  1. thnx Docc. Just got her a few weeks ago. A real cream puff. A deal just too good to pass up. Had her on the road course a couple of times, that throttle will get away from ya and take you right around.
  2. My wife drives a '14 Accord EX Sedan stick. We also have a '99 Trooper and '04 Duramax that I pull my Travel Trailer Toy Hauler. I am trying to sell my Camaro. This is my new ride. 49k miles, stick and 430 hp.
  3. 1 1/8 turns? Docc, you must be stronger than Charles Atlas. And then you have to screw that oily thing off? Superman (or Channel Locks) I can only say, I am glad I use the hose clamp Shit, my hands are smaller than Donald Trump's.
  4. Looks like a Guzzi meet up in Huntsville Ark at the Withrow Springs State park this weekend. http://wildguzzi.com/forum/index.php?topic=81997.0 I am on the fence but if I go I'll stay in the motel (don't feel like camping). It's 300 mile trip for me. In fact Dusty (Cedar Vale fame) is putting this weekend campout together. I'm usually at Cedar Vale, we also do a meet up in Springfield (MO) to ride the Springfield (IL) Mile. I've done the Undercliff at Tipton Ford too but it's a long ways for a lunch ride. I usually make a trip or two to the Ozarks every year. I'd like to ride your 100 mile loop. Perhaps I'll see you soon? Saw that. Going to get the V11 safety inspected tomorrow and head down that way to say hello. Looking forward to meeting you at CV. I'll be the sissy looking for lodging thereabouts..... Saw you made it there. Well, maybe next time for me?

  6. Leroy, You're in Neosho? I am not sure if we've met. Do you ride with Guzzi John, Dusty or Rocker on Wild Guzzi? I am usually heading to Ozarks a couple of times a year. Probably will go to the RAT Raid in Jasper Ark in April. Perhaps we can catch a ride together and you can show me some new roads? John L
  7. Yeah, I was at the Indy Mile when Kenny did 4 demo laps on that thing. That was during the 2nd MotoGP weekend at Indy.
  8. Were having Flat Track on the Mile at Remington Downs in OKC, Saturday June 18th. You might've seen my post on Wild Guzzi. If not, I am putting together a campout and cookout at Lake Arcadia about 15 minute ride north of the track. If you never seen a Mile Flat Track, I can tell you it's the most exciting racing there is. Compare it to anything, Indy Cars, Moto GP, NASCAR, it's really exciting. If you're interested, let me know or keep up with this space or WG.
  9. Docc, you stiffened the rear spring and dropped the front ?
  10. It's not one thing it's another...........
  11. I wouldn't mind having the RC8. It's very comfortable, perhaps more so than my Sport. And man, it's a Superbike with some real midrange.
  12. when mine is vertical, it definitely shows full. I might dump it and remeasure in a marked cup. I've just been eyeballing it out of the site line on the side of the bottle.
  13. my dream bike would be my Greenie done up with a Mike Rich engine and Guzzitech Suspension.
  14. Oh the tranny has a site glass not an overflow plug. Gees forgot that. Anyway it's full when upright vs on the sidestand. I am guessing that it might be pretty easy to overfill it.
  15. Well I was finally able to trace it. Unfortunately, It's the transmission that is leaking. Not sure where or how. I switched to a red gear oil and found a few drips and lots of smear on the bottom. First thing I'll check is if it's overfilled (I fill it on the sidestand) and check if it needs a crush washer. Next I'll look for cracks,
  16. But silver ones are slower than Greenies.
  17. Docc- Best I can tell my bike is 6-2000 build. S/N 1132xx Looks like mine is a later build than your
  18. I think the Sport will be a sportier ride than the Beemer. Hopefully, given it's age and mileage it's been sorted out. One thing that might be a difference is riding a traditional fork on the Sport vs the Telelever Beemer. I really like the feel and handling of the Sport (other than highway weave issue) and didn't get used to the "power steering" that some Beemers have. It might be the opposite for you.
  19. That doesn't look fun at all. When in a fast sweeper and I hit a bump my Sport will sometimes give 1 or 2 wiggles and settle immediately. Looking at the film. I wonder if the sitting upright acts as a spoiler and unloads the front wheel, increasing the wobble, and lying down loads it back up by eliminating the spoiler effect and also shifting some weight forward. I didn't see the "lying down" test with any of the faired bikes. I wonder if it would work as well, (or at all), as the naked bikes. Interesting film that shows the need for attention to tire condition and pressure. For sure, weighting the front improves weave (mis)behavior, as does attention to tire condition and pressure. Regarding RedFrames, they are certainly shorter than later (2002 on) long-frames while the fork rake remains the same. Except (reportedly) the earliest RedFrames with the notable triple clamp numbers. LowRyter: look up under your upper triple clamp with a light and find the part number . . . . ? Docc, Not sure I follow. My front axle is screwed to my fork leg? I'd certainly hope so. Not getting what you mean. I'll see if I can check for a part number soon.
  20. well Phil, There are 3 shops in the USA that will do this work. Joel got it done on time and on cost and talked to me about it on the phone. You know I didn't even think about the needle until I got it back. But yeah, maybe he should've caught it. And I should've told him about it. On the other hand it doesn't look discolored, only white.
  21. for us red framers, the film is probably most relevant.
  22. a film about motorcycle weave and wobble.
  23. SD. He did not. I should've mentioned it him. The face was fine but the red needle was faded and he didn't paint it or replace it. I think he probably would paint the needle- I've done it myself fixing the tach on my EV. I would guess the face might be another issue since it would require much more work or a replacement. I would call him and ask.
  24. A Racetech tech told me that single rate springs work best on front forks. I am not sure for the reason. Also, someone on the board here had found a Racetech Gold Valve kit that fits the V11 although no kit was listed by Racetech. You might search the board.
  25. MF- looks like a nice flyscreen. Good job. I didn't new years got up to about 40. I rode the day after and got about 5 miles and determined that it's nuts.
