Hmmmmm . What a coincidence ! I was cleaning out e-mails from my hotmail account and wondered how you were doing , You had not posted in a while ! Good to hear from you !

I enjoyed EVERY second of this and wondered what you are up to.

G'day. Riding a V7lll Rough and 1200 Sport. V11 still broken, hence no activity here, sadly. I'll retire one of these years and perhaps then get to the V.11 and other broken things.

It appears you subscribe to the "this one broke, I'll fix it one day when I have a bit more time, meanwhile I better get a working one to keep me on the road" school of motorcycle ownership - a man after my own heart.

A practical philosophy FORCED ON ME  by the hard school of Piaggio Guzzi.
Besides, there are only 24 hours in a day and 365 days in any year (more often than not): how is a fellow supposed to cope with such intolerable constraints? On that matter, I think we should consult The French.

    As in, five more?

Just what are these five Guzzi "sitting about the place", @belfastguzzi?

You don't know how this site works yet, Docc?  Look left, that's <– that direction. Under belfastguzzi there's a little picture avatar thingy, under that there's a list of my bike(s) – and ! I specially updated it it when I called in yesterday ! :mg:
Sadly only two of five are running on the road:

    1. LeMans Mklll - classic of course; wrist breaker
    2. V11 Scura - sort of parts-bin and sorta classy and in ways better than the Griso, which is next >
    3. Griso 8V (first of 8 valves - grrrr I hate Piaggio Guzzi)
    4. 1200 Sport - last of 2-valves, by no means perfect but one of the best modern (suppose I now need to add 'air-cooled') Guzzis? I wanted the last iteration of venerable (& trustworthy) 2V big block motor. I wish Guzzi had called it a GT rather than a Sport.
    5. V7lll 750 Rough - absolutely no comparison to Aprilia 750 but I do enjoy it and went for it 'cos Rough model has wire wheels and looks good (tho of course - punctures, the price to pay). It's good combo along with the 1200 Sport. I prob wouldn't have it if it was my only bike, though... the older I get....

Not my bike anymore! And to be honest, I'm not really fond of all the italian flag waving...
    (wadda a mistake-a to make-a)

LOL, I was a little surprised seeing it: just slightly on the garish (and tempted to say youthful) side of the balance for Jaap – though you, quite rightly,  weren't averse to an Italian striped helmet.

Believe it or not, but this is how it looks now... Only the frame, gearbox and drive-shaft are still original

I'm sure you've added stripes and red bits since I last saw pics of that. Yum.

Hi Dave! Good to see you are still around! I have a picture somewhere of you trying to fix a leak on that Scura. If I remember correctly that was in Troon, where you took the ferry back to Belfast.

Yeah, that trip did for the bike. It blew over with full luggage weight and the shock cracked the timing chest. Much woe over the weakness, thinness of that point where the top bracket attaches. It took a long time to find a second-hand timing cover and, erm, please don't ask me if I've ever fitted it yet.

  7. No I haven't posted here for years and years, but am looking at pics from 20 years ago (19 1/2yrs more accurate) of collecting Scura #497 in England.
Now there are five Guzzis sitting about the place, collected up over the 20 yrs. You know how it is.

Wowsie, you got a very rare MOTO GUZZI SPORT ELEPHANT! Watch out that it doesn't sit on those other midget bikes.

  9. Ian, known as Morris Sod in the Forum, from NSW Australia dropped by Belfast last night. Good man himself. Gentleman Ian, Jan and a bunch of the local G men had a very nice session discussing, oh... Moto Guzzi and the like. It rained.

If anyone else might visit these parts from the far flung reaches of Guzziland, give us a shout. Ian and Jan are heading up the North Coast Road today. I do hope they can see the view, as sadly it is, how do you say, raining.

  10. 2016 is the momentous time when I cleared out the box trailer that I purchased a number of years ago to serve as a GUZZI GARAGE. First: it's Griso Garage.

The little lean-to garage is too tight to work on anything

so this is a great leap forwards.

Griso is pulled to bits again, but then, once this is reassembled in some sort of fashion, it will be time for......

    ......THE V.11 SHED
