  1. Welcome! BTW we never get tired of Rosso Mandello pics!
  2. Utah is a must ride! Bummer about the mirrors.
  3. There is also an eccentric adjuster that limits the gear selector throw, some more knowledgeable than me suggest not adjusting with the preselector installed. I personally have adjusted it very carefully, like 1/32 of a turn. It’s eccentric so try one way if it helps you can go a tiny bit further, if not go back the other way. Always mark where it was from the beginning so you can go back to square one. Like JB I’m suspicious of the linkage too I just posted a pic of my linkage on another thread very recently. I’d start with the linkage personally. You’ll get it!
  4. What a bummer. Aren’t there a couple “part out” bikes in the classifieds right now?
  5. Might be hard to see with the starter in the way but if you’re way off you’ll know
  6. Check that your linkage is correct. I can post a pic of mine in a few minutes.
  7. With my new battery I had just under 10v at the battery while cranking. Checking voltage drop is definitely and under utilized tool in my (limited) bag of tricks.
  8. He is one I have not checked with. After Cycle garden quoted me $600 I stopped checking most of the regulars. I will hit Charlie up though, good call.
  9. My post was a little jumbled. Sorry ‘merican public schools and all. Its been edited.
  10. To make a long story short there was oil compression no out of the bell housing. It was most likely from the input shaft seal on the transmission. But while I was there things got out of hand. Refreshed all the leak points on the back of the engine and trans, fresh bearings and shims in the trans where needed and a fresh clutch. After some strange ignition issues (two brand new condensers failed in 30 miles????) this is a really fun bike to just enjoy riding. I’m not sure that I’m a floorboard guy though maybe they’ll grow on me. Footpegs are hard to come by.
  11. I seem to replace bearings at every 3rd or fourth tire change. Always use SKF most of the time. Usually bearing condition isn’t horrible but not worth the risk of running a shagged bearing. FWIW.
  12. My voltage dropped below 8 while cranking even after re-conditioning this battery a couple times. It would start, but then after sitting it just barely cranks. New odyssey delivered this week. Hopefully I can get out and test it today.
  13. I had Guzzitech work their magic on my forks, including the gold valve emulators. They work awesome, but if I was to do it again I would follow Guzzimoto and Docc’s advice. Seal up some of the oil bypass and get the proper springs. No complaints though
  14. When they are right, man they are Right! nice work!
  15. My T3 project has been giving me fits so I haven’t had time to get to the v11. I want one more good start after she’s been sitting. But I feel like Docc you are probably right....again. The battery just needed a good heavy amp charge.
  16. One more easy start and I’m calling this solved. After a week the battery was plenty strong to start her.
  17. Funny enough while out for a ride a couple hours ago I lost one of these bolts
  18. Well said. On a lighter note, Pete you have to write a book.
  19. I didn’t have a lot of time yesterday. I tried to start her at 12.78v again after sitting a couple days. Nothing. I’m going to go back through the wiring. I’m not too suspicious of the starter because it does spin fine with a freshly charged battery. To my mind it’s either resistance at a connection somewhere, the solenoid, or my battery. Cleaning the ignition switch first, then connection at the battery and the main ground.
  20. Always appreciate your opinion Roy!
  21. Carcano’s swan song? Was the hi-cam Carcano’s?
  22. i really wish someone would just buy those already!
