11. Sick. It is freaking beautiful... congratulations.
  12. Yes, I was certainly very happy until I got the panel back together and the dang light was not working again! Must be something loose or not making a good connection?
  13. Ok, so I found that the connections inside the bulb housing were not making contact with the bulb contacts, straightened the prongs out - bulb works! (happy) Jamie
  14. Yes, I have been thinking about this oil filter loosening problem that seems so pervasive with the V11's - only to conclude that the problem may rest within the accessibility of the filter through the hole. Many of us have always been under the assumption to always hand tighten 'spin-on' filters and never use a wrench, so perhaps too many owners tried to tighten this filter through the hole by just using hand pressure, which, it damn near impossible to do!

Let 'em play with loaded firearms in their living rooms while drunk! Abolish helmet laws! Seat belt laws! And encourage all severe risk-taking activities like ropeless bungy-jumping and skydiving without a parachute and crocodile wrestling. That would soon thin the herd!!!"
