  2. Argh, I have been chasing this demon since I got my bike. Would you include the hard turnover as this same problem? The bike will be idling fine, then turns once or twice like it hates to spin, then goes fine again. And the stalling out thing, both the same problem? Oh yeah, bearings back in, windage/slopage plate confirmed, pc3 in place, I am looking foreward to a hot summer of riding! ...after I get my tach fixed
  3. I figured, I just wanted to be sure.
  4. I've gotten mine, and have a question. there are 2 sides with 4 holes, and 2 sides with 3. Should all of these be open? It looks like one was cut, but not knocked out. I can knock that piece out right?
  5. Huh, I'm not sure now that I think about it. It could have been 800(maybe the hepco-becker set goes for 1200?). What I do know is bub stopped making them, and some cat had like 6 sets of them in his shop and didn't know how to get rid of them.
  6. Goodness I can't believe I never got back to this thread! I found some bub pipes on ebay, and 1200 bucks later...
  7. Heh, this happened to me a couple years ago. It's amazing where the parts of a wasp, hit at highway speeds, will wind up. Like inside the clutch switch(upon which it impacted). I keep putting duck tape over it, and my mechanic keeps taking it off.
  8. There was plenty of metal left on my parts, yes. The only thing I needed to buy were the new bearings
  9. Ugh, that's exactly what mine did. Wait till you see what's left of that front crank bearing. If you keep the crank GET IT TURNED. We tried new bearings and she spun em in 5 miles. Strangely, it doesn't ping anymore, at all. And I've sent a check for my plate.
  10. Hey pete, I sent you a pm, let me know how to get in on this. And have you patented it yet?
  11. Is this the oil slop plate I just read about? Are you still making them? I don't want to buy any more bearings. edit: yes I see, how do I go about ordering one? I'd like to mail a check. Paypal is kind of not so good.

the first thing was the oil light flickering, then being on solid, then it sounds like someone threw keys into your motor. and yeah, it seems like going from parts to p3 is kind of backwards. ahh well.

    and i return

first off, i have been away too long and am glad to see somethings don't change. about why i've been away: last summer i burned out a crank bearing. i didn't want to be a cranky bastard due to my bike's condition, but that's behind me now. some time after that we got it back together, we had hoped simply a new bearing would do it. and it did, for about 3 miles. now the block is out, the conn rods(if still good) are being balanced and whatever at a shop with the crank and pistons. here's where you come in... with the block out and stripped, what would you do to your motors? my head is spinning at the potential, but i don't know how far i can go with the stock computer. this is something i would like to spare myself, the purchase of a 400 dollar computer for my bike. i'll do it if i have too...but i'd rather just get parts. i could see myself looking at a budget of maybe a grand, so you see why i'm trying to stay away from the powercommander. but enough about me!! what about you? i want your wishlists! also, happy cinco de mayo...mmmmmmm....mayo.
  15. i try the coughing sneeze to evoid the spatter.
