  2. Call guzzijon from classifieds on this site and see if he'e sold his 10K mi $500.00 engine. Then go from there. If it works out that he does and you put it in you will still own the one in there now and if it isn't completely muffed up you can repair and sell to recoup some $$$.Will expedite your getting back on the road.Or not your call..
  3. Sorry to hear about your troubles with your bike.Would be interesting to find what caused it but ultimately expensive to have the shop fishing around for the cause.I would suggest finding another engine from a donor bike.then doing the valve adjustment etc.on it.Micha at moto international had one for sale a few months ago and another guy was selling off parts from a v11 in L.A. a month or so back in the classifieds of this site.I know because i bought a bike with the loose oil filter nightmare and finally found a guy on the east coast with an engine that I didn't have to pay so much shipping on.you will be waiting awhile on parts and paying a premium for labor to break it down and button it back up. You do have some very steep riding surface in the san fran area and your bike may have lost oil pressure gassing it up some of those hills around town. There are some good guzzi guys in your area.look up guzzitech and talk to the fellow over there.I've bought parts from him for my guzzis and airhead.Don't get in a panic and pay more than you have to.

    Saying Hi

Welcome!Pete, You made a good decision and you have an almost new bike. Not even broken in yet. I was also surprised how nimble these bikes seem compared to their weight and size. Hope you enjoy riding yours and getting acclimated.Nice looking bike!
  5. Every week. I'm on the Red S4RS Monster until I get the old Scura repaired. Wait a minute. Did you scoop this thing off of craigslist a couple of months ago for dirt cheap? I was losing sleep on whether or not I should go pick that one up. I was honestly glad it wasn't available anymore. Even though I would've probably had everything to repair mine with by now. I'm sure everyone here can sell me what little bits I need when I have the money. I did get a good buy on craigslist.Didn't know you had crashed your scura.have you tried Reboot site for parts.I usually ride a red sport classic to Twain's similar to Mario's old ride. When I go... Turns out that the problem was tpc control.setting recommended by "the book"didn't work for the right side.I've put couple of hundred miles on her and she runs great.Bought some black side covers on ebay to make up for grey engine since it came from early red frame model. This bike is the grey and red model with black spackle for engine.haha!!Now engine is grey and oilpan and trans are black.Looks okay actually.Very happy with her so far.Anyway just thought I'd report what problem ended up being for anyone interested.
  6. Looks like the love child from a ducati monster and a guzzi centauro.
  7. There is a C/F mudguard on ebay, from a manufacturer in san diego. It looks good and who would know it isnt original!!!. But i have seen originals on ebay quite regularly,Or have you tried reboot guzzi spares they are/werebreaking a cafe sport so they may still have the mudguard. Gary I bought one of those fenders from that guy in San Diego .He lost my order or some excuse and kept my payment for weeks. When I emailed him he was apologetic made excuses and after another couple of weeks sent something that looked like crap from a bent mold or something.I wouldn't put on my bike and gave it to a friend to give someone for a track bike.Very disappointed!!check his feedback.Maybe he should stick to car parts.
  8. I started riding Moto guzzi's in 1983 with a red 850 lemans.Currenting riding a 2000 greenV11 and restoring a '02 lemans and a white '83 lemans.I am attempting some wrenching with mixed results.Ride almost daily and read this blog daily.LOVE my Guzzi's!!

  10. Thanks will do that as well.I've been working on carbs on another bike for the last couple of weeks.my riding buddy has been itching to get his mercury tubes on it for awhile.just starting to get the hang of carbs. no experience with injected engines. Thanks for your input!Do you ever go to Bike night at Twains in Decatur? I see you're from Atlanta.
  11. Thanks for your advice.I'll suggest that Mon.and if it does change the condition from side to side I'll give "Bubba" a call.
  12. Hello Everyone! I am having a problem with a project bike that I bought last year.PO had installed oil filter incorrectly and taken a trip to races in Daytona ignoring oil light on the way.He and his friend were unsuccessful with repairs and the bike sat for a couple of years before I bought it last year.I spoke with my mechanic buddy and decided that a used motor would be to my liking for $$$$ reasons. It took months to find another V11 motor that came from a lower mileage 2000 V11 bike .the bike that I bought is 2002 Lemans with the crusty black paint that I've read ab here in different threads.Anyway my buddy has swapped the engines for me but is having problems with the engine running rich on one cylinder and lean on the other.I told him I would see if anyone knew if the trigger points for the two engines ignitions were different between the two model years. He used the electronics and fuel systems off the '02 bike but has left everything in place from 2000 behind the alternator cover on my new/used motor.Rod is a great mechanic and has had my bike parked in his shop since last fall working on it as parts needed and time between running his business permitted. It is almost complete but he is a stumped at the moment with the rich/lean cylinder issue.I have read the threads here for awhile and have enjoyed seeing the help offered from the more experienced to the rookies.I loved my green 2000 V11 so much that I bought this 2002 with the hope that my adult son could ride with me as well as my younger brother that used to ride trails with me back in the 70's.Please give us a hand if you can guys.
  13. I've read about some guys using gsxr forks.try a search for old posts.Theres a guy on ebay guzzitech that might be a good source for info.search ebay for the i believe they were gsxr750 forks.do a google search you should be able to find some images on cafe bikes posted to get an idea of what others have done.
