  2. It worked – the tank is not back to normal size, but it did shrink enough for me to refit it on to the bike. So for anyone else that have problems with a swelling tank – try to empty the tank completely, place the bike somewhere dry, open the lid on the tank and leave it overnight (or longer).
  3. I would think water might further deform the tank material as it does with various polyamides. Exposure to air is more likely to restore the original shape. How full was the tank when you removed it? It was about 1/3 full - and thanks for the advice, I have just emptied it, opened the cap and now I’ll let it sit on the bike till tomorrow and then see what happens.
  4. Thanks - I'll try to flush the tank with water and let it dry for some time and see what happens...
  5. Okay - so it's not the new fuel lines - I guess that’s some kind of relief. Is there any way to get the tank back to normal? Have been searching the internet, but haven’t found anything on it. I’m thinking what if I emptied the tank and let it dry for some while – would it shrink back or is it just a bloated tank forever now?
  6. Anyway to test it? Can I empty the tank completely and wait a while or? I have found out, that in Denmark it is required by law to have 5% ethanol in petrol. Thanks for the reply by the way :-)
  7. I recently changed my fuel lines with new steel reinforced ones (because it looks nice – and they needed replacement). The new ones are a bit bigger in the outside diameter than the old fuel lines, but not very much. Now when I try to refit the fuel tank it won’t fit properly at the mounting screw in the back end of the tank. Have anyone experienced the same problem and is there a way to fix it, without having to buy and fit new fuel lines again? My main headache is, that it doesn’t seem like the fuel lines is squeezed between the tank and the frame anywhere. Furthermore, if I unscrew the rubber pads (the ones in the front that keep the tank in place) the tank fits perfectly! Any advice is very welcome! (and preferably not to change the fuel lines again ;-)
  8. It is a V11 Le Mans from 2002 - and it's primarily the fuel lines I'm interested in.
  9. Does anyone know the dimensions of the different hoses?
  10. Battery life is my concern as well! Any one have any opinion on Scorpio or SpyBall alarms? They seem pretty good - but they are really expensive - so if any one out there have some experience with Scorpio or SpyBall alarms that would be great :-)
  11. First off, sorry if this question has been posted before (as I could imagine it has been) – but I could not find anything on MC alarm on this forum, so here goes: I would like to buy an alarm for my 2002 Moto Guzzi V11 Le Mans, but I have no clue what to look for! Therefore, what are your experiences out there? Is the GPS tracker alarms any good and is a motion sensor a must have? Also, what is the battery drain when you fit an alarm on the bike? I'm going to buy a new battery for my Guzzi anyway, so I might as well just buy one whit a lot of Ah.
  12. The only thing you need to know about Denmark is that you have to pay a 170% registration tax for a new or a imported mc! Yes, that was 170 - more then the actual value of the motorcycle. As one how just recently imported my Le Mans into Denmark when moving from the US, I know this all to well :-(
  13. Cliff will no doubt pitch in but the myEcu forum is the place to visit to catch up on developments. There is a link on the left hand side of the website IIRC. Thanks a lot - I'll look into that!
  14. The latest update on www.cajinnovations.com is from November 2007! Is it still operational? Also, what is the know-how requirements for dealing with MyECU? I would like to buy one (especially because of the diagnostic tool and the Android/Bluetooth gadget), but I’m not very keen on programming the ECU myself!
  15. That would be nice - or just a website where I can read something about it if you know of any. I can read some German, so no problem there
  16. Thanks for the advice! And Hubert no it not time yet, but since I am bringing my Guzzi with me from the US I have to pay approx 10000 US$ in registration-fee - only to get Danish license plates on it (yep, that's Denmark! So instead I'm gonna move to Berlin next summer. Do you by any change know the procedures in regards to getting the bike approve by the Germane authorities and getting germane license plates on it? /Emil
  17. As I plan to put my V11 Le Mans away for the winter (actually until next summer!) I would like to know, how I best preparer it for this. I’m of course going to give it a thorough wash and disconnect the battery. But how about the gas tank? Should I fill it up in order to prevent rust? Also I plan to put a little oil into the cylinder heads (through the spark plug hole), is this unnecessary? Is it recommended to change oil before or after the “hibernation”? And what lift is the better, one where the lift is placed under the engine block, or two lifts that lifts up the rear and front tire (I’m thinking it will affect the suspension)? Are there other things I should be aware of in regards to putting your bike away for a long time? Thanks in advance!
  18. In the V11 Workshop book it says: FRONT 120/70 - ZR 17" BRIDGESTONE BT020 BRIDGESTONE BT57 REAR 170/60 -ZR 17" BRIDGESTONE BT020 BRIDGESTONE BT57 The Bridgestone Battlax BT-023 Sport Touring is currently on sale on motorcycle-superstore.com. I'm planing on buying them there as I also need new tires.
  19. My rather newly bought Moto Guzzi V11 Le Mans from 2002 (13.939 miles) has a small problem. Sometimes when it is warm it idles uneven and even pops and almost stalls. It seems like one of the cylinders don’t take in gas at one of the blows and then it sets out and pops in the exhaust, almost stalling. It only happens when it is warm – when it’s cold it runs like a... well like a cold motor! To fix this I first suspected the valves which I then adjusted (they were way off – check below) and at the same time I had a look at the air filter which looked fine. The problem was improved, but it was still there. This weekend I then calibrated the TPS and balanced the throttle bodies. So far with no result. Also I did a compression test, but I might not have done it properly. I just unplugged the sparkplugs and skrew in the compression tester in (I just read, that you should have the throttle wide open and I didn’t). Compression Test: Right cylinder: 120 PSI - Left cylinder: 114 PSI (totally warm engine) The valves before adjustments: Intake ®: 0.203 mm Exhaust ®: 0.203 mm Intake (L): 0.178 mm Exhaust (L): 0.254 mm Hope someone out there can figure out, what is wrong with my Guzzi – thanks. PS: I have attached two pictures of the sparkplugs – perhaps that can give a clue?
  20. I just bought a Moto Guzzi v11 le mans from 2002 and when I checked / cleaned the air filter, I discovered that the air temperature sensor was taken out of the air intake box and lay next to it in a form of plastic cup. Why would one do that? Are there problems with the air temperature sensor I need to be aware of?
