  1. Worked fine taking the blade off.
  2. Thanks Chuck, I will let you know if it does work. You gave me a little bit of hope.
  3. I saw the tool Chuck made to pull in the blade on the tensioner, is it possible to remove the blade install the gears and chain then install the blade on the post having already installed the base?
  4. just found it .7-.9mm from a post thanks Kiwi Roy!
  5. I thought I saw the gap to be set at .6-.7 mm is that correct? If not what is the #, changing the cam chain tensioner and the gap on my pickup is at least twice that. Thanks, chasing down the cough.
  6. STP in the blue bottle 1/2 pint at each oil change very good zddp. Just me its what I do and sleep well at night. Used to split the bottle between the Ducati 996 and the V11. Sold the duck. Never sell a bike you REALLY like to a next door neighbor!! Glad he moved and took the bike with him.
  7. Ducati had this problem, look up Ducati 996 flaking rockers. A lot of information. I sent mine to some where in Canada and they rechromed and hardened them, I think at the time it was 45$ each
  8. This I know, I use a high dose of sea foam once a year 1/2 bottle to 2 1/2 gal gas. First time I did it took the bike out for a ride, started running really bad after about 10 miles. Back fire, sluggish, not responsive. Got home pulled the plugs and they were carbon caked, like a stroke. Long story short, took a few cleanings of the plugs, and the bike after new plugs did run better. My thought is as the carbon is being released it is catching on a hot point, the plugs. And a plus is the smell is slightly similar to race fuel, and who doesn't like that smell in the morning!!!
  9. When the engine was out was the transmission separated from the engine? How was the hub, may be sticking. If the clutch was out was it correctly installed? When giving it gas and it is hung up does it slam in gear?
  10. Hold off, the problem may be in the master cylinder, did someone mess with the screw that allows the hot (expanding) brake fluid back to the reservoir. Don't ask me how I know but if its been fiddled with it will lock up the calipers and when it cools it will be fine until it heats up again.
  11. Must be 50 different programs on that page. This is not like power commander where driver is loaded by cd? Also is winzip required?
  12. I have ordered my cables chip ftdi fi232rl Just cant figure what driver I need. windows 10 is on my computer. Thanks
  13. No oil out of the sender hole = no oil pressure, or a passage way is blocked and the block was not correctly cleaned out.
  14. Years ago I changed the pawl spring, and a small leak developed coming from the through stud on the plate. On the advice of others here I took a dime and used case sealer to bond it in the hole. After cleaning the area well. That was 6 years ago all is good. Look and see where the leak is coming from.
  15. Yes it was the oem clutch. Curtis at Harpers got all the parts together, great guy!! The oem was only bonded not riveted and the bonding failed. Learned a lot about a moto guzzi on the clutch replace, we are now one.
  16. Put in new plugs, they may be fouled, same thing just happened to me.
  17. At about the same miles my clutch friction plates came unglued, bonded. Sounded louder and the clutch did not act the same. Some times it would not fully disengage and acted odd when engaging. If this is what you got, new clutch time.
  18. Have you put it in gear and let out the clutch? Does it engage and go through the gears? It don't sound good that's for sure. How long ago was the clutch done?
  19. I would adjust the linkage, moving on the spline may cause it to hit some where on the case.
  20. Must be winter time, oil thread. I just don't think the V11 engine requires this much thought. Don't get me wrong I LOVE THIS BIKE I have owned it for 14 years. Keep the oil on the full mark, put in a good oil change it when required, I go 1 year or 3000 miles. Not sure what the PPM of ZDDP in the crank case is. Mobil 1 V twin with a 1/2 bottle STP makes me happy. Hell I run pods on the bike cause It looks good and sounds great, so do the d&d cans. Keeping the oil clean and topped off in my view is the best thing you can do for this bike. This is the best motorcycle forum on the net so much information and so many people willing to help!
  21. I always use 1/2 bottle blue STP due to the old time design of the V11 engine. Push rods and lifters. A few years back their was a rash of problems with cams and lifters. Don't know for sure if the STP helps, but have you ever tried to wash it off of your hands?
  22. May just be low RPM'S. The tune us a very good idea.
  23. I am in Virginia and we have had a lot of rain. Hoping to take it out Saturday. Going to Summit point Monday for a track day . It would be nice to run the V11 around the track for a few sessions.
