  1. It's not my bike though. I can post in one of the other (special) places (for banter). It's this (Facebook links) > Fbk album 1 > https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10152210028456493.1073742183.628571492&type=1&l=1403167b14 Fbk album 2 > https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10152210301441493.1073742184.628571492&type=1&l=27ec55e986
  2. you're trying to get me started…
  3. Would another method be to check against a GPS speed reading? Are the consumer units or phone apps accurate enough for this? ________ - looking at comment on the web, GPS is dependent on circumstances and not 100% reliable for complete accuracy. But I imagine it might be as good as other methods unless you can access specialist equipment and even your unit isn't going to give consistent 100% accuracy, as you change tyres, wear the tyre, lean off the tyre centre etc. So trials with a gps might do it?
  4. Great to see these pics.
  5. That was short'n'sweet, so back again. Yes, it's really the colour and the carbon bits combined with the frame geometry at that time, the bar position, little fairing and Ohlins. No major items of uniqueness. Changes come aftermarket.
  6. I have forgotten just about everything, but from what I possibly remember, the fuel pump change was just a year thing and the change was across the V11 range when it happened. There were various changes to the V11s over the years including to the frame, exhaust system, engine paint, wheel rims and handlebars and I think the Scura would have been in step with the annual model changes (improvements or otherwise). The particular things that make the 2002 Scura (as distinct from the later one) what it is, to my mind are... I have a 10.30 meeting, must go, will return later, by which time I expect someone else will have completed the sentence,
  7. Oh... I've just read this post: "I and a colleague have been developing maps for the G8 and I was wondering if he'd like to try one out. It might make him fall in love again!" Intriguing!
  8. Hi Pete, are you around & about? Thanks to Jim also.... better late than never.
  9. I should post some photos of the little café custom based on Mk5 LeMans, that was out for a run a few weeks ago. I think you saw the Facebook pics, Jim? Is Baldini still around? He would like the engineering detail.
  10. Good grief, I've forgotten how to post a video on here! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jEC_8BjLQoE
  11. Oh, new look board! I saw this come up on Facebook via Jaap. As things stand at the moment, that weekend is about the only one that I could do. Even then, it's probably when I will need to take my family holidays. It would be great to have a get-together so plough ahead. D
  12. This is great. I wish I could understand the narration. Film of 1970 Elephant Rally
  13. I've just realised, rather late as it's November: this is 2012! ! 10th anniversary of the birth of Scura, out of Moto Guzzi ! Party in the Scura Hut Bring Your Own Spanners
  14. Was playing with these boys yesterday, among others. Can't beat fire & flames – and electricity in all the wrong places.
  15. Autumn glory and as Van Morrison said, In September, when the leaves come falling down Follow me down, follow me down, follow me down To the place between the garden and the wall Follow me down, follow me down To the space between the twilight and the dawn Follow my butt, to the Scura Hut.
  16. Thanks Jaap - it's another of those weird ones. The photos do not all display on my computer at work or the one at home. I have checked on my phone and it is same thing: in posts 1, 2, 3 & 6 there are no photos!
  17. Suede is good, Fergal. I once made a motorbike seat cover from beautiful brown leather – with fringes all around it. Bothersome in the wet, yes, but, it had fringes - and it was real leather. Just don't tell anyone. Jaap, for me, the photos in posts 1, 2, 3 & 6 only appear as messages from Flickr saying that the photos are unavailable. I'll try refreshing the cache. D
  18. Oh well, just to show that Fergal really was there: I'll try a couple more, smaller photos. We'll see if they stay put.
  19. Couldn't edit the above post either. So – the save post button etc don't work at all.
  20. I can't edit the original post either. After clicking 'edit', the 'save post' and the 'use full editor' buttons don't work, only the 'cancel' button. I was going to add this as a PS to above post, but as per the query in the Motha forum here, doing that makes the html code appear in the post. Jaap, do my comments make sense? Seems like a couple of anomalies/faults?
  21. Yes it does. That's why it is so exciting to see the suede. Fergal is in the South, so he's ok: the sun shines there. (Not) I see that half the photos aren't showing anymore. I wonder why Flickr does that? Anyone know what's happening? Photos appear ok at first and then after a day the link doesn't work anymore.
  22. Great that Fergal made it across from the other side of Ireland for a quick morning hello before people went home. I didn't (over)hear the whole conversation, but it sounded like there was delay due to having a baby in mid-air. It wasn't necessarily Fergal who had the baby, though with that seat and of course the whole Tenni thing – it could have been.
  23. I could post scenery ones. Maybe in the Travel forum? Or you can go to Flickr album.
  24. Business: but not as usual. Why have a chain & sprocket when you can have big lumps of stuff – everywhere.
