  1. Both are 19mm, went with 50fp on each, blue lock tite. Must not be that important, just good and tight for the size of the bolt.
  2. Hi all, Re sprung my rear shock and does anyone know the torque setting for the top and bottom shock mount bolts? Thanks in advance,2000 v11 sport
  3. Sounds like wheel bearings. Grab the wheels one at a time and try to wiggle them, any movement may be the bearings.
  4. It is about three times the cost. I use it in my track bike, because of the high boiling point works well. Still must flush frequently. If the rear brakes are fading something is causing it, dragging caliper, resting foot on brake lever, not flushing often enough. I think it is more important to find the problem, a higher boiling point fluid may just mask the problem and cause issues with the rear brake system. 5.1 Motul is good stuff and does work well.
  5. The harbor freight electric impact gun works great, 250 foot lb torque no compressor needed. I have used it to remove clutch baskets, and all kind of parts. Use a torque wrench to reinstall parts! I think its 40$.
  6. 4000 rpm 40psi if you are happy with it have fun and go. Still seems a bit low and if oil pressure is marginal it will never get better or correct itself. It's bleeding somewhere.
  7. Pull the sump and please check your oil filter. Check the gasket, look for particles in the sump. Something is wrong, check the big easy things first. May be just that simple, oil filter loose, cross threaded two or no gasket. I do hose clamp my filter, found it loose once.
  8. Those numbers look quite low to me, 4000 rpm 16psi hot is not good. Others may chime in but what you got would have me take a closer look.
  9. Not wanting this thread to turn into a OIL THREAD I had the same problem years ago. Here is what I did. Took the gear shift lever apart cleaned and lubed. Replaced the selector spring (the selector has to come off). Replaced the transmission oil. I used mobil 1 75-140 Not sure of the first # but the 140 is what I use. Still a little notch going into 3rd, but no false neutrals.
  10. The cup is what I called a button so you got that part in. I did my clutch a few years back, took a good bit of bleeding to get all the air out of the line.
  11. If you forgot to put the little button on the end of the rod it will be to short.
  12. One overlooked part of the formula for a quicker turn in rider. Do a few track days on the bike before spending a lot of money chasing things that may be OK. It is amazing how competent a bike can be as our skill levels increase. I know it helped me.
  13. If this was mine, I would take the harness off of the bike either find a new one, or unwrap the harness check and repair each wire then rewrap. It does not look good at all.
  14. Sounds more like a cross threaded oil filter, missing or skewed oil filter gasket, or filter not flush to the engine. I would not start the bike until all work was checked over. All was good before, so you are loosing pressure somewhere.
  15. And do not forget to remove any paper on the filter, also in a oil bath on a cheep filter will the paint stay on? You will know when the oil light flickers, and the sump screen is choking oil flow that it didn't. Your bike, you decide.
  16. I don't know. How much filtration is required? Must be a industry standard that must be met. Would it be necessary to exceed that? O NOOOOOOOOO this is turning into a oil thread. I use a PS filter because it makes me feel good, and I hose clamp it.
  17. A lot of debate on this I would not use a auto filter on a bike. NAPA sells PS (power sport) filters an do have one for our guzzies. The PS is supposed to allow more oil flow, and with all the discussion on low oil flow, how to check the oil and windage plates, I just would not chance it.
  18. And after all that you still will not have the horse power of a modern sport bike.
  19. I had my clutch plates separate at 16,000 mi. I put new ones in and I think at first they were a bit louder. Not as loud as a ducati, but after time either they quieted down or I got used to it. If the clutch is nice and smooth and is operating correctly why worry? What clutch did you have installed?
  20. I Think it would be best to have it tuned as the intake and exhaust flow will change. You don't have to get it mapped it may be just fine. What are you looking for with the crossover? These are old, heavy, slow bikes that you can only get so much from by todays sport bike standards. They are a blast to run and a lot of fun, don't want to bash the goose they are what they are.
  21. So no one does this as any part of their maintenance? Or am I treading on a oil thread that will include the much loved Olive Oil as a response?
  22. Just put some new tires on my V11 Pirelli diablo rosso II Tires feel great on this bike, new tires always do! My question is what do you use for spline grease? Last bunch of times I used mobil 1 synthetic grease and it has done well. This time I used Honda molly paste as a spline grease any reason this is not good in this application? Thanks.
  23. Check your fuel line pressure, maybe a cracked line in the tank. I think that model has the fuel pump in the tank.
  24. May be the voltage regulator, a lot on testing and replacing it on this site. I had to replace mine.
  25. Did you check to see the bulb is good and the bulb holder? Check the easy stuff first.
