  1. That is more than enough for me, especially considering the weight.
  2. Maybe the t3 would be up to the task. I’m sure I’m owed a motocation by Mrs Czakky... Would be awesome for sure!
  3. D’oh! I actually went the opposite route. Going from dual banjo to the crossover tube.... that makes a lot of sense. Definitely used your G5 re-commissioning thread on WG, thanks again Chuck!
  4. My first attempt at serious body paint didn’t go so well... She’s going to be “Ford tractor red”. I’ll call it passable. Chrome cylinders replaced and very little to no leakage from the valves under my leak down tester so the heads went back on. All new brass in the carbs. Fresh pod filters and I eliminated the airbox and stock breather system replaced with a loop breather system. With all new hoses including the properly strange cross fuel line thingy. Fresh stainless braided oil feed lines to the heads. Random gaskets and rubber replaced everywhere. Valtek tensioner and fresh timing chain. I’ve got to go back into the timing chest for a third time after seeing one of the unused bolts still a couple mm too long and a bit too close to the crank for my taste. Forks completely rebuilt including a new tube on one side and new damper cartridges. The only fluid in one of the forks was water.... All three calipers rebuilt after dicovering some seriously rusty pistons. Hopefully I can get the stainless brake lines on today. I’m sure there’s more but that’s where I’m at with her for now. Still looking to install new handlebars (OEM 70-72 Yamaha R5 I had laying around) and modern switches. Sort of halfway looking to replace the floorboards with stock pegs, but they are starting to grow on me. The Krauser hard bag setup will be for sale, I’m just not cool enough to pull this off... Still have to go through the ignition and ignition switch. I don’t like how loose the key position is in the run position. Fresh turn signals and still deciding if I want to swap an 850t/v7 sport console. I’ve always like those but I’m not sure if I’d need to replace the entire dash to do it. That’s where I’m at i will try and get some pics (if anybody’s interested) weather permitting.
  5. It’s very cool to see something interesting coming from the states. It could be on a short list of new bikes I’d own. Really though after swinging a leg over a 790 Duke yesterday I’m a bit smitten. https://goo.gl/images/rthmGh

    Zinc chromate

It tells a story now. I like it.
  7. Kind of gives it more credibility from a design standpoint...
  8. OG=Original Gangster in my lexicon. In this case responsible non-murdering, helpful gangsters. It’s a good thing, right?
  9. Something about firing up a bike with a kick starter! Although I’m sure that husky takes a bit more leg and skill than my 6.5:1 two stroke. I have a buddy at work with 450 (?) version of that bike. They are one of the few ds bikes, that to me are so good looking.
  10. I also have an ad on wild guzzi. Thanks guys.
  11. Floorboards, who wants em? Willing to trade for footpegs or cash for my t3 project. Hope it’s cool to post Tonti stuff here? Thanks guys [Mod/docc edit: yep! Totally cool! Good luck! (As always, with the un-V11 stuff, you might want to ping our brothers over on WildGuzzi.)]
  12. Mine is like Docc’s. 02’ red and gray.
  13. That thing is so right on so many levels.
  14. As usual I appreciate the research and reporting done here.
  15. Got her home this weekend. I of course didn’t take any good pics. Rest assured I will have it looking/riding much better before spring. The tank is no bueno, so I will take this opportunity to paint the tins. I’m thinking red or pale blue ala Lemans mk 1. Cylinders are Nikasil, the bars are going to go, fork seals, timing chain tensioner and fresh brake lines are what will get done this winter. @jester, I have not. At this stage it’s just a pipe dream, maybe in the next couple years as my three year old gets older...
  16. Lighter wheels? A bit of compression damping is nice too....
  17. @Docc, highs of 40f on Saturday! Maybe I’ll take a quick ride.
  18. You believe some people call it “fly-over country”.... Ha! Amazing shots foto!
