  1. I've used them for *years* on Guzzis, but have made my own mounts and used sticky back foam to mount the clock to the mount.
  2. You haven't seen a busy rear axle until you pull the wheel off an early carb Sport..
  3. Dan Brown (or Damn Big) bags. They hold a ton of stuff and look good on a loop. I love the old loops.. that's a beauty, Brad.
  4. This is FWIW, of course. I was fortunate enough to have a playground in SoCal, so after the Mighty Scura taught me to properly ride (I was a clueless midwesterner) I spent many happy hours playing with suspension settings in the canyons. After setting sag for my weight, here is what I came up with. From Scura records: Suspension settings: set front shock compression +3 from full soft, rebound+6 from full soft. Rear suspension Rebound 24 clicks from full soft, compression 12 clicks from full soft. Fork spring: 04745-95/L357

    TRIBOLOGY!! WTF?

FWIW, the service schedule on our Prius was oil and filter every 10K miles. It was at 140K when we gave it to our granddaughter, and the oil was still clean between changes and it wasn't burning any.
  6. The DeOxit gold was invented for audiophiles..
  7. I've used those things for years. Good stuff.
  8. I'm being pretty careful about dropping it in like you have to do for a very short landing. People bending landing gear is pretty common with these birds. The gear is really delicate, not to mention the BMX bicycle wheels I'm using.
  9. A picture? Why.. yes, yes I do. Back in the day, I used to rent a Cub for $5 an hour wet. I've been flying less and less over the years..just the operating expense is staggering to this cheap Guzzi Guy, even considering I build/maintain my own airplanes and don't have to pay hanger rent. Most of my flying has been from point A to point A anyway, so needing *something to do* during Covid, I built Bullet. As in slower than a speeding.. Two gallons per hour of auto fuel. Here, we had just returned from a Dawn Patrol.. no enemy ships or balloons encountered, all quiet on the Western front.
  10. Oh, no. Visibility out of this bad boy is hard to beat.
  11. The world is a much nicer place when you are 500 feet above it.
  12. Believe me, I looked at doing a Guzzi powerplant. Inverted V with a dry sump to put the thrust line where it needs to be. But. It's too heavy, and makes best power at 5500 rpm. That means a reduction drive..which I have off the Aero engine.. efficient prop rpm needs to be around 2500 or less. That additional weight makes it a no go. This 3 cylinder weighs 80 lbs.
  13. No blue hair in a Buick or brain dead texter trying to run over me..
  14. Conti Trail Attacks. It was my first "Attack" tire, and I liked them so much I put road attacks on everything.
  15. You can get a cheap (Guzzi content) carbon pile load tester from places like Harbor Freight. It will tell you instantly whether the the battery can take a load or not. No guesswork, no unnecessary new battery being bought..
  16. well, there is nothing quite like em, John..
  17. ^^^ This. You aren't going to find it via internet, ya know.. Since you were riding it when it happened, it may not be obvious where it is coming from. Aerodynamics can do funny stuff with spreading oil around. If necessary, you *may* have to clean every thing up and apply baby powder to suspected areas, then run it. That will make a fine mess to clean up..
  18. It doesn't hurt anything. I've never used the "A" plug. It's easy enough to booger the threads up, so I just drain and measure.
  19. That's a fact, Art. There is no better resource in the world.
  20. What Paul says.. BTDT, wrote a song about it.. ^^^^ I don't remember anything about the clutch, so it must not have been very stiff.. but then I don't remember yesterday very well. Edit: Oops, missed Dinosaur monument.. maybe I need another trip west.
  21. I've done a 1300 mile trip on a Quota, and my statement of "one of the best touring bikes Guzzi ever made" stands..
