I can see elements of the duc in it but more so of the Norton.
Not sure what to make of it though....
-
Yep.
Not sure when it became legal but I've done it for many years!
Most drivers are good and there are some very good ones who'll move over to give you more room, but you do get the odd ----head that'll try and block you!
The commute would be a nightmare without it especially when it's hot!

Doh...just realised you checked the light!
Sorry back to the normal programme.

The brake light can be finicky without it being relay related too!
I had a loose connection in the light assembly early on which made the light intermittent...
Just saying.

Ha ha, wonder what a greenie with 102.000 kays on her might be worth these days....?
Probably bugger all, but priceless to me all the same!

Mate
# 1 ( Start ) is closest to the tank # 5 ( Fuel ) furthest from it.

Ps these two NEED to be 5 pin relays but most of us put 5 pin ones in all spots!

I agree probably relays...
Mine has had this before I checked /cleaned them esp #1 and # 5 and blew out any dust etc from the relay base which sorted it.
By the way toggling the kill switch can help but really a stop gap measure.

Yeah, I reckon you're right mate.
I also think it's a combination of things that finally sorts it out!

Ps getting rid of the crap standard tensioner was definitely a factor and the correct gap on the phase (?) sensor plus ......ha ha

Exactly where mine went too!

Thanks fellas.
Yeah, I thought the 160/60 looked ok on the rim too!
Ha ha I'm not about to go dragging my arse down the road to find out how far to lean to get rid of the strips and will just keep on doing and enjoying what I'm doing!
Cheers
Ps as for scrubbing the edges in case you go in a little hot sometime....
Not sure but after x amount of heat cycles I doubt the edges would be any concern if not scrubbed.... ???

G'day folks.
I was flicking through Total Control by Lee Parks recently and came across a section on Traction.
There was mention of a bloke on an SV650 who was achieving pretty good lean angles on his standard tyre which on the SV was a 160/60 jobbie on a 4.5 inch rim like our red frames .It then went on to mention that a 160/60 wasn't really designed for a 4.5 inch rim but for a 5 inch rim.In fact by fitting this tyre to a 4.5 inch rim it's pinching it to the point that you can't use the very edges of the tyre unless you crash!
I've been running the 160/60 profile on mine for years now and have often wondered why I can't seem to get to the very edges of the tyre!
I don't really think about it when I'm riding ( nor care a great deal ) but I also reckon I achieve decent lean angles and have about 15mm of unused tyre at the very edges so in order to sate my curiosity...
How's your chicken strips?

Ps I'm pretty happy with the 160/60 profile and have no complaints really...just curious.

Wonder when they'll carry a wee SUV on the trailer....or at least a couple of electric mobility scooters so they can run into town!

23 hours ago, Lucky Phil said:
You can buy Chinese "branded" Rizoma knock offs for about a 1/4 of the price from western re sellers and the quality "looks" fine but they suffer from things like the adjustment ball is so tight it's unusable which is a total PITA if you knock one out of adjustment. Tools required. I have them on the RE and must replace them.
I've had the chinese Rizoma rip-offs on mine for a few years now!
Apart from the adjustability factor as Phil has mentioned they're ok and work for me.
I cant remember the price but it was significantly cheaper than the real deal.

Do let us know mate...
Mine was sorted years ago as the bike was serviced by Brad Black and hasn't missed a beat since.
Probably will now that I've mentioned it eh!

Thanks fellas.
Yeah, it looks like piggy backing it with something else is the go, to justify the freight.

Lucky phil suggested checking with Stein Dinse, which is what I did. Found another source or two at similar prices. Looks like I paid 18 euros for the little bugger, but then a bunch more to ship it.
mine, as shown in earlier pics in this thread, was in ugly shape.
here’s a screen shot of my order. They use the term “screw fork”, which seems obscure. I think steering head nut was the term I used to find it from other sites.
and as phil points out, it’s not chrome, it’s a stainless finish, which is different than stock but much preferred in my opinion.
G'day mate.
What were the other sources you found if you don't mind?
I contacted Stein Dinse and it's $103 ( Australian ) to get it here.
$37 for the part and $66 in freight!
Mine looks to be chromed as a piece has chipped off it so re-chroming it may be cheaper or I could just live with it as I have since day one.

Yep, this happened to me early in my ownership!
Sorting the linkages out stopped it completely!

G'day mate.
20.3 litres....Wow I can only ever get 17 litres in!
Mind you I do look for a servo at 250K's when the ole light comes on so not sure how much I'd get in if I ever let her run dry.
After pushing a GPZ900 around the Boulevard many many years ago due to running out o gas..... I'm not about to try and find out!

If it's the early version with the bypass holes, then try doing as Guzzimoto says and blocking them!
I did and it makes quite a difference.
